Dammit, this is going to end up being terrible. People have terrible taste and with a vote we'll get less hidden gems that people wouldn't have otherwise tried.
Given how there's a contract and everything with devs/pubs in regards to their games going into the IGC, I'm pretty sure it'll be a lot less "Do you want this game in IGC" and more "Which of these games do you want this month?"
Putting it up for a vote and -then- going to them and saying "Hey, so uh, we need your game for this, is that cool" is obviously not going to happen, nor does it seem likely that they'll go to three different devs/pubs and say "Your game's gonna be in a vote for IGC! So it might be free sometime. Maybe. Or it might never be."

I doubt they're just going to push the other two to the next month, that trend would be easy to spot and would kill sales. Sounds to me like they'll approach x number of devs, ask them if they want to be a part of the vote and if they win, they get in. If not, they get a PS+ discount on the store. That's it. I'm guessing there's a significant amount of demand by indie devs to be a part of it but since they've only got 2 slots per platform a month, there's only a few that actually make the cut. So this is their solution.
It's also worth pointing out that the EU Blog points out that it's not going to be a monthly thing, just something that happens a few times a year (presumably when they've got enough potential titles lined up).

Well, it's possible that the only games in the running will be the same types of games that no one would have otherwise tried.
OK nah fuck The Swindle. I never feel like a death is my fault. It's always the mushy controls or the shit level randomizer.
I really wanted to like it, too. Maybe they'll update it and fix some of the issues with it and I'll play it for an hour and then delete it again. :x
Oh good! I was worried it was just me.
Hahahaaaaa...
About that.
I'm now 4 days from the end of the game. I've been attempting "The Swindle" since day 31. Game's fucking hard, a lot of the time unfairly so. But you can get so powerful that you can kind of counter the unfairness with your own brand of unfairness.
Pretty much requires the use of the "bugs" tool, which allows you to die mid-mission and still count it as a success.
edit: I have a very love/hate relationship with this game. When your patience and planning pay off, it's awesome. But when you get caught while struggling with the controls in an area randomly generated to piss you off, its horrible.

Agreed, I'd rather see more of the games that are hard to categorize and maybe difficult to market properly without getting spoiler-y. Those can be a difficult sell when they're up against an up-res of a last-gen game or a console release of a PC game with no surprises left to offer. And I'm really not interested in being subjected to a bunch of "vote for this game" politicking by the community.
Same principle as curated playlists. I couldn't be less interested in the Top 40 hits, give me someone's oddball, cobbled-together mixtape any day.

I did it! Had to buy some extra days near the end there. I probably attempted The Swindle about 10 times, and had a bunch of stupid deaths, but I did it.
If you want to jump back in, you may want to wait for a patch. I tweeted Curve and Dan Marshall, and they're both working on a patch/update. No timeline or indication of what it will include, but Dan essentially said he's working on some control changes. Again, nothing concrete. But maybe they'll hammer out some of the rough edges. Fingers crossed.
It's a fun game at its core, but it has some issues that need to be addressed before I can really endorse it.
Decided to give Shadow Warrior a go today. For the 7 bucks I paid for it, it's the perfect little old school-style FPS gem for a Sunday afternoon. At that price, it's all love. Also got Metro: Last Light, which I'll play after it, for an even lower price.
Looking foward to next week's Summer Sales. Galak-Z looks quite promising as well. Good times are ahead.

You were right - "get the bug upgrade" should flash on the screen every time you start a heist after the slums. It changes the game.

So hey, are you ready for an incredibly diverse edition of The Drop?
Aeternoblade, PS4 — Digital
Boggle, PS4 — Digital
The Castle Game, PS4 — Digital
Galak-Z: The Dimensional, PS4 — Digital
Submerged, PS4 — Digital
Trans-Galactic Tournament, PS4 — Digital
Because you don't get one.
Everything is PS4 and PS4 only this week which is a real surprise and all of it is digital-only as well.
Galak-Z is coming out this week for everyone that's excited about it and it's pretty much where the Lion's Share of attention is going to go. There's some interest in Submerged and I've heard of Aeternoblade since it's already available on Vita (with a demo, even) but that's...about all I can say for this week, really.
It was torture watching streamers fumble their way through Galak-Z last night, complaining about the controls, complaining that it's a Roguelike and generally sucking. I gave it 25 minutes after it unlocked last night, before crashing - it's awesome. This work day will be interminable.
Galak-Z, Galak-Z!

Made it through the first "season" on my first try last night. Had to cut myself off after that, since it was after midnight already and I'm an old man.
Got to 1-4, had 700 space bucks and bought an temp shield and a HP repair at a quick stop and dove in to hot lava 2 seconds later; shield gone one health bar gone and finished the level broke and with 2 health bars.
Hoping on getting an easier mission since I only had 2 health and 2 shields, I got exactly the same mission.
Ugh, I thought the PC release for Galak Z was at the same time as PS4, but it turns out its still months away. Sometimes I really hate being a PC gamer.
Atleast from what I can tell from Jodo's video the game looks as freakin awesome as I have been hoping it would.

10 November. Right in between CallaDoody and Battlefront.

I mean
The game won't cease to exist or whatever
You'll just have to actually pay for it now

Galak-Z, Galak-Z!
That would certainly lend itself well to a Musou-style game, but I can only hope more effort would be put toward it than the boring 3DS game.

My starting attempts at Season Two are up as well but didn't want to clog things up.
Hoping on getting an easier mission since I only had 2 health and 2 shields, I got exactly the same mission.
Galak-Z isn't out in PAL regions until tomorrow for no obvious reason.
There's some other stuff too I guess, but not much.

CastleStorm is a terrible name and has me thinking it's a tower defense game of some sort
Is this correct or is it something actually worth looking into?
Though I do still have this sweet 17bit pin on my cube wall. I should probably buy it.
