Robin who Batman failed brought back to life to see that Batman has not only dragged two more kids into this life after his death but gotten another one killed
So while he still believes in The Mission, he thinks Bruce is deluding himself and endangering people by refusing to do what needs to be done so he picks up some pistols and goes to work
plus the whole "The Joker killed me. Killed me. And you still let him live and destroy the lives of other people" is a good, painful angle
I feel like these angles could work really well in Else world titles, but that stuff is too meta for the main line. The Joker is alive and on the prowl because he's a flagship character, not because Batman is a failure.

Doesn't mean a writer can't utilize it well, which is exactly what Winnick did

Yeah but it's ok for the victim of the joker to feal betrayed.

The best part is, he dosen't even blame Bruce for getting him killed, or even hold him responsible.
His main source of anger is that Bruce didn't kill the Joker after the Joker killed him, in order to finally put a stop to the Joker's nigh infinite body count. He thought that would drive Bruce over the edge to do the "right" thing, and it didn't.
Well, it's not Batman's fault that the justice system is so incompetent that they keep failing to execute super villains and let them escape.
That's what I've always found to be silly about these "why doesn't the super hero kill the super villain" questions. It's the writers who are turning these super villains into insane sadistic mass murderers and writing the justice system, heck the whole society, as being completely incapable of dealing with the prosecution of these super villains, and everything is completely stacked against the heroes being merciful. So it's just so disingenuous when they try to bring up the "issue" of superheroes not killing.
Yeah, the Joker is alive for the reason the green goblin is still alive and the same reason magneto commits genocide, or tries his damn destiny to commit genocide, and is then a heroic figurr. They are iconic characters. Trying to rationalize that stuff is impossible.

Not really considering Under the Red Hood did it

But Jason Todd going WHY DIDNT YOU KILL HIM to Batman, who doesn't kill, isn't a world breaking story
Winnick used the fact that Joker is an iconic character who won't die as a tool for his story and spun it into Jason Todd's character, giving him a tragic edge
batman comics need to never ever ever address the question of "why doesn't he just kill the joker!!"
Especially when the better question is why hasn't random cop D, who ISN'T the ultimate bastion of self-control and goodness that Batman is, just shot the Joker in the head when he had the opportunity.
+1
Garlic Breadi'm a bitch i'm a bitch i'm a bitch i'm aRegistered User, Disagreeableregular
You guys are misinterpreting it. It isn't "Why doesn't Batman kill The Joker" or "Why hasn't anyone killed The Joker"
it's Jason Todd raging at Batman with "Why didn't you avenge me?".

You mean like when random cop D (as a fake Batman, recruited and trained by Dr. Hurt) shot Joker in the head?

No, I mean straight up police corruption style "He fell on some bullets.. 27 times" murder.
Like, the GCPD was corrupt as shit at the start of Batman's career. I really doubt Jim Gordon/Batman turned it into a paragon of perfect policework in the meantime. Given how many people the Joker has killed, you'd think there'd be at lest one less moral cop with either a personal grudge, or who just figures somebody should take the bastard out.
Like, the GCPD is better behaved than real world cops.
So I've been hearing that the Archie Mega Man comics are actually really good and have been consistently good for a while, and I might have to actually start checking them out cause:
They are apparently doing a sequel to the Mega Man/Sonic crossover with all of Capcom and Sega.
Except for Street Fighter probably cause I think they have a separate license
I dunno if many folks in this thread checked it out but not too long ago, Archie Comics was able to get Sega and Capcom to allow them to do a big crossover between the Sonic and MegaMan titles called Worlds Collide, featuring the two heroes fighting back against a teamup of Doctor Wily and Robotnik. Now Archie plans to do it again but aren't stopping with just those two heroes.
This is the day-two promo for the event from an article on IGN, revealing the additions of Alex Kidd, Billy Hatcher, Nina and Viewtiful Joe. The rest of the characters will be shown over the next few days.

People are always asking why Land keeps getting work. I wanna know why Lobdell gets work. And so much! He's the most prolific terrible writer.

I mean last year he was in literally every Batman book for a while and now he's in the main title again
Fair enough I haven't read since new 52
Before that it felt like an event when he did
But Under the Red Hood specifically used it well because it was the Robin that Joker murdered asking it
Like if it were just about anyone else yes
But it fit Jason's character and the story being told perfectly

Bruce may be a billionaire but he's still afraid of a copyright lawsuit from Disney.

It's going to prominently feature Viewtiful Joe.
Why I fear the ocean.
Yeah okay I'll have to get this
