Between Besiege and Infinifactory, I can build all the weirdo stuff that I want.
Also, I don't know how the coding for achievements works, but I know it bothers me when one doesn't fire when it is supposed to. I'm bothered enough that I'm considering downloading Steam Achievement Manager to make it right when I'm done with the game.
Has anyone else in the Steam Beta update had major issues recently? The whole UI has become completely non-responsive. I'm going to opt out and see if that fixes it. Hopefully that was the issue.
Kind of interesting to see that Evolve doesn't appear to be doing too well on Steam. Release weekend for a multiplayer-only game and its player count isn't even in the top 15?
I think a lot of people were put off by the DLC thing.
The open beta didn't help that game because there's sadly...not much there. A lot of my friends who I've put hundreds and hundreds of hours into l4d with are interested, played the beta and basically decided "that was okay, but I have no desire to play more."
wait.
you're saying you bought a game... in a box... at a store.
The only 3 physical copies of PC games I bought in the past decade all came with a steam key. Enemy Within probably does as well. I guess it is useful if my steam account ever gets compromised and Valve wants some proof it is really my account.
I don't really miss boxes too much. Though admittedly those big boxes PC games came in 2 decades ago were pretty cool.
I just emerged from a traumatizing foray into Darkest Dungeon to discover now I will be defending dungeons instead, courtesy of @PierceNeck... wooo!
You're totally wrong though - this will definitely get played. I adored the first game (and even managed to beat the entire campaign solo). This is on the short list of "things to play."
Thank you!
I kinda felt like I had to make up for the fact that I bought you NekoPara.
wait.

Yeah, I didn't think it happened anymore either, but occasionally Target's clearance isle has a random gem like Enemy Within: insanely cheap AND steam key included

The last game I bought from a store was a few months ago, when I managed to grab a copy of Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast for €10. Sega is apparently in an evil covenant with game stores to make me buy games on disc. But it's Outrun. Outrun is the light.
One of my favorite things to do in Besieged is to put one of those impact bombs inside whatever machine I make, with at least 1 block of space between it and the other edges of the machine. That way, I can go about my normal destructive business, and if soldiers manage to destroy my machine the bomb will fall to the ground, detonate in a big ass explosion and send heavy shrapnel in every direction as one last, giant "FUCK YOU" to my enemies.
I first found entertainment from this from the perimeter wall mission early on, where a wall of archers stands between you and two buildings you need to destroy. My machine ended up destroyed, but the bomb inside sent chunks of my machine into the air, and they landed in such a way as to land on and destroy both my targets. I wish I was recording it.
I just played a good amount of Mount Your Friends with a friend of mine and wow. That was fantastic fun. Really poorly made game, but we had a blast playing it. Definitely recommended if you're using voice chat.

Played this with fiancee over christmas. In a year that included bayonetta 2, captain toad and pokemon... this was her game of the year. So much fun.

Is that a block that breaks? If so, jump and keep holding the jump button and it should do a small double jump once he lands on the block and it breaks.

I love the straining sounds when you're manipulating your dude in some impossible fashion. It's no wonder these guys are shaped like blocks though, their core-strength is utterly immense
Anybody know how to update your CC billing info on the Humble Bundle store? I recently changed my billing address but I can't locate how to change that on the store site. Is it linked to your Steam somehow?
I gave it like 25 tries and then gave up. Maybe theres another item that makes me, I dunno, bounce more or something.
jump closer from the edge, it's a really tricky jump
Really? Man.
I mean, I figured out how to damage boost to get the blaze of souls spell without having the mermaid and then I kinda hit a wall with that jump (at 52% complete)
The game freezes if you go through the dark rooms without the torch, or whatever lights it up. And I got another damage boost in the house of ruth to get a heart container. But I can't get that jump.

Thanks for the help.
You have double jump yeah? You can jump after landing on a breakable block too.
wait.

I ended up doing that with Starcraft 2. Granted, at the time I was unemployed and only had physical cash. So digital purchase was out of the question at that moment.
... I honestly can't think of one I've bought since... at least until the Collectors Edition of Homeworld Remastered comes out later this month.

O great Steam Thread, I call upon your omniscience and invoke the sacred rites in assisting a thread denizens need to find a very specific kind of game. O Steam Thread, I call upon thee!
My missus sent me a txt this morning saying that the world she's spent dozens of hours making in a Sims 3 mod has had its save file corrupted, and all her back-ups are also corrupted for some reason. She's locked out of this little part of faux-France that she's spent freaking ages crafting, and is pretty distraught (we've all been there, RIP Final Fantasy X memory card). Is there anything analogous to this that's available on Steam?
She's not interested in playing a game and managing resources, she just wants to build and eventually see that creation come alive. If money-cheats can get around for the former and she's not forced to build while the clock is ticking, that's fine.
Graphics-wise, something close to The Sims would be ideal and leaning towards realistic is preferential than towards voxels.
If the things she can build are beautiful, she's not phased on obtuse UI (the Sims 3 mod in question has an absolutely god-awful interface). Imposing artificial restrictions on where and what you can build results in a lot of yelling coming from the study, so flexibility is king.
I'd really appreciate any help I can get, guys and gals
Pixie's sig is always a fresh batch of mental anguish.
There were worse quotes she could have chosen.
Much, much worse...
I threw it out there. Said if anyone made a new sig from stuff in that game, I'd use it. (offer still stands)
On that note, I still have to do the 4th playthrough. Scheduling has been problematic, mostly because the vote was for it to be streamed so I need a solid block of time instead of my usual "20 minutes of play" method of gaming. Maybe I'll see about doing it Tuesday or Weds night this week.

Dunno about a replacement game but have you guys tried toubleshooting it much? The one at the bottom sounds promising, if a little convoluted:

Looks like it actually a pretty common problem and there's a lot of ways to attempt to fix it out there.
