Yahoo is incredibly harsh on teams it gave a B- rating to! Do they know that's a passing grade?

It's like video game review grades. Anything under a 90 is failing.

Maybe the scale they're using isn't for the NFL, but for all of football? Like, B- would be really good...for college ball, and F would be bad even for high school ball, and this is the NFL, so B+ or go home?
@Balefuego is there any way we can not do the draft on labor day? I've got family in and it will be difficult to get time to do it. If that works best for everyone we can do that, though.

I can draft almost any day as long as it is after 7pm Central
Tom Brady will be under center for the Patriots' season opener next Thursday.
The ruling, handed down by U.S. District Judge Richard Berman on Thursday morning, nullified the four-game suspension levied against the Patriots quarterback back on May 11 when Ted Wells, an independent investigator hired by the NFL, asserted Brady's connection to deflated footballs used in the AFC Championship Game this past season.
The decision came after multiple attempts at settlement between Brady, his council, the NFL Players Association and the NFL. On Monday, Berman dismissed both sides after just a few minutes after realizing they were too far apart to reach a settlement.
There is no word yet on whether the NFL will file an appeal.
Eliminating Brady's suspension saves Patriots head coach Bill Belichick from dealing with the largest statistical drop off between starting quarterbacks in consecutive seasons since 1950. It also saves him from using another starter besides Brady for the first time since 2008, when Brady tore his ACL in the season-opener.
The ruling has to be considered a victory for Brady, who was likely willing to accept a one-game suspension, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. Instead, he gets what he wanted all along.
The defending Super Bowl champions can now put yet another difficult offseason behind them.
Around The NFL will have more on this story as it develops ...

Judge Berman apparently put "independent" in quotes every time he referred to the Wells investigation. I hate the Patriots so much but I cannot agree with this decision more. The NFL, Roger Goodell are so goddamn full of their own shit.
The judge wasn't ruling on whether Brady was innocent (he cheated, so he's not), but whether the punishment was fair (which it wasn't)
Goodell was the defendant in a court where the defendant won 97% of the time, and lost in an even more absurd way
The Patriots still lose the draft pick
Taking this from the perspective of everybody involved losing (judge's time wasted, Brady's rep still perma-tarnished, Goodell losing a court case in a historic way, Patriots losing a draft pick, Garoppolo losing what could be his only chance of starting in the league, Pats fan reporter wishing for Goodell's death on air likely fired), I love this decision. Now we just need to see him suck for the first month and them not win the next Super Bowl and Goodell fired, and I'll feel comfy with this sport again.

Bradys rep isn't tarnished. This will have zero effect on his legacy.

like the wells report had months to try to prove brady's guilt (which they were obviously trying to do), had 5 million at their disposal to do so, and what they came up with was still absolutely riddled with holes, contradictions, bizarre decisions and suspect statistical sampling
the judge wasn't not ruling on brady's guilt because he thought he was guilty, he was not ruling on brady's guilt because he was legally unable to do so
Brady's still got multiple Super Bowls and some of the best stats ever for a QB.
His legacy's fine.

I think the number of people in this thread alone saying "I hate the Patriots but super correct decision judge" indicates that this won't affect his legacy really.
Have to agree I don't think it touches his rep negatively.
He took on the head of the NFL in court and won. Everyone will remember that, not that he was accused of using balls that were deflated.
I think in the long run it will actually be the opposite. When people look back on this log run of success for the Pats people will always remember that they got busted for cheating. It's the scandal that sticks in people's memory, not the retraction six months later.
Brady will still go down as one of the best of all time, but, fair or not, people will always associate him with cheating.
Goodell disagrees with the decision and will appeal.
Also, history proves that people will just call the Pats cheaters and ignore facts. For instance, take Spygate. People loooooooove to say the Patriots were cheaters for taping the Jets's signals.
The facts don't matter as much as the perception, though. It's not nearly as sexy to say "The Patriots push the envelope a lot, and sometimes cross the line" as it is to just go "#cheatriots".

Players around the league are coming out to congratulate Brady. Hell, Charles Woodson has publicly congratulated Tom Brady for the ruling. Hashtagging it with diedeflategate. I love it, especially who it comes from.
It's hilarious because everyone that works at ESPN is in the NFL's pocket, and they are absolutely shocked that this was overturned. Meanwhile everyone with a brain in the real world has been expecting this for weeks.

No word yet on the league appealing.

I hope their appeal is denied swiftly.
DeflateGate is stupid and it's time to move on
I could care and want the worst for the Patriots but they've had great players who are good people
at this point I would not be surprised if it's all nonsense started by sore losers
This is a great picture.

this needs to not just end Goodell but also break the ridic power disparity the team owners have over players and the league.

Yes, because being a woman beating, attempted murder scumbag is exactly the same thing as ordering a football to be just a tiny bit softer.
in spygate the herald just retracted their taping the walkthrough report, which hardly anyone nationally paid attention to
this is a win in a way that wasn't
there will always be outliers, sure, but i think overall public perception is a lot different this time around
