I went from ready for my second Sunless Sea captain to die and start in on the next one with the headstart he'd have. But now I'm beginning to fear it, because I've actually managed to uncover large parts of the map and upgrade the ship a bit, and get some work done on the individual officer stories.
My current captain, third one, could retire pretty easily but there's a good amount of things still left to do that could make things easier for his child and some are mutually exclusive.
And then there's stuff like wanting to deliberately become a cannibal so I can take part in an event to infiltrate kill off some cannibal pirates to help some soul stealing apes. I'm sure I will not regret that chain of events in the slightest.

To compound the problem I think I may have lost my scion. I uh was having an affair with one of my officers so my wife left me and took the kid. Which doesn't quite make sense since I thought the kid had already left to go be a zailor too. But I dunno. I guess we'll see when I die.
Resident Evil 5 Gold rated for Steam. Which means likely that GFWL removal is coming soon and the Gold likely implies we are finally getting the DLC after all these years.
Hm. This Fantasy Grounds thing that just popped in my recommendations looks neat, as a way to keep track of everything a DM needs to keep track of and so on, given I run a couple of games, but that's some price tag.
And this gets back to Molyneux's quote about the "let's just say anything" nature of Kickstarter projects. When the site doesn't give a penny to projects that don't meet their minimum stated goal, developers are naturally going to lowball their budgets (consciously or unconsciously) to maximize their chances of getting any funds at all. Faced with a skeptical public and competition from dozens of other projects (many with established developers behind them), Kickstarter projects are also going to be as optimistic as possible regarding promised features in order to attract those backers. Being sober and realistic, in this case, is bad for business.

Best Valentine's Day ever!
Thank you very much for Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, you pink pixelated classassin!

This game is turning out to be a mix of Star Control 2 and Crusader Kings.
I still have my kid but I may have helped anarchists blow up the admirality office. This probably accelerates the time table to wrap up this captain's career since fuel costs are going to start seriously chipping into funds without port reports.
On the plus side, I seem to have unlocked one of the items that boosts the rest of your line when this captain ends his career.
I would like to motion that we change Valentines day's designation from "A day of love" to "A say where all the miserable people go to walmart to make sure everyone else is as miserable as they are"
Since I'm in such a foul goddamn mood, I'm gonna make sure you are too.
There. I hope you and your friends/loved ones die. Of starvation.

Well @Iolo , I finished Divinity Original Sin! What a great game! Every fight manages to be challenging right up to the end! The trick to that game is definitely CC! The story was ok and the execution could have been a little better since there were times I was not at all sure how things were connected. I went the whole game without using a bloodstone and then suddenly I needed to have used a bunch to unlock a door. Other than that quibble I really enjoyed the party dynamics! I never did change my party and went through the whole game with a setup that most games would kill me for, a 2h warrior, archer, and 2 mages. But with the CC, it was most definitely doable.
Thanks for recommending that RPG! Now off to another game. Maybe Talisman or Tails of the Sky.
So if anyone was waiting for Carmageddon: Reincarnation, it moved from alpha into beta today. It's a full game now, with a career mode and everything. The AI needs some tweaks but the game's solid!
I was a lot more positive on it at the start but the mission design kinda tanks in the latter half of the game. So many areas are just jam packed with enemies. Like there's one mission where Arno is drunk and he just wants to steal some wine from a shitty bar. This bar is guarded by like 12 guys for some reason. Side missions often have an absurd amount too and distracting or sneaking would end up so laborious that the direct approach is much easier. They also seem freakishly perceptive. Ubisoft AI is not the smartest generally but in most games are pretty fun to fight. They find you, and they'll stick to that area generally, and you'll be able to flank them and whatnot. In Unity they don't seem smarter in a normal sense but in a computer cheating sense, with ridiculous vision distances. Pretty dumb when you DO have them distracted but often getting into position to do so will expose you too.
Give the gear focus of the game Ubisoft wasted a good opportunity to make their 1000 treasure chests relevant. Make secrets relevant again Ubisoft! Nobody wants to loot 200 in currency from 50 different chests in a small area. Would've made gearing up a lot more fun if it wasn't all just buying it from the menu for the most part (a few are found from murder mysteries, story, and co-op quests). This is a thing with Ubi in general, they let you have everything from the store and generally their currencies are irrelevant for like 70 percent of the game beyond convenient stocking up of ammo. Bring back cool shit to find, AAA game devs. Take a page from Dying Light which has secrets like stasis grenades and artillery strikes. Too many games just give you experience points or gold.
Story ends kind of abruptly too, especially the modern day storyline. I liked Arno and Elise for the most part, at least, and the Marquis De Sade is fun. Most of the other historical characters (like Napoleon) seem barely present and make me wonder why they bothered.
Also, if you ever need a game to really show you what Gsync is capable of, this is it. Even on good hardware the game tends to hover in the 45-60 fps range, bouncing back and forth. Gsync makes those moments much smoother. Still kinda jarring if it ever hits below 40ish though. But I'm a believer now.

That's awesome, @ToyD. I'm glad you enjoyed your 78 hour ride.
Hey, people who have finished BI: Burial at Sea, does the stealth stuff at the start of the second episode end? I'm maybe a half hour in and very much not digging the sneaking around, unfortunately.

It's a stealth game the entire way through but you'll get a lot of goodies to make it more fun and let you play more aggressively.

Nope. BatS II is all about stealth. I mean, you'll get better weapons and might be able to take on guys 1v1, but you're never going to clear a room like Booker did in the main game.
hey should I get dreamfall chapters if I was one of the people that really wanted dreamfall chapters to come out or is it better for people who only kinda sorta wanted dreamfall chapters to come out
Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

Who are these people that only sorta wanted it to come out and where can I find them so they can be marked?
The Escapists is for whatever reason, locked at 45 FPS. This isn't a huge deal for me when it comes to most games, but this game is heavily mouse driven and seeing a mouse cursor running at 45 hz after a decade of being on at least a 60hz monitor is making a part of my brain twitch. I guess I've never noticed that pretty much any low FPS game I've played tends to be on a controller, or at least one without a cursor.

Oh. Forgot to memtion, thecgift is for the frontier pack, which contains a giftable copy of don't starve together, and a copy of the base don't starve. I don't think that's giftable though.

For those interested in the game, but too slow for @Zxerol's generous offer:
Kind of interesting to see that Evolve doesn't appear to be doing too well on Steam. Release weekend for a multiplayer-only game and its player count isn't even in the top 15?

I just emerged from a traumatizing foray into Darkest Dungeon to discover now I will be defending dungeons instead, courtesy of @PierceNeck... wooo!
You're totally wrong though - this will definitely get played. I adored the first game (and even managed to beat the entire campaign solo). This is on the short list of "things to play."
My personal nickname for the second one (I've seen it before) is "the Mincer."
I don't really have a name or response to the first beyond maniacal laughter.

Besiege is incredible, I just wish I were better at it. To be fair, I did create something that was essentially a lawnmower, just a huge platform with about 12 wheels and sawblades underneath, which I've nicknamed Krueger's Dream Machine. I also attached armour to every part of it, so as soon as I started it up, the framerate chugged like crazy, but it was worth it just to see all the soldiers throwing themselves underneath the beast in a vain attempt to destroy it.
It did eventually come a cropper somehow, and broke into two or three parts, throwing chunks of metal into the sky, which then came raining down on the remaining soldiers, killing enough of them to win the level. Yeah, Besiege is alright!

The Battle of Nine Hordes... holy shit. Three straight game days (and two real-life game nights) to get through it. Such awesome, so wow.
Scarred but vastly more experienced, we survived. I can only imagine what lies ahead after that amazing sequence.

The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
My guess is that it would default to a 1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2 pattern of frames which seems like it would be really jarring.
