No matter if you like cheese or not it's all on bungee. They designed, coded, and tested the game. It's on them to fix (without breaking it worse) if it's really an issue. The blaming of users for a company's coding and design fail is just odd.
At any rate, the fuss over content only a small minority of players do is getting excessive.
How are the players blameless? No one put a gun to their head and told them to exploit this fight. No one told them to go out of their way to avoid actually playing the game and exploiting it.
Once again, if Bungie can't fix bugs without introducing new ones; that not the consumer's fault, it's Bungie's.
This is the exact self centered attitude I'm talking about. It wouldn't need fixing if people didn't exploit the bugs.
You are losing me rights here reaper.
Your argument that you bring forth about if people wouldn't be exploiting the game it wouldn't need fixing is just wrong to start with. If there is a bug, it needs to be fixed. If I am a boss and notice a bug and my programmer come to me and tell me it's not important since no one stumble into it yet, trust me, he would fix it now or search for work elsewhere.
Who created the game? Who wants to sell the game to make money? Bungie/activision made a game with loads of bug. Their customers found loophole in their horrible programming and level design. If their customer find bug or goes around their intended way of playing the game according to their standard, then it's their responsibility to deal with it. Either fix the encounter that was wrong to start with or live with it.
When I rejoin some people here is that fixing those exploit should not come at the expanse of fixing other bugs in the game. Again, this issue is all on bungie's side on resource management. With the number of people working at bungie,I don't get how they can't work on both issues. There are still some launch bugs that are yet to be addressed and this is unexcusable.
As far as I know, none of the fix done to the atheon encounter actually changed anything for people who are actually doing the counter properly so again, how is fixing these encounter have an impact on your gameplay which you are doing properly?
The only thing I have heard some people mention was the mythoclast nerf. I call bogus on this. The weapon was so over powered that it was bound to get nerf anyway. It had nothing to do with the number of people actually owning the gun. Having one person owning everyone in PVP because of an unbalance weapon is 1 person to much to start with.
If people hadn't been pushing Atheon off of the edges it wouldn't have been an issue, fixes for that specific encounter wouldn't have been needed and maybe some of the horrific bugs that popped up after that fix wouldn't have been around. I didn't experience a majority of the bugs during Atheon until after that ledge fixes for his fight.
All of these exploits being used are things that would not occur normally unless people actively seek them out. This forces Bungie to fix stuff that should be a non-issue instead of focusing fixing other stuff that actually needed to be fixed.
I'm gonna do what the rest did and just drop this argument though. It is going no where.
No, what broke Aetheon was that bungie decided this game wasn't random enough and that the encounter needed more randomness, and now you get more bugs at random.

Generally looks pretty good. Two things worry me though.
Bridge Encounter
Players will now be required to cross the bridge in order to complete the bridge encounter.
Players will now be required to wait for the bridge to be completed prior to crossing with the sword.
How? Because Bungie's record on fixing unintended methods without screwing over the people doing it properly isn't great and this is awfully vague.
I wonder if this means that once 5 people are across and the 6th dies on the other side, if it will basically be a wipe?

I take it to mean that the ogres won't spawn unless someone crosses (and anyone who hasn't crossed has to be dead). I doubt it'll require all 6, as it never has before and that seems a littttttle extreme.

Well yeah
But Bungie's fixes to Raid exploits has generally been weird..

I've actually never done it with all six making it across. Aside from cheesing it, I've had groups where 1 person made it, a lot where 3 made it, and a handful where 4 or 5 made it.

So, with all this - ahem - conversation, did we just not realize Urk posted the Weekly Update like 81 hours ago?
Highlights:
-Just about all Crota cheese removed
-First "free" chest (Pit Chest) now only drops Radiants but...
-Ir Yût now drops what the Pit Chest used to drop (Radiants, Class Item, Random Exotic)
-Exotics dropped in VoG are now "Level 32" which I assume means 331 ATK. Don't know how/if this affects Mythoclast.
EDIT: Maybe the time listed for the posting on Bungie.net is wrong? The Reddit megathread on the subject is just an hour old.
The chest almost kind of bothers me, but just cause I'm a little butthurt. I read about all these awesome items people get from it, and have gotten jack from it. I haven't had any time to raid so at least I had this chest which could give me good stuff. Even got all 3 characters to 27 to be able to do it.
Like, when bungee made the encounter, and made the chest spawn there, they knew people would solo it and go get it right? It's almost like getting kicked in the junk if you've gotten nothing but shit from it.
This decision may bother me more than any other recent decision actually the more I think about it. I thought it was an awesome idea, a raid quality chest that people who can't find people to raid with can get. A little gift for everyone once a week. Again, if they didn't want people getting it solo, why would ththey put it there? They had to know what people were going to do.
I love this game, but I just don't get bungee at times.
The reason it bothers me is because I don't understand it. Is the chest not working as intended, like how Aetheon was supposed to teleport random people? So much of their shit just seems knee jerk, I often wonder if they have any clue how their own encounters are supposed to work.

Most of the times I run it, all 6 make it across. But every once in a while the lone dude across the way dies before he can get across because it can get insane doing that side solo.
We usually left one person on the other side since we didn't need them and didn't want to have to worry about a sword despawning and getting a gatekeeper no one can kill.

I almost guarantee this will be a thing after the fix. Sounds like a bug that will be introduced to me.

I hope they thought through the exploit fix.

Had a blast questing with PA folks tonight — it's always nice knowing that someone will come revive you when you let yourself get melee'd into the environmental geometry.
All I need is an appeal to authority and I have a fallacy bingo!
endlessly spouting the logical fallacies you find is also a logical fallacy. u r not smart because u read a wiki article on fallacies, boyfriendddd (edit: this sounded way cattier than i meant. i'm sure you're very smart you just don't need to lower yourself to that stuff).
but yeah this has been going round and round for ages. you guys never get tired of it? just saying the same stuff over and over? no one's gonna prove the other side wrong, there isn't gonna be a big victory for either side, just you guys repeating yourselves on and on.
I mean, more power to you, you are free to do so and have fun and etc etc.

I haven't for reals in a couple days because I've been sick, trying to get the Nightfall and stuff done regardless. not the most fun when it's especially slow this week with no burn, I'll admit.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

So... at some point in the early 2015 the DLC maps will be added to the regular rotation. I would hope so.
I'm still wondering how they accomplish this... if you're in matchmaking with someone who doesn't have the DLC and then a DLC map comes into the rotation, how will it deal with that? Also, I'm glad that I got the class item for both my Warlock and Titan before they removed it from the free chest.
In the past, bungie made it so people with DLC would be more likely to match up with other people with DLC. If matchmaking made a group that had 1 or more people without the DLC, then those maps were removed from the map pool.
It was a good way to make sure that the playerbase wasn't split, but it made the DLC maps somewhat rare.
Hope you guys got some good Crota drops. And I hope you got shards, too.
New maps on Control were pretty interesting - I still don't love Skyshock, but it's much better on Control than Clash, and I enjoy Pantheon and Cauldron - but the tiny maps coming to Control is a really nice surprise. That'll be a blast.
It's Friday tomorrow/now, guys! Thank god. Looking forward to some late-night Crucible to make up for lost time going to bed early and being lame. And Xur's coming! Let's hope he has some cool stuff. I'm hoping for a Gjallarhorn or a Hard Light.
Couldn't get into a real rhythm with Hawkmoon tonight, even though I have it somewhat upgraded. It made me want to try the other handcannons a bit more. But the jury's still out.
I think Destiny is going to continue to serve the hardcore audience that is okay with the massive repetition the endgame requires. Though that may be a dwindling audience, my experience on this and other forums is that there are still Guardians hard at work eeking out those last few light levels, and the dissenters have largely abandoned the conversation completely. So here's that lonely dissenter opinion, dropped back in the game after almost two months away for that free "Legendary" weapon, why not? Got a cool sniper rifle, but dived in to try it out and Destiny Ennui hit hard almost right away. Oh here I am doing these same levels shooting these same baddies again, it just felt so impossibly tired. I really wonder if the hardcore players that don't care about the suffocating grind "because playing with my mates is grand fun!" will sustain this game throughout 2015.

I mean I don't have a problem with "dissent" or whatever but I do have a problem when people like you who phrase your "dissent" in such a smug and masturbatory manner. I want you to take two seconds outside of your own mind and realize that people can enjoy, legitimately enjoy things that you don't. Just take two seconds to realize that and let it seep in. The people "sustaining" the game aren't all hardcore players doing all their bounties 3 times over every day. I have more than one friend who will log in maybe once every few days. I also have friends who log in every day to do the "suffocating grind" (lol again at your phrasing) because some people just like stuff like this (as popular MMOs and ARPGS have proved for years). The people on here don't make up the majority, nor do the people on reddit, or blah blah etc.
There are a lot of people who have stopped playing because of reasons you mention, and then there are a lot of people who just don't see the game as you do. The difference between the two is one of them doesn't pop by once a month to talk down to people and act as if they see something in the game that others are just too ignorant to see, or that people are only managing to play a game because of "mates" and that's the only way they could still be playing.

Well, Lucky Raspberry goes all the way up to a whopping 160 INT (I still have an unupgraded one that goes to 157).
Starfire Protocol has the same 155 INT like the one last week, which is reasonably high.
I need to go Exclusion Zone farming because the Helm of Saint-14 goes to 127 INT, which is huge on a helmet (highest stat I've seen on a helmet was 130); it's also 26 more than my current upgraded Saint-14...
I upgrade for 26 more points, yes I do
The Skullfort that is sold has a higher stat than the upgrade (but both stats are still lower than my unupgraded Skullfort ), so buy instead of upgrading.
The Apotheosis Veil upgrade has 124 DISC, which is pretty high for a helmet...
I upgraded my Thorn, because screw that void PvP thing again...
But I want to upgrade my MIDA Multi-Tool and the Monte Carlo too (yup, PS4 people can upgrade Monte Carlo).
Starfire protocol again. I don't thing we've ever seen the warlock chest everyone wants for sale. Think there's a helm that's never been offered as well.
