I didn't start the fire. It was always burning since the world's been turning.

I know it's supposed to be The Choice for dark and stormys but I don't care for goslings much overall. I'd say stick with the dark and stormys, or uhhh I dunno man I really didn't like goslings. cook things with it like rum sauce for pancakes and waffles. fuck I'm terrible

The perfect drink is a perfect manhattan, on the rocks, with bourbon, slightly more dry vermouth than sweet, slightly more bourbon than a 2:1 ratio, and heavy bitters.

The rocks should be in a separate glass, added periodically.

What about rye instead? I find bourbon to be too sweet in a lot of mixed drinks.

Also, my two favorite fancypants cocktails, plus another:
    http://cocktailvirgin.blogspot.com/2008/05/remember-maine.html
http://www.mixpoursip.com/bar-review-blackbird-bar-san-francisco/dsc00414 (no recipe, just a description, unfortunately)
http://www.cocktailchronicles.com/2009/05/06/3030-20-the-trinidad-sour/ (the bar I go to uses 3/4 oz of bitters, but that's still a lot)

Ooh oh and also The Battle of Trafalgar: http://cocktailvirgin.blogspot.com/2010/04/battle-of-trafalgar.html

First sip of the Tullemore: nice and light, smooth, sweet finish. It gets my wife's stamp of approval, which is rare for a whiskey.

I picked up some Gosling's Black Seal Rum for New Year's (at the advice of my brother, I have more experience with cheap booze than good), still have most of it left. Need to pick up some ginger beer one of these days and start finishing it off, always a big fan of the dark and stormy's.

Best gin I've ever had by a pretty wide margin.

I've heard of that, will give it a shot! This is my current gin of choice:

I'd love to own a distillery and make bargain basement vodka. I'd call it Rotten Guts, all the usual places on the label that say 'premium vodka' on other cheap brands would instead say things like "can also be used to strip paint!", and I would insist that stores stocking it put it on the lowest possible shelf, if not the floor.

I really recommend that people try Charlie Chaplins

    1 part sloe gin
    1 part apricot brandy
    1 part lime juice

Shaken with ice and strained into a martini glass

Sweet and fruity, but still nicely boozy

My new drink of choice... for the limited amount i drink these days... is apparently the Moscow mule.

I guess i just really like ginger in my drinks.

If you like ginger and gin it is basically impossible to go wrong with a Gin Gin Mule. (Though it's a little more complicated than a Moscow Mule.)
1.5 Plymouth gin, 3/4 of lime juice, 1/2 ounce of syrup, 3-4 mint leaves, shake, serve in an iced Collins glass topped with ginger beer

I like a wide range of scotches, but I particularly like the Islay's. Tastes like drinking the ocean.

I have a few right now for my regular after dinner scotch.

Man I said the perfect drink

    I meant the perfect drink!

To be honest rye is nice but with the right bourbon, the dry vermouth and the bitters, it's not too sweet.
