Well @Wyborn I took your recommendation of Wii Fit Trainer to heart and I've been cleaning up in For Glory with her. There's something beautiful there despite her lack of range on her melee attacks, my win rate is only going up. I'm also improving my fundamentals a lot because she basically requires it. Lots of getting my opponents to 60/70% before I start taking hits.
Link is an asshole, though. Toon Link doubly so because of WFT's issues with shorties.
I think what I really like is the amount of off stage mind games I can play with WFT and her amazing recovery, slow fall, and range. I can use all of her specials before recovering as well as a few potential meteors. It's rad. Compared to ZSS, who suicides if you're facing the wrong direction as you leave the stage, it's a nice treat.

I still think Wii Fit Trainer should get like just a little bit of extra range on like most of her tilts and smashes.
It would make her unstoppable, really. Her smashes and tilts have insane knockback, especially with Deep Breathing. What really needs a bit of extra reach is her grab, and the hit boxes need a little more vertical distance to hit shorties like Ness, Pikachu, Toon Link, and Kirby,

her up tilt is the big one that i feel like needs a buff, it's really hard to hit anyone with that thing
anyone up for some late night smashing? I'm playing as sonic, not because i wanna actually use him but because he's a character that leans heavily on good spacing and tilts and by good those are two skills i gotta develop
GGs @Zilik! I feel like your spacing and punish game with Robin has improved, but it still looks like G&W has a pretty strong advantage in the matchup. I don't know how long you've been using Lucina but she's already giving me trouble so I figure that's only going to get harder for me as we play more.
@AbsurdProposition GGs. Was hoping I'd be able to figure something out that would help me deal with G&W, it doesn't seem like he should beat Robin that badly. I'd really like to use her more, but she seems to have bad matchups against most of the heavy hitters on these forums.
As for Lucina, I've really only used her in casual matches with friends, though I think I have a basic idea of how to use her. I wanted to see how a faster character would do against G&W since both my mains are pretty slow. It might be worth it to pick her or Marth up as another alt for the tourneys.
If the pattern from the past games holds, Lucina and Marth should have good matchups against G&W. They're fast and have larger disjoints than he does, and they should usually be killing him at a lower percent than he can kill them. Plus, I know I personally get wrecked by characters with Counters, so they have that going for them as well.
ChopperDave is the guest TO this week! Like last week, we're doing formal stage striking for the starter stages, which means you and you opponent take turns banning starter stage until just one is left (which is where you play the match). The higher seed is just the player with the higher number.
Double Elimination, with regular matches will be best of three 1v1 matches with three stocks. Winner, Loser, and Grand Finals will be best of five. Time for all matches is eight minutes.
The results of Sudden Death are ignored, and the player with the lowest damage percentage when time expires is the winner.
Items, and equipment are banned; Custom Moves are allowed.
Players may switch characters/moves between matches. The winner of the previous match opts to change first (notify your opponent of whom) and then the loser may change their character in turn.
Starter Stages: 1. Battlefield, 2. Final Destination (or an identical Ω stage), 3. Duck Hunt, 4. Smashville, and 5. Town and City.
A starter stage is chosen via striking. Starting with the higher seeded player, players go back and forth banning starter stages until there is one stage left. The set begins on that stage.
After a match, the winner may ban up to two stages. Then the loser picks the next stage, and which may be any of the starter stages or the following counterpick stages: Castle Siege, Delfino Plaza, Kongo Jungle, Pokemon Stadium 2, Luigi's Mansion, Skyloft, Wuhu Island, Lylat Cruise, and Halberd. The loser may NOT pick a stage they have previously won on in that set.
When a set is finished, report results on Challonge. If you wish, you can also report the scores of each match (how many KOs each player got), but this is optional. If a mistake is made, report it to me and it'll be fixed.
Sets should take thirty minutes to complete. If after five minutes your opponent has not shown up, please contact me and you will win the set by default.
When playing on Final Destination, either player may choose to play on Omega Palutena's Temple instead.
Smasher's Agreement: a player make pick a stage not on this list if both players agree to it.
ORDER: Winner Bans Stages -> Loser Pick Stages -> Winner Announces Character -> Loser Announces Character -> Play Match

i was playing a game against my friend who decided to goof around and try out Ganondorf, and I couldn't decide who to play so I asked him to pick. He chose Jigglypuff. I'm not great with Jiggs by any means but I can hit my friend with Rest pretty consistently so it's okay.
This match, I fucking leaped into a waiting warlock punch by mistake, taking my first of two stocks. Moments before, I was talking about how I never use rollout because it never works well for me, and I'm happy to just wail with aerials. This time though, I was salty from the warlock punch and he was high enough damage that I'd thought I'd try it on respawn.
Sure enough, I hit him right in the face and send him flying, but not far enough to KO. So, being Jiggs, I decided to jump off the edge and try and kick him into oblivion.
He manages to pull off a side B midair and I just happen to fall right into his path, sealing my fate (and his). I was so mad.
i can't tell if i just kept getting bad breaks, or if i was choking on the last stock, or if i was getting saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaandbaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggged, but i seemed to lead a lot of those matches until the end and then lose
based on how much goofing around you would start doing on your last stock with the motorcycle/trampoline/etc. i have the distinct impression that it's the latter :P
Nah I was just experimenting with gimmicky stuff since I'm learning that trying things for the first time in a tournament never works out well. I actually cant sandbag since I usually don't think much when playing, so it ultimately takes more effort to do then just playing normally.
Wario's bite is probably one of the best moves in the game imo. It can wreck characters who don't have disjointed hitboxes. Like, assuming you had perfect timing I'm pretty sure bite can beat every one of Falcon's moves.

Is it just because it's hilarious

If they have custom moves it can be to see what you do.
Because you can make it be unblockable and unstoppable.
