Now I'm imagining a Treasure Goblin Murky skin who puts down a treasure chest with a portal spawn in animation as an egg and throws exploding gold piles as pufferfish.

Diablo has a lot of potential hero units even when you move beyond the player classes and demon boss characters. The first especially had some memorable named monsters, some that have returned in the sequels. A Gharbad the Weak hero that transforms into Gharbad the Strong as an ult would tickle a lot of nostalgia bones.
Also, I now apparently need a Cow King skin for ETC.

Pfft, Treasure Goblin Hero instead imo. He could have an ult that makes an enemy hearth back to their base (like they're jumping through a Treasure Portal or something), effectively removing a Hero from the fight. It'd be AWESOME.

Thanks @Invictus@Spawnbroker@Gnizmo for putting up with my first foray into Versus. I was ... not good. Thanks for putting up with me learning.
Its gonna take a while to get used to how often and early laning breaks down on the different maps. And since teamfights happen so early and consistently, my limited knowledge of the enemy heroes' capabilities got me into a lot of trouble.
Its already a ton more fun than LoL and DOTA so at least theres that.
It doesn't seem like they're planning to invent characters for Zerg units since most of them are in the game as abilities (Zerglings, Roaches, Hydralisks, Mutalisks, Ultralisks). The only SC warriors that come to mind are Dehaka, Fenix and maybe Artanis (not sure what class he is).
Not enough playable Zerg, too many goddamn Protoss already.
I wouldn't at all be surprised if the crusader character that we know is coming is a diablo support. The arch angel of healing would also work well but we haven't heard about her as a character at all.

To be fair the $30-$40 for a whole lot of LOL content was that starter box/pack. I'm hoping Blizzard puts out something similar.
$39.99 for 10 heroes, a couple skins, a mount, and a 7-day stimpack. Boosh.
Man, it's as if there are two separate marketing departments that don't speak to each other. Gee, who might this be that totally wasn't revealed in the recent skin reveal video?
Nah that's just clever. First, different social channels cater to different demos. Second, engagement is key and people love to flex their fan muscle with this stuff. Whether that be because they know what that hint/outline is or because they're following the game closely enough to have seen the recent teaser video.
PA forum readers are also far more informed as soon as things are announced, too.

Something that would actually be really cool since this is Blizzard Smash Bros is a 'build your own bundle' or something. Pick x 2k heroes, y 4k heroes etc for some lump sum, so you can load up on your favorite heroes. It probably won't happen because they want you to buy your favorite heroes and subsist on bundle heroes until then, but y'know.

Build-your-own is entirelty too consumer slanted. It would never benefit them. The heroes in bundles are purposely built to include the least popular with an ooo shiny to close the deal.
They take into account sales of the heroes, not just their price point. Would be great for us, but bad for business.

Yeah, anytime something like this pops up that makes informed people puzzled over the "mystery", all you need to do is look at the actual responses. Hundreds of which are wide-eyed people going "Ooooo I think it might be THRALL!!1!".

And even those that reply in puzzlement are boosting engagement. Perfect Facebook page content, where within the 603k likes they currently have, only a handful will regularly see content in their timeline unless it is pushed up with engagement.
Two posts under this one is their teaser video. People are still guessing Ogrim in the comments. And lots of people guessing different pokemon.

Some of the bundles have not quite done this. The old Starcraft bundle had Tychus, Kerrigan, and Tassadar. While Kerrigan hasn't really recovered from nerfs since then, those were all really high tier heroes when the bundle was around.
Since then they've shifted more towards the mega bundles or bundles with more skins.

And not laden it with skins and a $20 mount to drive up the cost.
Or have the mount be exclusive to the pack.
This. I would be much more willing to shell out money on a mount if it were more.. exclusive. Whether that be a limited time mount offer or have it only available within a specific bundle. Call me weird, but to me the whole point of having a mount is to say "Look what I can ride!", and that is diminished when half of the other players are riding the same thing.
The goat will be more rare as time goes on. So there's that.
I am unironically unable to tell whether this is a good comp or a bad comp.
But this reminds me of a game I played last night. I played Tassadar with four assassins, and in the beginning I apologized for being extremely drunk. "OK", they said. "Just keep pressing D".
A bit later I get:
"Tassadar"
"Tassadar"
"Tassadar maybe you should leave the base and then start pressing D".
I am unironically unable to tell whether this is a good comp or a bad comp.
There was a time when 4 assassins and a support was a favored comp since many warriors could just be played around while bursting down the opposing team. It's nice to be past that.

The level 90 boost in WOW is a great example. Something that took one intern one day for the price of an entire AAA title. Right-o.

You could call the price point for level boosting an intentional disincentive, whereas bundles are pretty much the exact opposite: priced low enough and with just enough cool stuff inside that people might just opt to pay cash instead of gold.

Opposing team on Blackheart's had both an Azmodan and a Gazlowe. I tell my team we need to be careful to check golem post 10 just because of the Azmodan, let alone the Gazlowe.
Enemy Azmodan takes the correct ult...but neither he nor the Gazlowe ever showed up to Boss o_O We got 3 free Boss Golems through the entire game, mostly because we'd aggressively check it to make sure the Azmo wasn't soloing it.
Level 13 depends, may take Relentless against a CC-heavy team.
No Resurgence?!?!?! :P
Besides level 20, that's exactly how I build him if I'm the main/only tank. The other build for him (if you're going full on CC) is THIS.
Fishing hook + Gorge + Bolt of the Storm (you're not a targeting priority if you're not main tank) means you can take someone FAR out of the fight or get them into your team very quickly. He USED TO be able to take Sprint as well, which means anyone who got Gorged by you was displaced pretty much across the map.
edit - I always take Resurgence at 20 if I find people are targeting me enough. I usually end up going like 25-1(ish) with Stitches, not because I'm super amazing (which I'm not), but because Stitches just doesn't put out enough damage AND is hard enough to kill AND relies on good positioning, so people usually decide not make him a top priority

It says something about how strong a multi-use Gorge is that Resurgence is not an automatic pick on Stitches.
Gorge is probably my favorite ultimate in the game due to its versatility (the CC is obvious. The damage is very good for a warrior ability too) and hilarity.

Dumb Azzys make me so angry, man. Was playing some games tonight with @Mazzyx, and I absolutely dominated the boss spawns on every map. I think I pulled like 3-4 on Blackhearts, and in the Cursed Hollow, I controlled both bosses the entire game. And it was like a 30+ minute game, so we're talking probably a dozen bosses. Feels good, man.
Had some fun games tonight with @milk ducks and @übergeek. Man love warriors in this game but I am finding myself depending on the game moving away from resurgence. Especially on Arthas. If I am in a game where I can eat my ghouls the extra time and ghouls means more fights I win instead of playing catch up. If I am being blown up too fast then I take resurgence.
Muradin I tried the improved Avatar today since in the game I had died once by that point. I don't see it making the same difference that the extra ghouls take. But again depends on the enemies. The reduced stun time was nice when I got hit with a stun.
Also what I wouldn't kill for a death recap. I have died many times where I am like what killed me? I want to see what dropped 3k health so quickly in a fight. Was there a Nova I missed? Some ult? Team fights can be very chaotic and since I tend to be in the front with my warriors I want to know what I am looking for in a fight. Just be a nice learning tool.
Also nothing like afking complainers. I saw the post earlier. With Milk we had a Diablo calling me crap. It was a rough game. We had lol matchmaker comp with Diablo, Arthas(me), Azmo(Milk), Gaz and a Jaina. I got killed by 3 of them and Diablo starts calling me shit. I muted him. Guy 1-8 already. We were like level 13 I was like. o_O
Oh well whatever. I am about 2k off getting Zags which makes me happy.
Had a series of awesome games with @Oats@dudeman@Saeris and @Dibby - also arc the lad, but I don't know his PA tag. Started off rough, ended with us roflstomping the premades. I do best when I stay the fuck behind somebody else, need to remember that.
Been making some youtube gameplay commentary videos of this game because I like hearing myself talk. Today I did Li Li, because skill shots are for noobs:
