    The whole series is a semi-autobiographical story written by Leslie.

    Ben actually died last year, but Leslie couldn't accept it, so she skipped over the difficult years immediately following and shuttled them both into a happy future.

    Ann is actually a lesbian, but Leslie also couldn't accept that and so she wrote her dating a bunch of different guys trying to find one that felt right.

    April is actually with Tom, and Andy is with Donna.
