I have full tetsucabra and full Nerscylla. I like everything about Nerscylla aside from the stamina thing. I don't know what bonuses the Velocidrome/prey set has. Can anyone tell me or will what I have carry me for the most part?
Edit: This is low rank btw
Velocidrome armour gives +13 attack, +7 Psychic, and +10 Stun. It's easy to gem for Attack Up (M) and Detect, Autotracker is doable with two slots from your Weapon and/or Talisman.
I lucked out enough to get an early +4 Psychic talisman, which simplified things a bit.
I got the same. It's made me stick with Velocidrome probably straight through to High Rank when I will reassess my options.
Mostly just huntin' monsters.

I'm relatively new to the series, so can somebody clarify a UI issue for me. Menu navigation seems pretty inconsistent. I have counted 3 different ways menus pages are flipped. D-pad, L/R, and Analog stick. Is there something that makes this logical that I'm not seeing? I'll internalize it all eventually, but it just seems odd.

If you mean for weapon/armor information... yeah that's a recurring problem and a nuisance. Just have to suck it up, sadly. I think the differences is tied to what else you can do (view character typically) at that info page.
Tetsu is nice for gunner. Looks great, good skills.
Can't lance to save my life. Even knowing exactly whats coming, I either press the attack too long (SnS experience ho), or cant face it to counter in time.
So after being sad about boat fun last night I found a pretty relaxing way to beat it.
Just equip a ranged weapon and stand on the second ledge next to the Dragonator (so in between the two platform levels.) Only have to worry about the occasional breath attack which you can block or dodge. I've seen him try to run on to the ledge but he cant. He'll still hit you when in Dragonator position however.
Quick easy and no fainting for that run. Pretty happy.
Carved whatever a "chilling beak" is on my first Najarala kill. So do I vendor this or what?
There's an option to just discard it. Don't bother going to vendor it just dump it.
Haha no. Why would you do this?
Because I am responding to a (what I percieved as a) sarcastic joke message and being sarcastic myself. Unless I misread it in which case I am sorry to anyone who dumped their 3% break.

Gore Magala is like everything that beats up on me. He's fast has a lot of aoe stupid attacks and I just can't seem to get his patterns down. I did manage to get a feeler this morning, which was nice because he was giving me all the feels when he two fainted me...
One thing that's also hella annoying is even if you pull off a mount on the jerk face he lets you get like one hit in before he's back up and at it...

Man. So this is my first MH and I'm having a blast, just beat Rathalos - only had to ride the cart one time up til this point so I don't think I'm doin too bad. But, now I'm feeling a little lost. What exactly is this rank stuff you guys are talking about? I've been doing pretty much nothing but caravan stuff as it unlocks now I'm worried that I'm wasting my time and resources making and upgrading my stuff cause I keep seeing talk about High rank armor and low rank armor does this mean my stuff is gonna be useless at some point and I have to start over again?

Do not worry. You haven't wasted time and resources at all. One of the nicer things about MH is that the lower rank weapons will upgrade into the higher ranks ones and the Higher rank armors will only be able to be made with higher rank parts.
It's not possible to outstrip your resources now and leave yourself wanting later.

Yes, your stuff is going to become useless, but only because you'll progress past it. You've gotta go through low rank to get to high rank, and you don't just suddenly lose all of your stuff. It's a smooth transition

Any chance we can put the site that shows all the armor sets in the OP?

The part that astounded me was that I didn't even break it. I just carved it. The sub said "break its back" and it took embarrassingly long for me to realize its back actually means the part right behind its head, and so I needed to be attacking its head instead of its tail. Oops.

The back is a real bitch to hit. Like even trying I think I've only done it once or twice, he just moves fast doesn't leave you an opportunity to hit it, and it has a surprising amount of health. Though the best opportunity for beaks is smashing his grill which is easier.

The real trolly part is that it gets easy to hit after naja doesn't have enough health left for you to break it. When she gets tired, her forward strikes leave her back vulnerable. If you are going specifically for breaks and are fine with taking a bit longer I might even wait for her to take a nap, and then farm for several minutes in order to maximize the time you're allowed to wail on her back while she's tired.
Though maybe it'll be easier next when it's not literally my first hunt.
Also real question for you veteran hunters. What the hell do I sell/vendor? I've put quite a few hours into this thing so far and I have sold literally nothing.

I've only been strapped for cash once so far in 4U, which I solved by selling my starter armor and the chainmail set I made before getting enough Veloci parts to make a "real" set.
If you really wanted to, you could also sell all of the starter weapons you don't plan to use. They're cheap enough to buy again if you want to try them later. On a related, if minor note, I sold all of the ammo I made just to fill out the combo list. Huskberries and other ammo components are just space-hogs as far as I'm concerned.
Other than that, yeah nothing. Towards the end of 3U I had a policy of not keeping any monster part in quantity above 30 (which was arbitrary), and no gems/armor spheres above 99 (a single inventory slot). The initial clean-up of that made me so much zenny I never really thought about it again, but it wasn't exactly on the forefront of my mind before that either.
Although speaking of currency, I really miss being able to turn my excess fish into resource (now Caravan) points. I hope that option shows up eventually.
I also went back to dual healer for my palicos. The DPS one was hilarious, but I'll take having to smash monster parts myself for the extra heal/cleanse. It makes it less stressful on me. Plus their super buff of health and stam is really beneficial.

Generally speaking, I'll sell monster parts down into the 30-40 range. If you have that many excess parts, odds are you have enough to craft anything you would want with them, and also that you are going to get even more of them when you need to get the rare plates and gems or whatever which are usual roadblocks.
Like, I don't know why smiths decided Gore Magala scales were unsuitable for making armors and weapons, I just know I am selling a bunch of them.
Other than that, not much. You'll get a bunch of small goldenfish if you do cat fishing. I'm holding on to some just in case for crafting/deliver quests, but they're pretty safe to sell and replenishable. I might sell some of the more expensive bugs/ores later on, but that's only at the point where I have multiple stacks of 99, and I'm fairly certain that they're not secretly earth crystals, where (multiple) certain upgrades require dozens of them at a time.
Most other stuff that naturally accrues in my inventory to any significant degree probably isn't worth enough money to take the time selling.

Najarala also has the evolutionary defect of weak stumpy rear legs, which, whens struck hard enough, result in her falling over and putting her head right in front of you, great way to get some swings on the back of her head.
