[Mage Knight] Full Conquest PBP -- Let's meet our murderhobos!
admanbunionize your workplaceSeattle, WARegistered Userregular
We're playing Mage Knight! Mage Knight is a killer adventure/RPG/deckbuilder/sociopath simulator. Our "heroes" will each play a mighty Mage Knight -- part wizard, part warrior, all rampaging murderhobo -- they'll travel the world, "visiting" (pillaging) towns, "recruiting" (forcing into servitude) allies, and "acquiring" (conquering) keeps. They'll also do some noble things like clearing dungeons and killing rampaging orcs and dragons, but mostly by accident. Their goal is to find and conquer four cities. There's no direct conflict (PvP is turned off) but each Mage Knight is absolutely out for only his own good, and final scoring will reflect their individual successes and failures.
Technical notes for players:
Standard Conquest, four players, base game only
Direct PvP is off. You can conquer other players' keeps.
Houserule: If your first draw in a round has no Move, you may mulligan it until it does.
Generous take-backs! Like in real life, if you make a move that doesn't cause any unknown information to be revealed you can freely undo it. Assuming no one else has taken their turn, of course.
I am interested as long as I don't have to go anywhere other than this thread.
If you're asking because of web filters or something, the images will be hosted on either imgur or dropbox; haven't decided yet. If that works, you're good.

If you're just being lazy, you're good!
Yeah, mainly because I will be playing/following at work
Also, I'm going to be unavailable for various points of the day. If that's going to upset the pace of things (I don't know how fast pbp games tend to go here), feel free to kick me out.

We're all grown-ups with jobs and shit. You should be fine.
Also, I'm going to be unavailable for various points of the day. If that's going to upset the pace of things (I don't know how fast pbp games tend to go here), feel free to kick me out.
I'm pretty sure no one expects you to be online literally the entire day. Even I, a basement dweller and layabout student sometimes have stuff to do in the so-called real world.
Generally, for complicated games like this, I feel like there is usually no hard expectation of anything more than one move per weekday. Of course it's great when it works out to be faster, but with time zone differences and real world obligations that can't always be.
Initial round order will be the reverse of the character choice, so @Astaereth gets to pick the first tactic. I'll be sending hands out momentarily, so go ahead and wait on that.
Oh, and if you need a mulligan, just ask any time before your turn comes up.

Also @ObiFett if you already know what you want to do you can PM your turn to me and I'll fire it off once the last tactic is picked. You can even make it conditional based on the choice.
Everyone else can feel free to do the same in any appropriate situation.
2 - Rethink Discard Threaten and Tranquility, draw 2.

New hand sent.
ObiFett's action!
Play Swiftness to move East
Attack the Monster to my SE
During Ranged Attack
- Use Red Mana from the Source to use the Powered version of Battle Versatility (Ranged Attack 3)
- Play Mana Draw
- Use White Mana from the Source to use the Powered version of Swiftness (Ranged Attack 3)
ObiFett levels. His skill reveal is Dark Paths (+1 Move during the day, +2 Move at night) and Power of Pain (Once per turn you can play one Wound sideways for +2 to Attack/Block/Move/Influence.) He takes Power of Pain and Ambush.

@Bursar as much as I enjoy making Geth roll dice, I can automatically return-and-roll right from the VASSAL module so I'm going to roll the dice that way. The green die did, in fact, reroll to green.

jakobagger gets Tovak.
ObiFett gets Arythea.
Astaereth gets Norowas.

Also, is there a list of what each tactic does? Or is that buried in the rules somewhere?
If you click the little options gear and choose full resolution you should be able to read the cards. I can, and my screen is quite small.
edit: because the contents of my hand could influence my tactic choice
You do. You should all have your hands now, so I'm going to let @Astaereth confirm that he still wants The Right Moment.
Quick note: if you all could use bold text to indicate game terms like tactics, cards, skills, etc, that would help me a lot.
@ObiFett
Edit: Thanks!

Wait until you facetank a werewolf and you'll never want to see the word "consequences" again.

Norowas (Astaereth) - 5 hand, 11 deck.

Actions
@Bursar to take his turn.
If you wanted to discard any card(s) that were in your hand at the end of the turn, this is when you would tell me.
If anyone feels like tracking all my silly record-keeping errors we can do an over/under bet on the total.
All the stuff in the game, that is
Edit. Okay, I'll put it here!
Take a green mana die from the mana pool
Use it to power an upgraded Will Focus
- Use that to play Stamina for 4 + 3 = 7 move.
Play Rage and Rage sideways for 2 more move.
Move SE, E, SE, E, and stop on the village.
End turn.
No discard.
Replacing the source die:
Geth, roll 1xM
