Out of the office window I saw 494. At 2:30-3 it was crazy, everybody was trying to "beat the rush" and leaving early to get home. At 5, there were very few cars on the road.
Finally back in Minnesota after delaying my flight home a day to avoid yesterday's storm.
I think I've decided I'm done trusting the airport taxis. Last time I flew in the guy "forgot" to start his meter and told me it would probably be an amount that was more than it actually would have been. Then today the driver first took us the long way home (still being new to the area and not completely knowing my way around I didn't realize it until it had already happened), and followed that up by telling me I didn't give him enough while he thumbed two bills I had given him together. So it's uber for me from here on out.

yeah, last airport taxi i took pulled something similar. told me that he was off the clock but would give me a good deal so he wasnt going to turn the meter on. then when he dropped me off he was like, thats 50$ cash. theres no way it should have been 50 and he also didnt tell me it would be cash cause i dont carry any. it didnt go well. ended up taking me to an atm and then charging me for that too.

My favorite Airport Taxi incident was from Boston Logan to Brighton, MA. That should be, maybe forty bucks and I had done that trip a dozen or so times and this random guy said it was $80. I said I didn't have enough on me, but I did in my bags. I got out, got my bags out, handed him $40 and just walked to my building. He didn't do anything and I never used anything but Uber after that.

How true that is we'll never know.
