The entire gang is having one final meal at JJ's Diner before they go their separate ways. Get On Your Feet is playing happily in the background. Suddenly Mark Brendanawicz bursts in with a gun. The screen goes black as the music abruptly cuts off.
if glee doesn't end like this I will be legitimately upset

The series ends with the reveal that Sam Beckett actually leaped into Leslie in the pilot episode ("Ohhhhh, boy") and has been in control ever since. In the final scene, Sam leaps out, having righted what once went wrong.
And then a title card comes up telling us that (Quantum Leap spoilers y'all!)

I caught up on the final season recently, and it made me wistful about how good P&R was.
It went from a pale imitation of the Office to something much better. I can't recall any show that has ever been so funny while also being so nice. The show loves its characters even when it makes fun of them.
It is certainly ending at the right time, which The Office did not. I think The Office at it's peak (in my opinion) was a little better than Parks at it's peak, but not having to watch two seasons without Amy Poehler definitely works in Parks favor.

Dr. Samuel Beckett never returned home.
Nah, Becket didn't leap into Leslie until the beginning of Season Two
Even during the rougher parts of season 6 I never felt like Parks was a chore, and The Office eventually got bad enough that make me not want to watch it anymore.
And I think the best of Parks holds up just as well to the best parts of The Office without any of the Robert California shaped valleys.
“The Daily Show” duo Samantha Bee and Jason Jones have been handed a 10-episode series order from TBS for a comedy inspired by their own family road trips, Variety has learned.
Season two of the Office is one of my favorite seasons of television of all time. And season three isn't far behind. Season 8 was, admittedly, pretty bad, primarily because Andy became just...the worst character, but even those late seasons had fun bits. Erin was a really great addition to the cast, for instance.

Erin was one of my favorite characters. So was Andy for a while. The way his character was...handled...in Season 9 (and some of later Season 8) might be my least favorite thing the show ever did.

I'm going to be miserable after tonight with no more P&R.

I wish we had more shows like that.

parks was probably more enjoyable to watch because everybody liked each other and there was never any real risk that conflicts wouldn't be resolved
but parks also never put me through an episode like dinner party
And I think the best of Parks holds up just as well to the best parts of The Office without any of the Robert California shaped valleys.
And yet there are about 3 entire seasons of it that I've never seen and never will see
uh oh.
Here's probably the best Jean Ralphio scene in a walk

But The Office gave us 'Dinner Party' and 'Scott's Tots'.
When The Office was on point it may have been the strongest a sitcom as I have ever seen.
Uh-oh I accidentally deleted my signature. Uh-oh!!
Oh wait, no, I think this was my favorite scene. I love the responses of "Falling in love!" and "Partner dies on top of you!"

Parks gave us Flu Season and Fancy Party and The Comeback Kid

The other two being Seinfeld and Law & Order: SVU, right?
All the natural lines of succession have been cut
They're gonna have to bring in someone entirely new and they'll probably want to throw out the whole writing staff
It's basically going to be a new show
