it really is a shame they don't have lines. i get from a design standpoint that'd be a lot of work, but it doesn't get any less jarring to have completely silent characters when everyone else is speaking.
i kinda haven't picked this game back up after a week because the storyline has some ridiculous difficulty spikes. i'm somewhere in the cell saga and i really feel like i'm getting slammed.
It's designed in a way that you need to "train" by doing PQs inbetween story chapters and maybe also gain better attacks
I usually don't like having to "grind", but here I felt it was in tone with the series, you also never get stuck doing really boring stuff (unless you farm for one specific attack or dragonballs)
oh wait the dragon can't revive people who died of natural causes
CRISIS RESOLVED
Well it still doesn't make sense cause like... one, none of the other Z-fighters died of natural causes. Two, Dragon Ball is a universe where literally the dead can very easily communicate with the living. So Goku and friends could have told Gohan where to find (New) Namek to wish everybody besides Goku back. Or Goku could have told Gohan about the hyperbolic time chamber thing, and Gohan could have trained in there to beat the androids. Or... basically, Future Trunks timeline doesn't make sense, don't think too hard about it.

The status of the dragon on New Namek is ambiguous in FT's timeline, since the androids kill everyone quite quickly, Kami is/was ostensibly still the guardian of the planet since fusion with Piccolo never occurred. Goku wouldn't have known to tell gohan about the hyperbolic time chamber because he dies well before the androids show up and Gohan is still a kid at the time.
Yeah I ended up just going around in Goku's gi for 3/4 of the game. Every upgrade that gave more ki special damage was just another version of it. Eventually I got a blank one so it didn't seem like I was wearing his hand-me-downs, but I kind of wish clothing didn't have stats at all. Or that there was crafting slots or something.
Yeah, hope fully that's something they address in Xenoverse 2. Don't tie stats directly to clothing like that. Less RNG in drops. And expanded master system.
That's all they need, I think. They knocked this first one out of the park.
My main complaint about armor stats is that they fit 3 or 4 archetypes
I want armor that increases Basic Attack and Ki Supers, but it doesn't exist
Beerus' clothes increase all three attack stats, by a lot, but tank both your health and Ki. L(a)unch's clothes have the same effect, but are DLC and, may I say, somewhat tacky on my character.

I wore White Ginyu Force Armor for most of the game because it's Strike armor
And then I switched to GT Trunks clothing which looks totally absurd on my giant swole dude

Epilogue of the trunks movie should just be that everyone is hanging out on a slightly overcrowded King Kai's planet

but then it wouldn't be a secret monster hunter game
This may be a dumb question, but I already mastered Piccolo, can I find him again so I can get his Z-Soul? Is it just super random who pops up?
Keep him as your mentor and do PQ's and he'll eventually give you a "Final" fight with him, which should give you his 5 star Z-Soul.
Before I knew that I switched to a new mentor, I was hoping there'd be an easy way to find him again, but I'm not seeing anything about it online besides "dudes pop up randomly"
I'm finding that not many armor options are good for ki users.
As a strike character I feel the opposite way
Yeah, nothing in the shop really feels like it compares to the 4-star stuff for Ki users
Gotta go figure out which are the best armors for strikers and farm whatever PQ that happens to be
Also MAN, I know the CPU needs to cheat a little bit to keep things interesting, but infinite ki forever is not an awesome way to do that because sometimes the AI decides it just wants to spam ultimates continuously
Ok...ssj trunks just did a move on me where I was paralyzed abd he shot be seven times where I couldn't move abd completely took me from full health to dead. Is that an actual thing or did the game glitch out

You get some strike gear for finishing all the storyline missions i believe.

Though he did say "Vegeeeeeeeeeta!" when talking to trunks randomly.

I kind of want to go through and try out all the techniques to find it which ones he has weird names for
(The Japanese name of the attack is "Makenkosappo")

It would totally make sense given what he went through as a kid.
Neglectful father, semi-abusive surrogate father, constant life or death struggles, several tail removals...
Ah well, this'll do.
I got it the day it came out for PC
maybe you win
complete a few more missions and he'll want to spar with you, that gives you his lvl5 soul. Every master does this.
GT Goku, I think it is, 4 Star Dragonball, if you're human.
That's about it.

But, like, why does Vegeta's equipment not give Ki Super bonuses when ALL of his noteworthy attacks are Ki Supers

This is totally viable, since min maxxing is nowhere near needed in this game.
I want Beerus' set but that PQ is so frustrating. I did it 12 times and got the ultimate finish once. So very lame.
I finished watching the Dragon Ball Z Kai seasons, I wish they had the Buu seasons, I really want to keep going.

I never fear death or dyin', I only fear never trying.

I got it last week

I've always had them just immediately offer that sparring session to me after I finished their final lesson.
