What does the background of the bottom screen of the Guild Card look like when you hit 370 missions? I FEEL like I've just received the card, but I have no idea. I still have some of HR 5,6,7 to clear, along with a small amount of G-rank. Counting doesn't help much because there are many Advanced Missions that do not show up on the list at any given time.
@Hahnsoo1 it's like, blue/silver lagiacrus colors honestly. If you go to the hunter's journal, you can see in the m iddle it's like a face with alternating purple/gold teeth.
I need to do some g3 I unlocked it but so far I'm back in the lower gs farming up some stuff. I've almost upgraded my rathian poison gs all the way, just need one more p shard!
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Man, I'm falling into the craft every weapon for your chosen weapon type again.
I'm the opposite. I tend to only craft like 1-3 weapons of each type. Whenever I think about making more, it's like, "Is it really worth spending half a million Zenny and a bunch of rare parts to make this elemental weapon that's only going to be good against a couple of monsters?" And then I talk myself out of it, or wait too long and whatever I would have made has become obsolete.

G2 get!
Still have loads of Seregios farming to do, but at least I got a couple lenses early, and I only need one more breacher for "rare" parts for the full armor set. Really at this point, it's just a matter of amassing a huge number of Airblades, Carvers, and Slavescales, and to a lesser extent Scrapers
I guess this is a difference of perspective. I look at 40+ hitzones as weak points, and tidal naja's fan is one such that is in easy reach almost constantly. It rotates to put that fan in front of you. Common naja does the same, but its fan is a shield rather than a target.
The tail is only a 30% hitbox on tidal until broken, and the regular Najarala also puts it's face in front of you, and that's a 85% hitbox; in fact, the majority of hitboxes (besidess a frontleg/backleg switch,) are higher damage on the regular Najarala.
The Tidal Najarala essentially has worse hitzones and similar HP to monsters that are considered "hardcore" like the Silver Rath or Molten Tigrex; I'd say it's certainly a lot more difficult than I expected, and with far fewer hitpoints, than the normal Najarala. Compared to the default Najarala, which feels like a slightly more durable Seltas/Arzuros tier "I'd probably be more threatened by a couple of Rhenoplos" trash mob, and it was quite a shock.
Did some work in Caravan 10 today since I was in no mood to reattempt Caravaneer's Challenge any time soon. Silver Los, Frenzied Stygian/Seregios, another goddamned egg mission (featuring regular AND Brute Tigrex), Fatalis, Orochi Kirin, and Molten Tigrex (made much easier with Double Gore's anti-blast, but still hits like a truck) all down.
Next up: Gold Rathian and what looks like an f'n Savage Jho?
Ugh, the first monster I've actually been annoyed by. The Tidal Najarala (who I beat by luck the first time, apparently) has really cool ricocheting shots. But nothing else about it is fun; it's got a lot more HP than the regular Najarala, it's wrap attack hits ridiculously hard, and unlike the regular Najarala, it has basically no weak points, while the regular Najarala at least enjoyed putting it's 80% damage beak in your face. It just feels like a slog where I'm going to get punished for not having white essence up to jump out of getting wrapped.*
*I'd superman dive, but it's really hard to consistently do that when every direction is "towards" part of the monster.
I'm playing catch up so this might be old news and addressed, but does IG work as well on tidal as it does vanilla? On vanilla LaLa I just vault and air attack endlessly. It probably increases the time to kill but LaLa really can't do anything about it, you're just vaulting over all the damage, practically, all the time.

Leap works less well on the Tidal because the hitboxes you get presented when you kill it aren't nearly as good, and since it's generally bigger you aren't always going to be able to leap over it and deal mount damage when it wraps around you (without jumping past the tail, which won't mount, or having white, which is hard with its legs).
It's still not bad, but it's much riskier, and the fight can take quite a while with HR glaives so you don't want to up your TTK too much.
Cleared G3, and unlocked the ability to search for the skill level "experts". This is awesome, I'm now directly in touch with a bunch of people who don't need any key quests done.

What is a good starting point for bow armor?
"I will write your name in the ruin of them. I will paint you across history in the color of their blood."
It seems like theres alot more "single line" GS instead of them all stemming from Iron/Bone paths
which is nice on earth crystals and monster bone S
but goddamn is my equip inventory full
I have uh...
A row and a half, maybe 2, of Duals
And nothing else intentionally. Lots of incidental stuff, like Relic SnS that I don't care about.
I really have fallen into the "only one weapon" trap. Now that I've unlocked HR I'm going to try and make an Evasion +1/2 or Evade Distance set and see if that makes dodging as a DB user any better, if not... CB or IG, one of the two.
The talismans are now good enough that they want to make me plan sets around them. Just grabbed a +6 evasion +6 handicraft one. It feels like a lot of matched sets have given me exactly 4 points of handicraft, so that could be really, really useful. It's a pity that I'm not much of an evader.
gaijin always delivers, but holy crap is this set insane. Im currently rocking a skull helm and hr tetsu legs in a gs set but this is a crazy upg. look at those skills!
doesnt need crazy parts either, just a couple of daora and teo runs

Hey, regarding our last couple hunts of the evening:
G2 Black Gravios is a huge asshole.
We got through it and our gunner never carted. I sure did though!
I keep getting the feeling that tails are harder to cut this time around than they were in 3U. Is it just me? I'm having to farm Azure Rathalos tails and, aside from the fact that three Rathalos in I have a plate and two scales, it definitely feels like I need to focus on hitting the tail constantly a lot more if I want to get it cut in time.
Hm, does Kiranico have an error in the Dual Blades listing? Doesn't Kut-Ku Pair lead to either Dual Kut-Ku or Dios Slicers? And does Dual Kut-Ku lead to anything else, or is it a dead end?

Evade+ does almost nothing for DB. Neither does evade distance, really. Constitution isn't too bad. Just make a bunch of rapid shuffles.
Up to G2 and pretty much every monster except old ones like Khezu have the simple solution of dodging into them, not away from them. Abuse the X+A dash a ton when arch demon is up. Best thing ever.
Honestly though I feel like duals just teach you a way different play style and it doesn't really translate well to other weapons.
I feel most of the weapons in the game are like that. Hell going from a great sword back to a hammer through me and they are similar in attack.
Sns, hammer, gs, ls, iglaive all dodge the same. Bow/lance/gl/sa/cb all dodge similarly. Lbg in first group, hbg in second.
Db dodges like none of the above. With about 1/2 the iframes and half the distance. You never leave the ground and the iframes start immediately.
It's a hugely different beast. Especially as you're usually dodging in circles, kind of circle strafing your target.
It's interesting and using dash juice definitely helps with it. I think in the average scuffle I probably evade one.. 8+ times before I break off. Just weaving it between all the spin slashes and jumps.

Just a note for anyone who's unaware: Dash Juice and Mega Dash Juice are consumed twice as fast if you activate demonizaiton mode. Just something to keep in mind

You should really only be in demon mode to fill dat gauge. Maybe to demon dance on a head when it's prone. Otherwise you lose way too much mobility not being able to spin dash on command. People still seem really stuck in the old demonize always mindset.
Welp. I could make myself a full Soul Mail except for the bracers (which require tails) right now, before I even got my first Azure Rathalos tail. And I need three of them for my poison sns. I'm definitely beginning to feel like the sword isn't worth all this work.
At least I have plenty of azure materials to sell in bulk for money. Or I guess I could make myself a gunner soul mail and find something to replace the bracers, I've been wanting to have a gunner armor for a while and hey, Normal Up is not a bad thing to have.
Hm, does Kiranico have an error in the Dual Blades listing? Doesn't Kut-Ku Pair lead to either Dual Kut-Ku or Dios Slicers? And does Dual Kut-Ku lead to anything else, or is it a dead end?
No. Dual Kut-Ku becomes Dios Slicers for some unfathomable reason.
EDIT: Wait, that can't be right. I don't remember having to get blue YKK parts before I made them. I think DKK is a dead-end rare 4.
Welp, I'm just leaving this for impossible and seeing if I can make the nerscylla poison charge blade instead. On the plus side, I did get three rubies for future use.
Sell Monster Parts (Elder Dragon Parts = more cash than usual) or do Ore runs (Harvest Tour missions or any easy mission to complete) and sell those.
Ore runs in High Rank missions can net Ancient Shards (Heavenly Mount is a good place for this), which can appraise as a 20k weapon to sell (which you probably won't be using anyway, and they are easy to get).
@Brody I'm sorry this never got answered, but what rank are you?
For Low Rank, nothing really jumps out at me as "awesome" for Gunner armor for bows. Stamina is a useful skill that shows up often (reduces stamina drain when you are charging your bow), and can be had as early as Gypceros armor (relatively easy to make). The chicken suit (Kut-Ku armor) can give you Attack Up and Fire Attack bonus, which is good if you are using a fire bow. Ludroth requires a quest to unlock the parts in the Caravan for trade, but it gives Stamina and Water attack (water bows). It requires trade-ins of Velocidrome parts. Ceanataur gives Pierce Up, but it requires the dreaded Najarala Chilling Beaks (hard to farm). Rathalos and Tigrex both give Attack Up, a little later on. Dah'ren Mohran's armor at the end of Low Rank gives Unscathed (boost attack when at full health), Pierce Up, and Stamina, and probably is the best end-of-Low-Rank choice.
Mosgharl is the first instance of Focus (reduce charging time for bows), but it requires Bumblepumpkins, which only come from Hunters for Hire, AFAIK (maybe Expeditions/Guild Quests?).
EDIT: Polaritie says that Bumblepumpkins are random extra items that you get for duplicating items at the Wycoon. Thanks!
Early High-Rank, you can probably do well with Kut Kut S (the high rank chicken suit) early on, which gives Attack Up (M) and has some space for gemming in other skills (including Stamina, which it has +5 points in).
Skills I would look for, depending on what Bow you are using:
Pierce Up (increases Pierce shot damage)
Normal Up (increases Rapid shot damage)
Pellet Up (increases Scatter shot damage)
Elemental Attack Up (matching your bow's Element, of course)
Status (increases the status damage of your status coatings)
Skills that are good for Bows:
Focus (reduce charge times, Fast Charge skill)
Stamina (reduce stamina drain when charging a bow)
Load Up (Loading skill, increases another charge level on the bow for more power)
Stamina Recovery Up (recharge stamina faster, which is almost as good as Stamina)
Generically useful skills:
Evasion
Evade Distance Up
Attack Up
Critical Eye +1/+2/+3 (Expert skill)
Earplugs (Hearing skill)
Defense Up
High End skills that are great (but you won't see for a while):
Dead Eye (increases the distance that a shot can be "critical" damage)
Fury or Adrenaline+2 (increases attack/defense at lower health)
Arcana (Awaken + Element damage up + Status damage up)
