For passes, I recommend you be ready every weekday from say 10 AM ET until 4 PM ET and follow @Official_PAX and @rkhoo on Twitter with alerts sent to your phone. I'm surprised the site isn't even updated yet. Doesn't that normally update a couple weeks before passes go on sale, or does it also sometimes happen the week or day of?
well know its soon when the sites updated and the dates are official.im doin the same thing as you said with the social media being sent to my phone.i got mostly everything pax east related sent to my phone so i dont miss the chance.also got like 100$ in the bank just incase they really jack up prices this year.
To be safe, if they drop 3 day passes (which seems a given considering how well that worked for Prime), and assuming a small bump in single day prices, $150 for 3 days per person seems reasonable to cover the badges.

While the 3-day passes are great for the discount you get if you're going to actually attend all three days, the stress of having to secure and care for this ONE badge is not worth it. I preferred the single day passes at Prime, and would like to see this continued at East.
If they forgo 3-days for all singles I would hope the the price wouldn't increase, but remain the same. Why increase the price?
i can do without a 3 day too.usually ill go for all 3 days but use sunday as a roam around boston and explore.im from the other side of MA so i dont go out that way very often.there use to be a group that did the same thing i did.or atleast a thread about it few years ago.

The last few retweets by @rkhoo for the Desert Bus event have made my heart skip a few beats.
I only see the first few words on my notification and the last one was a retweet that said " AND IT BEGINS! ... " I almost dropped my phone trying to unlock it and get to the message to click links... HAHA
Khoo must giggle every time he tweets. I'm sure he knows that thousands of folks drop everything to read his tweets when waiting for PAX East passes to go live. :-) I sure do!

yea I really hope it is not that big of a increase in price that would be 55.00 from a 3 day pass last year I could see maybe 115 or 125 but hoping it stays around the price it has been
Haha, I don't know how you guys can handle turning notifs on for BOTH Official PAX and Khoo's Twitter. My heart won't be able to handle that.
Despite having a better chance at tickets, I'll just stick with Official PAX anyway.
Starting to wonder if we'll actually get tickets this month. I'm leading towards December, if we don't get any announcements this coming week.

I believe one of the main reasons why people are following both is because last year Khoo sent out a tweet of something completely random shortly before Official_PAX announced that tickets were on sale.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but wont the ticket status on the main PAX East turn to "SOON" and the countdown timer begins days before ticket sales actually begin?

Correct. In the past, it had the count down prior to tickets going on sale. We haven't even gotten that far as of yet.

That is what I have asked as well. Is there a precedent to always update the page before passes go live, can one of the old-timers here let us know? If it has always been updated at least one day before, since it is not updated yet, that might leave us off the hook for today at least. But I don't know that is the case or not. My memory seems to show it being updated at least a week in advance.
Wasn't there one year where the site update and ticket/hotel sales all happened at once? I seem to remember that. So I wouldn't necessarily expect 'SOON' to precede sales. Just be on guard always (all non holiday weekdays). Unless Official_PAX announces something that says Dec or whatever.
The past couple of years, tickets usually went on sale a few days after the website updated.
With that said, this is the latest we've gone without tickets going on sale or even the website updating. I have a strong feeling that tickets will go on sale at the same time the website updates.
So while the website updating is usually the final warning, be prepared for everything going up at once.
My group is monitoring the website and usually treats the update as a 24 hour notice, at maximum. Generally our philosophy is once its updated we go on high alert and start trading out shifts to keep an eye on the tickets going life. In earlier years it would mean a few days but the margin is getting shorter and shorter. Basically, be prepared to move fast.

Agree. I think, given the website issues last year (it went completely kaput), they might be holding off on the update until day/time of. That way, no crazy, constant refreshing is going on during the "peak times".
Probably a stupid question, but where are you seeing this?
There is a block of hotels separate from the attendee block for exhibitors. It would not surprise me if this block goes out earlier than everything else.
I can't see a 50+ jump on ticket prices, 10 bucks maybe, but I doubt they'd want to deal with the fallout of increasing the price by 50%, though they are aware that ticket prices are a moderating effect on sellout times (less people could go at 150 each/multibuy at 150).
what is the website they use to sell the passes on?just want to register and put my card info and such in so i dont have to do it when they go on sale.

Showclix is the site, but there is no way to pre-register for tickets, i.e. put in you card info. When tickets go live you got to jump on those bobcats and make them your pups!
Don't worry. You've got about 7-10 min window to enter the info. I know it sounds short but it seems quite long if you are committed to buying the tickets you selected.

If I'm not mistaken the years before the big jump were only a 5-10 dollar difference.
I've been watching the site like a hawk since South wrapped. I've got this three hour window where I'm not going to have internet access and I don't have a friend to watch the site. So, if my luck runs as it usually does, you guys can expect tickets to go on sale between 12-3 p.m. EST today.
The PAX site still hasn't been updated, the MCCA/BCEC site doesn't have the event listed and some of the hotels have rooms "blocked" for that week but won't say for what...trust me I've called a few. So if I were the betting type, I wouldn't put any chips down on today being the day...but only Khoo knows :P
