I can not @hydrosqueegee every time I do it, it just disappears, and it only happens with hydro. I have to type out my whole message than go back and insert the @ and press post to get it to stay.
Anyway, Hydro, are just giving me shit about how the Jager-A lrms work vs. clans blndinging streamLRMs and burst autocannons right?

Also I'm not calling it Michael Bay vision anymore, I'm just calling it a Baykkake
Just disable the weapons while airborne for all I care. Hell, MWO tries to be true to tabletop in many respects and my table top mechs don't fire until after they've completed a jump.
Well, that's more because the tabletop rules break movement and firing down into separate phases. You could argue that the +3 modifier to-hit is meant to simulate the difficulty of firing mid-air.
True. If the weapons must be kept live, then accuracy can be diminished without inducing motion sickness. Just keep the screen and reticle steady but make the weapon convergence go haywire. That would restrict airborne firepower to close ranges and you wouldn't be able to concentrate firepower on a specific component.
... Or they could put jumpjets back how they were and put rectile shake back in as well. But thats a dead horse that doesnt need to be beat.
But but but MOTION SICKNESS! OMG the shake is making me nauseous PGI please fix WAAAAAAH.
(What an amazing coincidence that all of the people totally addicted to the poptart meta just happened to also be afflicted with this particular strain of motion sickness...)
It only took them:
Adding Gauss Rifle Charge Time
Nerfing AC10's
Nerfing AC5's (and AC2's just because)
Adding Ghost Heat to every weapon in the game
Adding Screenshake
Removing Screenshake
Nerfing Victors and Highlanders (Cataphracts and Shadowhawks hooooo)
Nerfing Jumpjets (Poor lights)
and then finally
They nerfed PPCs and the PPC meta finally changed. Who would have thought?

The Solaris VII dueling rules, I recently discovered, break down the TT BT turn from 10 seconds to 2.5 per dueling turn, and let you simulate firing while actually airborne. Thought that was neat. But yeah, modifiers. Bring back jump jet shake PGI! :P

Hiring flying debris to design their art assets was one of the best decisions pgi has made. He has a gift.
The best part, two best parts even, are that his art now shows up in the Battletech books (which means they're gorgeous++), and the other that the 3d artists at PGI are able to take those concept art designs and turn them into stompy having-all-the-dimensions bots. Props to all of them for it.
What is the legality about the art developed for PGI in regards to mech concept art?
What I mean is, Can battletech just strike a deal with the artist for their work and use it in battletech, or would they have to make a deal with PGI for the art, or both, they were interested in backporting the art to official tablestop stuff.

I think they'd have to have some sort of handshaking agreement to allow the BT line of products to use the MWO art straight-up. As it is, they don't really need to; Catalyst Game Labs (the current stewards of the BT line) has Flying Debris available as a contractor.
See this?
That cover was done by Alex (Flying Debris). And it's not the only one, which is why so many of the recent books have looked so baller.

I think the MWO pug queue has hit critical mass of stupid.
Saw someone boating streaks and never fired a single one of them because through the entire game she/he didn't lock onto a target once.
I don't understand how someone could boat streaks without making room for bap and tag. According to Murphy, the jesus box is always in play. You need to spend tonnage to pierce the shroud yourself.
That level of stupid reminds me of the trebuchet I saw that fired hundreds of lrms at target 100m away. Unsurprisingly, the missiles did nothing. At least he had a tag though.
There was no ECM, they were not being jammed. they just didn't lock the target, and since streaks only fire on a target lock..
Sometimes you can't account for people wanting to wear their pants on their heads.
It's quite the fashion statement actually.
Also, I haven't played stompy bots in forever. I tried the other day and got royally stomped. I think I'm rusty and I have no idea what the meta is anymore.

What's currently considered:
a) A really good medium
and
b) a really good heavy?
If the discussion over the last week or so has been any indication:
Medium: Centurion (IS), Stormcrow (Clan)
Heavy: Thunderbolt (IS), Timber Wolf (Clan)

Others can cough up some builds, I'm sure .
To add to the medium part. Hunchbacks, Shadowhawks and Enforcers are also amazing. Otherwise Nips has it pretty spot on. Most mechs have some merit now thanks to quirks, at least for IS. TDRs are considered the best heavy IS side, though I'm still partial to Jaegers myself because high mounted ballistics are baller.
Are people still doing the laser builds with Thunderbolts? Nips list looks pretty much the same since I last remember, except I don't remember Centurions being that special, so that might be new?
Keep in mind Thunderbolts are only good when used with their quirks. The Stormcrow and Timberwolf are god tier. If you select just 1 heavy, go for the TW. It can do anything.
Greetings MechWarriors,
We will be rolling out a hot-fix later today, tentatively scheduled for release at 2:15 PM PST (10:15 PM UTC), with the following changes:
Fixing the issue where targeting markers and boxes were
appearing on-screen without any associated 'Mechs
remaining on-screen without any associated 'Mechs
attaching to the aiming reticle
The currently estimated downtime period for this hot-fix is approximately 1 hour.
When services are restored you will be required to apply a small patch.
This post will be updated with further information and timeframes as needed.

Was the AH variant around when you last played? It was removed during the beta to avoid cutting into the sales of the yen-lo-wang. It was reintroduced as a loyalty reward last fall (it has a fancy paint job with an angel on it). I mostly see it used to throw 18 srms at a time towards the enemy. However you can also squeeze an ac20 into the arm if you want.
I think it is supposed to be available from the game shop on the near future?

Holy shit I am WAY too used to the MW4 Shadowcat. The arm on the MWO version is breaking my mind.
At first I was like "Whaaat? What's Tog on about here?" Then I went a looked at some images, and sure enough, no handy-arm. Huh. Guess I forgot some of the alternate variants had weapons in both arms.
I've been considering selling my ERPPC thunderbolt because with two erppcs and a couple MLas its just too damn hot since the nerfening.
if I did I'd probably replace it with the Thunderwubs big LPL brother.
The secret to the S is playing peek and poke. You cant go into a brawl all guns blazing. You will die.
I know but even with only 3 backup MLs its got a heat rating of like 1.01
The keyword there is backup. You use them on shit that gets in your face. Maybe use one of the ERPPCs close in with them. Theyre your point defence weapon.
I plan on being on later. Just got home from a 12 hour day. Need to mech it up.
I just got on my computer and noticed how F-Huge that shadow cat image was. Sorry guys. I didn't realize that from my phone. I totally would have spoilered that thing.
