So I read Spider-Man loves Mary Jane #1-17...
...and i liked it.
its light and a fun take on spidey's highschool life. good colors and consistent art. a spidey action here and there. im a 20+ yo male. and Yes i enjoyed it...
*breathes a deep sigh*
...i guess ill have to resign. ill turn in my badge and penis now...
There are moments of brilliance (Gwen describing the Spider-Man/Sandman fight is great) but on the whole it just feels like it's going nowhere.
Writer is leaving soon for a DC exclusive.
Cute comic, or cutest comic?
i guess series like these are like a nice dessert
very light, not too much reading, and nothing heavy but very fun
no need to remember pre existing stuff like the first time you pick up runaways.
best line of the series though:
spidey: I for one know that youll be okay MJ
MJ: Ow ow OW!
Spidey: ...proportionate strength of a spider...sorry
Well, OK, it's not, but even so:
Spidey books always used to be about Parker pursuing the unattainable Mary Jane. Whit this book Peter is the unattainable one, while MJ flip-flops around pursuing him!
The paradigm has been shifted.
