I have him and love him. Likely to be my second hero to hit level 10. I love specialists so so so much.
I love specialists...
You KNOW I love them...
I think Hammer is my favourite specialist so far, followed by Zagara.
Specialist is my primary role, as well. Nazeebo's definitely my best, followed by probably Zagara. I love Azmodan to death, because he was my first "main", but he just isn't as capable as some of the other specialists in my opinion. I haven't used him consistently in ages. I'd love to mess around a bit more with Gazlowe; I loved him during the free rotation and haven't picked him up for good yet. Still haven't had a chance to play Murky -- they haven't added him to the free rotation in the whole time I've been playing. That's probably a good thing.

I'm not kidding when I say that Blizzard forgot about Murky (before this most recent patch).
it is not easy to know about someone else's battletag but you can try looking their names up on google and see if they turn up in other games that show the battletag
Man some of the team comps the queue puts together....
I got a 5 support team last night while I was doing co-op to learn new characters. Funnily enough it was the quickest and most lopsided match of the night, we finished at level 16 to the cpu's 10 or 11.
I just do not comprehend the rationale behind "only turn in when the bombardment will kill a fort". Like, what's the difference between your team killing 2 towers then having the pirate kill the fort and letting the pirate kill the gate and towers and the fort down to half which your team then finishes off? Why does it not "count" unless the pirate finishes it off?
The only case I can see for holding off on the pirate is it's the difference between finishing off the core or not since the shields regenerate.
It is easier to push against and destroy two towers with enemy team defending than it is to push to destroy a fort with enemy team defending. The chilling shot forts have is a pretty big deal early on. Honestly, it rarely matters in pub games unless you can help it and if you are looking for small advantages over the other team.
Similarly, I used to do the same thing for Sky Temple. I picked Zagara into bot lane and just pushed even during the first temple spawn. The first objective is usually two temples and each team can hold a temple each easily (with smart play). Each temple kills two towers and with me pushing, this would theoretically give us an advantage with 4 towers down.
If all goes well, and we could use the previous advantage to snowball. The next objective would be just the bottom temple and if our team held it, the bottom lane fort would be destroyed completely, opening up the bottom lane for our team for the rest of the game.
However, I stopped doing this especially when I got matched into teams that just went for the middle temple meatgrinder when the first objective spawns. Then my teammates will just bitch me out for not grouping for a team fight.

Saw on a few pro matches that supports will take MULEs on Blackheart to heal their forts back up. If the cannons don't get the kill on the fort and your team isn't able to push through, MULES will recover a lot of the damage. Though, this was before Blizz nerfed the ability to use double MULE, maybe its not that big a deal anymore.
I don't know if it's still the case, but I swear to god the target priority on the MULE is to start on the building that needs it least and go from there. Almost dead fort, half health tower, full health tower with half ammo? The MULE will go for the full health tower to slooooooooooooooooowly replenish its ammo. Even if you place it closest to the fort. There's like a 2 pixel wide area you have to land it in in order for it to go for a certain building.

They fixed it. It prioritizes health over ammo, and it goes Forts -> Towers -> Gates for order of importance.

How does health vs. ammo on different tiers get prioritized? Will it repair a gate if there's an empty tower next to it? Or will it ammo up the tower and ignore the gate?

If the gate is low on health but the tower is at full health with low ammo, it will repair the gate and then replenish the tower ammo.
Does anyone have a decent go-to build for Illidan? The few times I tried him, I... well, it didn't go so well.
It could also be my play-style and the types of heroes I excel with. I'm trash with Kerrigan, too.
Keep in mind that I sometimes go for "fun" over "good" :P
1- Shadow Shield. A little more survivability sometimes helps a lot, plus the others aren't even that good.
4- Immolation. Helps a lot with clearing waves and a bit of extra DPS. Marked for Death is often tempting.
7- First Aid is soooo good.
10- The HUNT! One of the coolest abilities in the game!
13- Giant Killer. With his attack speed, that adds a lot of DPS. I think Sixth Sense would be pretty decent too.
16- B4B is a really strong ability. I think Stoneskin is good too if you think you need it by this point.
20- Nexus Blades (is that what it's called?). The one that gives you +20% damage and slow on your auto-attack. It's maybe not the best ability, but I like it!
Half the time I see a weak hero and "HUNT" into them, even if they are surrounded by like three of their allies. It's.... not a good plan. But fun!
Plus with his trait, The Hunt refreshes soooo fast. Seriously. Use it all the time.
I basically build my Illidan with defensive/survival talents where available because he is so innately squishy. It's probably not ideal and I should just be taking more offensive things while playing him better, but that's not gonna happen.

The thing with Illidan is that he is really sticky. He's one of the best chasers in the game. Normally, you'd want to save your Q to catch up to people just use W to dps. He excels at trading evenly, especially with a well timed Evasion and his trait that heals. A good Illidan knows when to engage a fight and when to disengage. Need to work on a good sense of a battle and try to figure out an escape plan every time you engage. Make use of Q to jump over other enemies for escape. Also, always auto attack anything if you have abilities on cooldown. Talent-wise:
Level 1 - Shadow Shield, any talent that gives you more time to do dmg is good. Seasoned Marksman is the talent I usually take but I would do so only if I think I don't need the extra survivabililty from burst damage and I'm roaming early game or if I'm planning to take Metamorphasis .
Level 4 - Immolation. Makes you clear waves really fast and adds additional damage.
Level 7 - First Aid. You'd be diving for the squishy a lot, away from any healing.
Level 10 - Metamorphasis 80% of the time, its the better team fight ult. The Hunt is good for snowballing on maps where you are against squishy teams or when there are multiple objectives to move to and from.
Level 13 - Sixth Sense. Again, survivability rules. Giant Killer is decent against fatty teams but why would you be hitting tanks/ picking Illidan to start?
Level 16 - Stone Skin for metamorphasis, Blood for blood for The Hunt. Be sure to pop stone skin only after using metamorphasis and blood for blood when you're not at full hp. Extra Charge of Sweeping Strike is practically useless because it is almost always up anyways if you're autoattacking.
Level 20 - Demonic form for metamorphasis. If you picked The Hunt, the global range upgrade is decent but I think I prefer Nexus Blades since The Hunt's range is pretty big already.
EDIT: One last thing, time your evasions. I see many Illidans just activate evasion when they Q in. Use it when the target is trying to auto attack you to death or if you picked Sixth Sense, when you can anticipate a burst of damage.
Ohyar and you can solo merc camps pretty well too.

I want the game to hurt me a little bit whenever I play with less than a 3 person party, because I'd rather take the physical pain than soul crushing despair that happens in most pub games.
Illidan is a blast, but he does lack in teamfight utility. If the other four can't set you up to go ham on the enemy the teamfights can be rough. Also, there are some maps he can't put his redonkulous jungling abilities to use so he loses some value there, but even then he can bounce around being a giant pain in the ass. Unfortunately he's also very much a hero that when played badly (which seems to be most PUG Illidans) can easily be nothing more than free XP for the enemy.
That said, Illidan backed up by Malfurion and LiLi is a complete and utter cock. That match was god damn infuriating.
If there's one thing Illypants has going for him, he has a ridiculously good early game. He can just go fucking nuts and there's not really much you can do about it. Especially paired with a good lane partner. I'm not quite sure who would counter his early game. Arthas maybe? Kerrigan? Heroes with strong lockdown potential, I'm guessing. Or just have a lane that can outheal his damage output and push back.
I was just in a QM where the enemy support-build-Uther was out hero-damaging our Falstad. Significantly.
I didn't think that was possible.
And I thought me outdamaging a Chen as LiLi was bad, yeesh.

So I just played the tutorial as well as a few practice rounds. I am a filthy MOBA casual and while I enjoy DotA 2, I've always found the item system to be a bit intimidating. HotS is super, super accessible to someone like me and I can see myself sinking a LOT of time into this game.
Between this, Hearthstone, D3 and eventually Overlord, Blizzard will have me by the nuts.

Take it as a compliment from Blizz. Clearly they think you are godly enough to offset your teammate's noobishness and lack of experience.
