Bumblepumpkins are a random reward from duplicating items at the Wycoon. I have like 25 stashed away because I'm just waiting for G rank pumpkin.
Focus is probably among the best skills for bows, because the faster you hit level 3 charge the less vulnerable you are and the more things that become openings. (Of course, if you have no coatings set, you may as well release early at level 2 and GTFO if you have to).
Is Pellet Up a 10% or 30% boost to spread bows?
And I recall someone posted the arrow motion values a page or two back, but I still want to know how the element works out... because there is no fucking way it's the 10%/hit of melee (because 50% per volley... actually I guess that wouldn't be too obscene, due to charge time/multiplier, but...)
I could be mistaken but it looks like there's only 1 iteration of mosgharl/pumpkin armor this time around? I'm not seeing a high or g rank equivalent listed anywhere.

I'm about to get on the boat, which I think unlocks Caravan 4*. I haven't done much gathering hall stuff yet, just cause I tend to forget it's there, other than guild quests.
I'll probably just make gunner velocidrome set then, since the parts are super easy to farm.

Yeah, I think there is only 1 version, although it is Rarity 4. My bad.

It's a bummer, I love that set.
I mean, I'm still gonna make it and stuff, but it's unfortunate that it is kind of lacking a lot of options that a higher tier of it would offer.
Thanks to Cromarty I am able to make the Bai Bai Kaiser set (with skull because fuck the arena hat), now I just need a sword to take advantage of this.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
@Zanshinretsu was kind enough to link me to this armor set
gaijin always delivers, but holy crap is this set insane. Im currently rocking a skull helm and hr tetsu legs in a gs set but this is a crazy upg. look at those skills!
doesnt need crazy parts either, just a couple of daora and teo runs
I just finished grinding out a completely different yet functionally identical version of this set. It has two major differences: it doesn't have Sharpness +1, and it's made of Kushala/Basarios instead of Kaiser/Shortpants so it's way more badass-looking.
I'm kind of annoyed that I went through all the trouble of making the Seregios greatsword specifically so I wouldn't have to get Handicraft and could afford more utility skills only to find out that the best way to get the draw/sheath utility skills just so happens to also include Sharpness +1 for free. Oh well, it was still worth it for Fashion Hunter.
Yeah I'd still say regios x is worth it for apex seregios and I used his armor from g2 on up through g3.
My first run through of bai bai kaiser might as well be called hello hello awesome. Took on a black diablos and I actually felt pretty damn mobile the whole time and that's using a brunhilde I'm sure with a more punishing sword like the blos one I'll be even better!

Do Mind's Eye-style skills even work on Apex monsters? I'm pretty sure Switch Axes still bounce against them.

Sharpness+1 is easier to get than ever.
Rock that Cera Cymmetry yo.
It's also kind of nice that it's rank 9 so it's a bit cheaper to hone.
I'd take defense over power any day as DB. The built in divine protection is amazing and I eat for feline defender too just because you're going to get bumped and scraped which can end up as a ton of damage in G rank.
Yeah, I imagine that the raw damage is less attractive for Dual Blades or Sword and Shield (primarily vehicles for Elemental damage anyway). I hone most of my weapons into Attack, but I'm definitely considering the other options for my Dual Blades.

The amount of heal is also determined by the motion value of the attack proc'ing it
Honestly, all three are pretty good, but at least for GS, it's kind of a no brainer, raw all day long
Well it looks like I've hit my ceiling in the Caravan. Beat Goldie and Savage today, plus the Brachy Bad Hair Day (finally got a Gem!), but everything else seems to be locked behind G-rank.

The Bad Hair Day questline was definitely one of the most "WTF?" moments I've had in Monster Hunter. Not the actual quests, mind you, but the questgiver...

ahh, divine protections certainly makes the +defense hone more valuable.
Also, gonna start soloing the arena quests for that sweet blackbelt helm
I know I wont get close to S Rank, does anyone know if the top (S/A) ranks get more coin drops or is it solely for guildcards/bragging rights?
The funky felyne shows up at your house in DondrumaDundorma even before you can get the quests. I thought at first I had to go and make that one palico hat that looks like a fro (tetsucabra?) to get them to say anything new.
Never did make that hat. I really should. It probably goes great with the bnahabra suit.
Is there any tell for Rath charges at all? Fighting HR ios and I've mostly figured out how to dodge his stuff (except his bullshit turnfireball in enrage) and just punt on poison tail with shield, but I'm attacking him at all when he charges I get clipped by the hitbox even if i'm standing next to him and end up taking 1/3rd of my hp and theres a decent chance i'll get comboed into bullshit.

Rath insta-charges are a series staple. There's no animation tell as such; no wind up. But you can predict based on it's behaviour that it can perform a charge and react accordingly.
i.e. If it's facing you or has just turned to face you then it can potentially throw out an instant charge, so make sure you're not in it's hitbox in those circumstances.
I know this is probably little league stuff compared to the all star stuff you guys are in the middle of, but I love how this game has the same "I can see I've gotten waaay better at this game over time" you get with Dark Souls. Today I went on an expedition and took down a G Jaggi, 2xSeltas, a Gypceros and a Yian KK. Where before I'd burn most of my resources taking a monster down I was only using the odd potion, and before when I'd see two large monsters in an area and book it to the exit, this time I was able to handle things fine.
I did cart twice from Gypceros though, I'd never seen him play dead before, came as a bit of a shock! I even managed a carve from him before he jumped back up.

Its pretty much the best feeling a game can give you.
Going against a monster for the first time, (or 30ths, for certain walls) and getting your butt handed to you. Barely finishing a quest.
Then you do some research, look at its armor to see what elemental its weak too. Watch for huge openings and punish them. Maybe craft a new armor set which compliments your weapon type vs that monster
Finally, you come back to the incredibly hard/almost impossible fight, and fucking CREAM IT. Then again, and this time you're under 15 mins. Next time, under 12 mins. Finally you're downing this impossible monster in under 9
no other game (souls come close) level you up as a player. It is practically fighting game levels of depth and improvement.
The worst part about trying to upgrade all Insect Glaives is that all of them, every single one of them, needs Elder Dragonbones at some point, which means a lot of grinding the same mission over and over for little reward, since that tier is usually just a Kinsect upgrade. Fighting the Kushala Daora over and over isn't that fun.*
*Yeah, I know, grinding is par for the course in MH, but this is less "sweet, I got the Rathalos Ruby and now have the greatest armor set ever" and more "huh. This feels like farming Honey, but with more Kushala Daora."
I did cart twice from Gypceros though, I'd never seen him play dead before, came as a bit of a shock! I even managed a carve from him before he jumped back up.
Yeah that can be a rude surprise when he's not the Main Objective. When he is it's just sad.
Aw. I don't feel like I was much help, but between the four of us, we did manage to kill several daoras.
Frag that rust daora though. What a pain.
Yeah rusty daora's are utter bastards. One of my carts came from full health on a breath hit, I was staring at the screen after that one. "The fuck did he hit me with?"
Best I could tell is that you never ever want to be in front of him when he's not dazed because he can breath bomb you.

It would probably help if we knew what attribute the tornadoes have. I was eating for felyne icebreaker and still taking half my hp in damage from the big tornado.
Fuck I screwed up the Super Mushroom crafting shit. I made two hats and a luigi suit. No hammer!
Eh its not like the damage from your palicos makes a super huge difference normally. And there are G rank versions of those outfits so somehow you can get other ones.

true raw is crazy strong, and +60 defense is v nice but who cares. kill monsters faster > take less damage
and the healing one seems strange. Is there a formula for when you proc the heal?
