Also, Gnome/Name bought me a copy of this game before I could get out of class and do it myself.

they've written a surprising amount of dialog for this game - every class has its own special lines for every affliction. An Illogical Plague Doctor is just downright unnerving.
I'm a bit undecided on the hellion stun. Stunning 2 front row enemies is really strong, but the damage debuff is pretty significant and is going to hurt you the rest of the fight. I think my preference is if there's 4 enemies have the hellion focus on dealing damage try and cut that number down asap, then maybe switch to stunning when its down to 2 and the rest of your party can focus on damage. Pairing with a bounty hunter could shift this around though
seems pretty full fledged as is but twenty bucks is a lot for some early access
but maaaaaaan it looks so cool
you can get a whole lot of enjoyable hours out of it in its current form (saw somebody on the steam forums who's basically maxed out everything... after 43 hours), but it may not be for everyone. It's kind of like an endless dungeon that you go into over and over to progress your heroes and upgrade your town, with a very loose goal of defeating the zone bosses (of which there's 3, each with 3 difficulty tiers). So it's basically a gameplay loop, but that loop is a lot of fun. Plus it looks dope as heck
In JohnHamm's game I became a Drunk then Fated, Beef got to max stress and started sobbing uncontrollably in battle before getting The Runs, and lastly Tank started seeing visions and is now burdened with 'The Yips'
This game has like...Fire Emblem crits where they can easily one-shot an enemy and take nice chunks off your people. The death's door mechanic helps keep this from getting too annoying, but it's definitely a game that expects you to be able to roll with the punches. It's like a dark fantasy RPG where the only god is Nuffle.
Also, is there any kind of fail mechanic to this game? You do have to build up your squad to be tough enough to handle the higher end stuff, and the loss of that squad is basically like a "game over" since you have to find a new group to build up.
The game's classes are cool because they're all interesting, and they seem evenly split so far as gender goes (the Plague Doctor is a woman) and it's not even skewed so far as party roles go.
I don't quite get why the Leper is a class, although his class isn't some goofy thing where he chucks his limbs at people or something. You wouldn't even know he's a leper if not for the name. I guess it's just to add to the grim tone of the game.

nah the lepers are gross crusaders
they harness their bitter hatred of regular dudes and intense piety to be like, holy berserkers
I did read a book once though about a like, regiment? or whatever the fuck they called big groups of infantry guys back in the olden days that was basically the leper, though, as in they were lepers and it was pretty much "send in those gross dudes first"

So I find myself kind of panicking because the game keeps reminding me to do shit tha tI don't know how to do.
SMOF IS NEARLY DEAD YOU SHOULD HEAL THEM
okay how do I
ENEMY ATTACKS SMOF
God dammit, game
Also it's kind of a nuisance with the game telling you OH HEY YOU SHOULD PROBABLY REST YOUR DUDES AFTER A MISSION
without actually telling me I'm not allowed to use the buildings that let me do that until I take everyone on a second mission while they're tired and complaining.
Okay guys I know this is a roguelike, but we live in an age where it's not hard to fucking convey information and it'd be nice to know how the god damn game works before I start losing teammates.

the leper is someone who is sick, and therefore fights with reckless abandon. there is a reason why "take off mask" adds stress to other people. cause you're covered in gross boils and shit.
There's a reason i don't send them to the brothel. No one deserves to have that set on them.

That is a sentence.
he's there to mess up your flow
gotta go embark on a mission and he'll move someplace else when you get back
i don't care how stressed you are get the hell out of my brothel
Also having someone die in the last fight of a dungeon is always disheartening.
Easy to get over, but man, fuck.

Unlike Beseiged, which is still like 1.5 to 2 years out from full release

it's not clear whether or not you're actually going to another plane, but
Insanity is a bitch in this game. It can spiral out of control quickly.

That could be your new av and sig right there.
Also Grave Robbers seem awful. I really haven't gotten them to work for me yet.
You can retreat from fights.
Ooooooooooh...
