I am done. Finger is starting to hurt from hitting the trigger a bunch, and my gut has started to make noises.
That would be probably the first time I have actually went all tourney mode online in this game, and it is fucking annoying, holy shit Chopper. The stuff I need to do to fight Megaman for reals is long and damn tedious at times. Those were good games, but they were ever so tiring.

Power shielding and perfect shielding is your friend against Mega Man, is the main thing I will say. It's tougher to do online, but with a tad bit of prediction you can still do it regularly. Wyborn and MetaHybrid have gotten quite good at it.
But yeah, lemons are probably one of the best moves in the game, period. They're like Falco's short hop lasers from Brawl, but even worse.
I'm especially proud of the timing on the first kill. (Main reason I bothered saving it.)
I have pretty much only one other against Munkus thats worth watching but I'm bored and not going to upload it now.
Also I want to point out the irony in that by me trying to actually land on the platform, I missed when I otherwise would have landed just fine.
Good lord, the people who are very good at this game are something else.
Went up against this guy on For Glory. I'd say we were evenly matched, as far as technical ability goes, but the guy just read me like a book. Seemed to know everywhere I was going to be 1 second before I did, and rarely ever did I manage to read and punish him. And I don't see myself as being THAT predictable.
I feel like at a high level this game sort of becomes Rock Paper Scissors. And he just kept on throwing the right thing. Damn.

Of course, sometimes you get a match like that, and halfway through they... slip. Suddenly they lose control of the momentum, and you can turn things around. It's amazing. Nothing quite like coming from a stock and 80% down to win.

How many games did you have with them? If it was just one game then figuring you out that early is pretty impressive. I had a hard time predicting you and we had several games.

I had a decent idea of what Dave was going to do when we played, but I did not have the capability to power shield sufficiently to stop it.

Yeah, that's the thing. This guy perfect shielded and perfect pivoted like a champ. Seemed to almost never miss an input. It's frustrating to go up against people like that online, because I feel like I just can't be that consistent. Not sure if it's (1) my old man reflexes (2) online input lag (3) Mega Man's frame data, or a little bit of all the above. I hate it when I see an attack coming, go for a power shield or spot dodge to counter it, yet still eat the attack because my shield/dodge just didn't come out in time.
Anyway, beat the guy like the first 5 games, then lost the next 15 once he figured me out, heh. Pretty humbling experience, but learned a bit too.

I mainly saved this game because I was happy that I landed Kirby's version of DK punch on DK:

Apparently, Jiggs is super effective against Fire/Flying types:
I landed a nice short-hop to rest, and actually landed my Jiggs WoP combo online for once! Yay! And I nearly got a second short-hop rest...but it chose to do a down-air instead of rest.
An entertaining, if brutal, match to say the least.
EDIT: And yes, I just fucking love the Megaman stage because it has the best music.

I either have an easy time with jigglypuff or face one that knows what they're doing and have a lot of trouble. Playing as Ike gives me a good advantage though with his reach, but Ganondorfs lack of recovery means a wall of pain is usually a death.
I'm visiting Family in England now, so I can't have any matches here until I get back at the end of September. I have my 3DS so I can still mess with For Glory, but I imagine the lag we'll be terrible for anything else.

I got into Jiggs, strangely, because I tried to sandbag against friends to give them a chance in Melee. Then I slowly figured out that Jiggs was really fucking good and she became my main in Melee.
And that transferred pretty well to MK in Brawl.

What character did they play?
He rotated between Marth, Roy, Ness, and Lucas. All guys with quick "get off me" nairs and excellent grab followups. A lot of times he would just run up, perfect shield, and immediately nair and I would have a tough time dealing with that.
I don't suppose you saved any of the matches, did you
Nah, sorry. It was late at night and I wasn't thinking ahead that much.
They were mostly close games and he wasn't doing anything particulalry special technique wise. He just won the neutral more, got more reads than I did, and was much better than me at perfect shielding online at 2am
I've stopped playing For Glory almost completely. I think my skills are starting to atrophy at this point
It's hard to find decent players on For Glory, most are bad, but you'll run into a high level player so often like Chopperdave did.
The tournament mode would be a great place to find skilled players, but there is a lot of things wrong with it that make it more trouble than it's worth to be honest.
I only started practicing ledge trumping and stage spiking, so I know I can get better than my current skill level, but those things probably need to be practiced on better players. The problem with that is working on those two things online is so much harder with lag, most times I'll fast fall off the stage and almost suicide.

Practicing the ledge trump is almost character dependent as much as it is skill-dependent
So is the wall-o-mancy
Chasing is probably the part of my game I'm weakest at but I still feel like I'm plateauing; my chase game hasn't relaly improved in the past few months

Yeah, I'm impressed by players who can consistently pull off really timing dependent stuff online. The better I get at the game the more I realize how even a little bit of lag can hurt my ability to perfect shield, z-grab items, ledge trump, punish airdodge spam, and other stuff that involves a fairly strict frame window for inputs. Wouldn't know that lag was an issue against some of the guys I run into online, but I think they're really beating me on prediction more than anything else.

Also, theres no way on earth I teched out that choke hold on purpose. also, all my perfect shields aren't me because I am absolute crap at shielding normall.y
I think Lucina might be easier to learn. I've seen some pretty good Shieks, but my hands mess up when I try to do the things they do. Hell, I can't follow most of it.

Then you either weren't landing sweetspots or you were landing them at such low percentages that they didn't have time to apply any KBG
