im not entirely sure I understood what the sketch glitch did
does it just trick the game into thinking you are somewhere else entirely thus skipping everything leading up to that?
The glitch applied all the status effects, including the particular one when a Zone Eater swallows a party member. Zone Eaters only appear in the World of Ruin (the second half of the game), and when all your characters get swallowed, you'll get into a special area where you can eventually find Gogo. Thus, when you leave that area, the game thinks you're in the World of Ruin now, and you can skip directly to the final dungeon (the World of Ruin in FF6 is nonlinear, and with this glitch you don't have to sidequest to find your other party members, etc). It's pretty clever/broken stuff.
I have been thinking about trying to run Ogre Battle once I get healthier. I looked up to see if there were any runs of it a while back, and there was one...and it didn't do the most very basic of things that you need to do when playing that game for speed:
Turn off animations
OR
Increase overworld speed.
I cannot imagine planning out a speed run of a game and missing something so basic.
I'm actually watching someone LPing Black Queen because I'll never get around to playing it
starting to see where some of the fan critique for the N64 game comes from

Jesus, two-man kill. This is the most brutal Super Metroid race on GDQ.
The game is for Oatsngoats to lose though unless he gets toasted as well.

I'm on mobile and quickly went to make a donation but when I came back oatsngoats was killed! What happened!?
He died to Mother Brain's red beam BS, which left Behemoth the last hope for a true peace in space.
I thought it was a blue beam. Well, technically he suicided into her foot, but that's because he dropped below 300 HP which guaranteed that he was going to auto-die to the scripted rainbow beam.

That sucks. I donated to kill the animals too cuz his run was looking like it was going really well!
I voted save because I think they were killed last time, alas no alive animals today
+1

It also has a rerelease that isn't a trash fire. But basically like all things it comes down to what you played when you were a kid.
I would pay a king's ransom for a new version of FF6 that wasn't ass. But no, all everyone arglebargles about is stupid 7.
Given what the FF7 remake is doing though, it's prob for the best.
Whereas the updated Final Fantasy Tactics looks great. Of course there is that slowdown issue...

They were saved at agdq, where one runner was nearly on world record pace
