I only just caught the premiere. I loved, loved, loved it.
I loved the black and white intro. I loved Jonathan Banks' intro. I loved how slow it was, how the prosecutor slowly dragged the tv to the centre of the courtroom and inserted the tape. I loved the way it was shot. But most of all, I loved Bob Odenkirk.
Tuco's appearance I could have done without though. I think they should have saved the Breaking Bad alums for a little later. Jonathan Banks I'm okay with since he's a series regular.
Every episode keeps being better than the previous one. Hooked!
Three ways I see this going from here
1) Jimmy does the boyscout thing and brings the Kettlemans and the money back. Kettlemans go to jail, Nacho's exonerated, nobody gets any money but everybody's safe. Kids go to a foster family though, oh well.
2) Jimmy takes a bribe from the Kettlemans and forgets he saw anything. Kettlemans are safe, Jimmy's rich, but Nacho's crew is pissed and the cops and the firm have some questions for Jimmy. This gets him into the most trouble.
3) Jimmy helps the Kettlemans stash the money somewhere and then brings them back home. Jimmy maybe takes a cut for doing that (100%?), but Nacho's exonerated, the Kettlemans probably don't go to jail since nobody can find the money, and Jimmy gets to move out of the beauty salon.
I think 3 is by far the most likely.

So sad that the stuff on the AMC website requires a sign in now. Might actually get an iTunes pass or Amazon one for it.

Breaking Bad had this 'je ne sais quoi'. As many badass moments and plot twists as that show had, what I really fell in love with was the aesthetic, the way they framed shots, the music, the pacing, the way they wouldn't move forward until they had wrung every possible drop of tension from a given situation. It's why I liked the show more than, say, Game of Thrones.
Better Call Saul has all of that. It's different in tone, but that mise en scène is still there.
I love the fact that I can watch it on german netflix, legally, in original language, on the day it airs in the US.
I love you, netflix.
Also, third episode, so good.
Turns out the cops did miss something! Hope he gets his pineapple fruit basket.
Love the fact that Mike basically did the cop work in a stairwell between being annoyed and being bored, without really thinking too much.

bleh. It only took like two episodes for Walter to become a cook. I was kind of expecting a similar arc. Although I will stipulate that Jimmy's life was much more interesting pre-crime
but interesting enough for an entire season? It would be major blue balls to not have a reveal of his new identity until next year

Jonathan fucking Banks, everyone.
I'm having a really hard time remembering if an episode of TV has ever left me feeling as shredded as Better Call Saul did this week. I've been a lot of things after an episode of TV, but can't remember ever actually dropping tears.
Also, way to fucking go, Chuck. Because you know what the best thing to do to a career criminal who's legitimately trying to turn his life around is? Tell him he's shit and that no matter what he does, that he can't possibly become a better person.

Shows that Mike is a guy who knows his shit.
The payphone scene in episode 3 was Classic That.
Trying to figure out how Jimmy establishing his crummy legit law business leads us to Saul Goodman, but not seeing it yet

They can and are playing the long game
Well, followed by a dong.
Pretty sure once we get back to Nacho that'll be a big part of it.
Also whatever's going on with Mike is gonna play into that.
I want it all
You're so big!
I had to pause during that scene so I wouldn't laugh over all of it.

But this is just, pure emotional pain, delivered flawlessly straight to the heart.
Good god damn, Jonathan Banks. Give this man every award. Hell, make up awards to give to this man.

That was rough to watch.
