I like to think Reggie didn't play games, but now he is playing through the entire Nintendo catalog in chronological order, for research. He never sleeps. Work then games. Like, he's gonna start Mario 64 later this year and his mind is just going to be blown.
Do you think Reggie Fils-Aime actually plays games
I can never decide if he's actually invested in games themselves or if Nintendo is just another business he works at, like VH1 and Pizza Hut
I definitely lean towards the latter
He does. The guy is a legit Nintendo fan but hes smart enough to keep that under control and do his job. If it was just a job he wouldnt work so hard to be a public face of the company or take part in all the little reindeer games like E3 videos.
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
I don't think it actually matters whether or not Reggie plays games. He's a marketing person. It's fine if he doesn't
But, that said
When he claims to have really enjoyed Link to the Past when he was younger, I believe him
Well yeah I know it doesn't
But generally you can pretty quickly tell which suits are there for business and which are actually passionate about the medium
Iwata was actually at one point a programmer for Nintendo, he almost singlehandedly fixed up Earthbound into the game it is today when it ran into development troubles
Just what drives me crazy is that Reggie is directly in the middle so I can't tell

Reggie is kind of the consummate marketing guy - like, he's big into marketing. He's a good marketer.
I personally think he probably does play games, but the level of passion he has or doesn't have would never come through just because he's such a marketing guy
So. Club Nintendo problem. Have spent 2x150 coins on Super Mario Land, by accident. Still haven't received anything. Inquiring into possibility of canceling one of the orders. Suggestions?
except for all those changes the 3ds remake is making to make it better
I mean those are minor perks, they're nice to have but I haven't been sitting here for 15 years saying "mm really needs a different save system and touch screen inventory controls"

Whereas ww has a few actual design flaws (IMO)
What do you think the design flaws of WW are? Out of curiousity.
Also, the mechanic for making statues of yourself in Majora's Mask is way more offensive than the iron boots in Ocarina of Time ever were.
I hope that they changed the way that works for the 3DS version.

I'm gonna level with folks.
While I like WW aesthetically a whole bunch, gameplay wise I think it might be the weakest 3D Zelda. None of the dungeons are very good, there aren't nearly enough, and the overworld is too sparse to make up for it. Yeah The Great Sea is big, but most of those spaces only have 1 thing to do on them. Hell, the different reefs basically don't have anything to do, and there are 6 of those.
I also think the counter move in WW is pretty bad. It's very one note and trivializes almost all the enemies. Even the 100 Trials cave in WW is made into a cake walk by the counter. Compare to Twilight Princess, where the final few floors of its Cave of Trials are legitimately hard and challenging, and much more fun to play thanks to TP's more varied combat.
If I had had the control issues a lot of people seem to have with Skyward Sword I'd probably put it at the bottom of the list, but SS's controls worked fine for me. Even then, I might rank SS above it just because it has my favourite Zelda dungeon ever, Ancient Cistern.
I think the main selling point of the new 3DS is quality of life improvements and not exclusives. Besides, exclusives seem a silly idea when the majority of users are going to have old 3DS.
That doesn't mean what you think it means, it's excluded from the program where Nintendo shares money with the channel who posts the video. Nintendo takes all of the ad revenue of Smash Bros videos and maybe just shuts the video down anyways.

I seem to remember he was apparently really formidable at the wii sports tennis
I think that he might be into the games but he thinks (and may be right in) that he doesn't really want to get up and play some games in a public and mediocre/regular way because people would use that and call him fake or unqualified or whatever.

I really like Majora's Mask but it has the same problem that I find Wind Waker has.
Could use more dungeons. People say Wind Waker is short on dungeons and always seem to overlook Majora's Mask which has a measly four.

Xenoblade is out for New 3DS April 10th
So that's a full 2 months between the release of the New 3DS and the first exclusive game for it

There were no multiplayer elements to be found in the first Xenoblade
WW doesn't even have a truly bad minigame in it, which is a minor miracle
Oh.
That's bad.
