That's a pretty great looking system, but I really don't know if I could commit my entire system appearance to one game like that. With that said, my son & I have been pretty obsessively playing Animal Crossing New Leaf lately. I restarted me town with my n3DS and bought him a copy of his own and now we visit each other's towns, compare neighbors, go to the island together, compete to pay off loans quicker, etc. It's really fun same room multiplayer.

My girlfriend pretty much has a 3DS for 90% Animal Crossing: New Leaf and 10% Style Savvy, so this is the system for her.
She's on three copies of ACNL (1 digital, 2 retail) and thinking about picking up a fourth.
Well, while she does have two 3DS systems (Used to be three, but she gave one away to a friend.) it's actually just so she can have multiple towns going at once.
I got sniped which was lucky as the price was about £20 cheaper than what a brand new N3DS XL costs. The worst part is I stayed up to see if it'd win and now I'm too tired to go into work, which thankfully I can pass as I didn't put my name down on the rota.
Thanks to the earlier suggestions about Etrian Odyssey Untold, I picked it up and have been playing it for a few days now. I gotta say, wow... SO many improvements that it feels almost like a different game from the original, and I'm loving it!
I know EO:U2 is coming out soonish. Wonder if they'll give the same treatment to 3.

The further along the games get, the less that they need it. I guess it is always possible to add a fixed party and a bonus dungeon, but plot becomes an increasingly heavy focus.
REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Nintendo 3DS owners looking to embark on a legendary adventure will get their chance when The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes launches for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems on Oct. 23. One of Nintendo’s biggest critical hits at this summer’s E3 video game trade show, The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes lets up to three players team up locally, via Download Play with one game card or online using a wireless Internet connection to cooperatively explore inventive dungeons and battle bosses.
The Legend of Zelda is one of Nintendo’s most storied and beloved franchises, selling more than 30 million games in the U.S. alone. In The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, up to three players play as Link, with each hero selecting a different outfit equipped with a special boost or ability. One outfit might grant the wearer the ability to shoot arrows, for example, while another could provide more life-saving hearts. A new Totem mechanic allows three Link characters to stack on top of each other to reach higher ground and solve puzzles. The game can also be played solo, allowing one player to rent two paper dolls to take along to complete the legendary team of three.
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes is one of many fun Nintendo 3DS games launching between now and the end of the year, including Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon (Holiday), Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (Sept. 25), Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash (Oct. 9) and Japanese sensation YO-KAI WATCH (Holiday).
What exactly is Happy Home Designer? Is it literally what it sounds like? Just the house building portion of AC.
It seems like it's a greatly expanded version of that, yes. I guess you are judged based on designing around themes the owners want. Also it looks like you can do more things than in New Leaf like ceiling hangings I think. And there was stuff in the trailer that looked like you were designing schools and exteriors and stuff too. So there is more to it, but basically yeah.
I can't really decide if I'm interested or not. I'm thinking not but *shrug*
Thinking about buying HHD eventually leads to me buying some amiibo card packs.
Nintendo don't you do this to me...

One thing that would 100% get me to buy it would be amiibo integration with the non-Animal Crossing amiibo so, for example, you were designing a house for Samus, or Link, or Bowser, etc. They will never do it, but that sounds way more fun to me than the random semi-generic animals
I wonder if the cards will be ok to trade around? My son and I both have 3DSs and both are interested in HHD - but I would hope that we could pass the cards between us and not have to get a complete set for both of us.

Yeah my wish would be for support for non-AC amiibo from other franchises. That would be cool.
I just don't know how HHD could be fun for me personally. It's tough to grade creative endeavors. I feel like it's the sort of game that would be super lax and always congratulate you on a job well done for just throwing stuff anywhere you want. "Hooray you expressed yourself! I said I like yellow furniture and you put at least one yellow thing here so it's the best room it can be!"

The same feng shui system the other games use.
I'm cool with this. I never do Happy Home stuff in the games because I like my house my way, but now I can actually partake in this "game" portion (mini-game?) without messing up my stuff.
Really, though, I'm surprised that being an HHD isn't just going to be a part of the next one.
Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!
I guess Code Name S.T.E.A.M. sold really poorly. Fry's has it up for $10 with email code today. Like, I'm not super interested in the game; I still have a lot of XCOM and Valkyria Chronicles to play. But at that price, it's very tempting.

Nothing about the setting or mechanics made me interested in giving it a second glance, myself. Didn't even bother with the demo.
I wonder how much that applied to everyone else. I suspect that in the future this is going to be used as lesson on making sure that the market actually wants the thing that you're offering them.

Code Name STEAM was kind of amazing actually. Super fun, entertaining story and dialogue. It had a big problem with being really slow because enemy turns took forever, but that was fixed with a patch. It is too bad that it sold so poorly, but that was the gamble on Nintendo's part.

For that much, snap it up. It's fantastic!
