Due to either my paranoia about preorders or I was drunk at the time of purchase, I have some extras.
So here are my extras (minus the Ike, I believe). I'll post later bout giving them to you guys so everyone gets a fair shake. Only thing I would ask would be $13.74 (12.99 + tax) and shipping which is usually 3-5 bucks.

So should I open up Mega man? I really want to, but it seems like he's still hard to find, which means he could be worth money, same question for Sonic.

both of those two were only really rare because of the port strike, and are slowly making their way to stores

like, they're both back in the $24 range on amazon right now

I would not count on the prices going anywhere but down

I've mentioned it before, but 'discontinued' at Target doesn't mean it'll be gone forever. 2DS's were discontinued temporarily for us, but they're obviously still around, and are now considered active. There are so many reasons why something goes discontinued.

Of course, with the Nintendo stuff lately? Man, I have no clue what's up there.

Can't speak for all stores but Target has a history of not giving a single fuck about this sort of thing. For example, they frequently break release dates for Magic the Gathering cards and other collectible games, and when people call them on it... nothing.

As a target employee, we don't stock TCGs, they are provided by a separate vendor who stocks the shelves him/herself. Our computers will not let us sell Street dated stuff early unless someone flubbed it way up the chain.

Currently missing from my collection:
Pit, Dedede, Metaknight, Lucario.

Can't decide if I should make Pit or MK a higher priority.

Gamestop FINALLY got in my wave 3 stuff. Well, kinda -- they got in a grand total of one Dedede and they had like a dozen preorders. So it's looking like no Dedede for me.

Also, they managed to forget and put my Megaman on the shelf -- fortunately it was still there when I got it, but if I was the type to keep it in the box I'd be pissed it had the sticker on it.

If their system works the way it has the last two go-rounds, I expect to get my text notification that my amiibos came in on Thursday. Gawd, I hope the Amazon alerts I set up work.

I kinda want a Ness because of my obsessive love of Earthbound, but c'mon Nintendo, that's your Ness? Where's his bat? His yo-yo? PK Fire damnit! There's a zillion cooler things they coulda done for poor Ness. (like put his game on the 3DS Virtual Console)

Also I'm guessing Ness will end up unicorn tears rare like many of the others? I should stop paying attention to amiibos...

You know it's probably going to be even more expensive than damn Rosalina because fucking Mother 3 fan translation carts cost somewhere between $30 and $50 on eBay. That's fucking insane. Can you report those kinds of listings? Because I would sure like to. And they sell...

My mistake is hesitating on preordering any of these things right away. This time I won't make that mistake. I want the majority of this wave, and then afterward, I'm pretty much done with Amiibo collecting. I'll grab one or two that I really want, but I'm going to kinda bow out after Wave 4. This set of figures are way too stressful due to Nintendo's horrible release schedule and scalpers ruining any chance of actually finding them.

I just want my toys Nintendo! Is that too much to ask?

I'll probably stick with the Smash line (assuming it continues), since there's no way I can pass up Smash-style Ganondorf and Bowser Jr. But yeah, I might be done after that, especially if the Mario line is an indication of the quality going forward.

They're kind of married to using the Smash Bros poses. And like it or lump it, that's his pose in the game.

For the most part, I agree, the Smash line is awesome. Even after bowing out from overly worrying about collecting them I'll still grab ROB, Duck Hunt, Bowser Jr, and Greninja because they are awesome and when will we ever see another officially licensed toy of some of these characters. :P

On the other hand, Toad is great and I have him preordered, and I actually prefer the Yoshi and Peach of the Mario line even with the lesser detail. :P

Is there any place offering updates on when the Amiibo waves hit? Some kind of actual email notification would be great. I'm fine missing most of these but I really want to get in on the Ness figure, and I'm thinking the window on grabbing one will be more than a little limited.

Looking at that art, I can already tell the Olimar amiibo is going to look like shit. All those fine details on the Pikmin hands and bulbs will have to be fattened out so they don't snap off. And how do you do the little dealy-bopper on Olimar's helmet? (my suggestion would be clear pink)
