Magic the Gathering: Fun Edition

in PAX South
I am looking to bring my "fun" Magic decks to play and thought others might like to also.

Waiting in lines and between events would be a perfect time to get in some quick, fun games.

No restrictions on what you bring to play.

I would like to stress that the goal is fun. Please don't bring your tournament deck. Please don't come looking for an ego boost or other type of validation.

Do bring your themed decks. Do bring your silly decks. Do bring your pauper decks.

Now, when and where folks? Throw out those ideas!

    Is a Kaalia of the Vast EDH deck still considered unfun? if so I will come up something else, maybe a hydra tribal... I also plan on bringing a fun modern and standard deck or two. My group is staying at the hotel attached to the convention center, might be able to find some place there to play.

    Kaalia is probably okay, since it's mostly a big-creature deck and she doesn't have much evasion.

    Sen Triplets on the other hand ....

    I am liking the idea of a 5 color hydra tribal edh deck, don't know if I will have enough time to get it together... Wonder if there will be any near by (or at PAX) Release Day tournaments for Fate Reforged?

    Check the schedule! There are several sealed tournaments going on at PAX.

    I'll be bringing some (older) Commander decks and would love to play. I haven't been following the forums closely; are there any Commander events going on I can join? I took my decks to PAX East a few years ago but never found a game.

    Wizards has 4-player commander events on-demand at South.

    What's the policy on people who are new-ish? I've played a good deal of MTG 2013 and 2014 on PC, but I've never actually played with physical cards. I was wondering how tolerated I would be if I took the swag bag deck I got from Pax Prime '13 and the deck I assume I will get in the swag back at South and slap them together? I may also need a little hand-holding tracking all of the effects that are in play, since on PC it's done for me... Okay or GTFO?

    I scouted the bar area of the Grand Hyatt earlier and didn't see anyone gaming. I'm at a board game night with friends right now, but I'd love to plan a Magic meet-up at the Grand Hyatt another day. I'm good for Commander or Draft.

    Some friends and I played Commander in the Grand Hyatt last night. If anyone wants to get together and draft, let me know! We have packs, and much prefer doing our own drafts over entering a tournament.

    We are going to do the 2hg at 2pm, though. 2hg is hard to come by.
