My dilemma is that I want both the Skullfort and The Last Word, I only have 16 coins, and I've already done the Weekly at 28. I can get three more if I go back through at 30, but that's still four short for TLW and I've no chance of getting enough to buy both, so unless tomorrow's Crucible activity makes it rain like a pirate in a stripclub, I will have to be content leaving something on the shelf.

I'm thrilled with all these changes, specifically Ir Yut getting the Exotic portion of the chest. It was absurd that she wasn't a reward-giving encounter. I feel like she's actually pretty easy, but maybe that's because

Besides the weekly, you mean? Well, the NF can kick you in the balls and give you coins. Other than that, it's Strike farming for Engrams and hoping to get lucky or create another character of the same class, level their ass to 20 ASAP and run the Weekly with them.

Great work on Crota last night Motorboat Kitten! I was able to get the ship, another set of gauntlets and another set of boots! Those 63 sweet, sweet shards won't elude me forever. Man I have to get some coins fast. i need to upgrade those arms of whatshisface and get that skullfort helm.

I guess it cheaper to upgrade my Last word than buying a new one. Not sure if I should care about the warlock robe or the hunter chest. Upgrading plan C, MIDA are possibilities, hard light are a possibility... Disapointed that for the second week in a row, we can gamble on exotic engrams. I miss that.

Damn, I just spent the last half hour bashing my head against the lvl 28 weekly with no luck, so I guess strike farming is my only shot.

Last night Shoebox ran me through the Nightfall and I snagged The Devil You Don't (with field scout and extra damage after reload). It would have paired nicely with one of the other HCs I still have: The Devil You Know.
This is probably the one time I wish I could duel wield in this game.
I've gotten only 3 shards from Crota himself 3 times in a row now.

In my day we had to raid uphill both ways in the driving rain whilst being pelted with three damage types, all burns, from legions of armoured knights, wizards, and ogres. Then Crota would murder us to sleep if we were lucky.
I soloed the weekly, with the help of the newly discovered chandelier hiding spot.
I still need 4 more coins, though, and I think the most assured method of earning them would be to get my level 11 titan to 20. I already have the gear to get to a base of +102 light, plus the coin chest on Mars.

I snagged an arc machine gun so I'm pretty happy. I've been hoping for a good arc heavy for months. And it feels like it's been ages since I had a worthwhile weapon to level.
Welp. Guess it's time to max out the Regime and Secret Handshake, upgrade my Saint-14 and get to farming.
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

Doing bounties while advancing the stories is suprisingly fast. Your character is level 11. You only need 9 more levels. Depending on your playtime, some could get it done in a weekend. Most human being would get it done in a week or so. I guess it all depends on how much you want that gun.
On the other hand, you can try your lock at just running strikes Vanguard Roc, doing crucible. There are also some chest on some planets that automatically gives strange coins (I think the 5th golden chest on mars does) like you already did. No idea if chest on other plants provide a going coin as well.
Everytime you turn in an engram, there is a chance it will turn into a strange coing so the Vanguard Roc are a good option. Also, once a day, if you do a public event with 3 gold stars, you receive a gift at the post office (only for the first time of the day per character). There is a good chance the reward with either be shard, energy, coin or mote of light.
I went through this assle the first time the Suro went on sale. I barely made it with the needed coins before Xur left. That was good inscentive to level more alts. Even if yours alts are only used to run the nightfall and weekly, they are still worth it for it.

@JusticeforPluto has some experience with Hard Light, maybe he can chime in on its pvp usage.
Also thread, I now love thorn. Using the dot to track opponents when they hide is really useful for long distance engagements.
Fortunately, being poor this week didn't bite me in the ass.
I will be back for Iron Banner, though. I kind of miss the crucible.
