I see, driving me back to clan. After I logged in last night while the contracts were up just to switch back to the glorious FRR.
I know it's tough, being in a unit that rewards meritocracy and personal achievement, then switching over to ride with the slumming boozehounds of the IS.
No worries, you'll remember how to tune Buttcleft out again before too long.

Just pretend the gentle pinging of machine gun rounds off your rear armor is the soothing babble of a gentle brook, and you'll be okay!
I set up my cent d with 2 ac5s and 2 medium lasers but didn't get a chance to run it before responsibilities crit my free time. I'll probably still grind cbills in my Wang until I can afford a new AL for the one I foolishly sold 2 years ago. All part of my master plan for a King/Cent/Cent/Cicada deck that I expect will perform just well enough to trick me into thinking it's viable.
I agree with you on the mediums issue. My problem when I pilot my cents is that I usually do that right after a long light marathon. So I end up running out with the other lights and the heavies/assaults on the other team go, "oh hi there easy kill". When I do get into my medium groove is when I start out as a light harasser/killer then end up the match taking out the heavies/assaults that are left behind. Of course this is only with my Cents. On my Stormcrow I act like a heavy and take on anything with my odd laser build.
Mediums are easiest to play when you sit behind a heavier mech driving the assault, where you can back up the frontal firepower but have the reactionary speed to deal with flanking manouvers (ie. many light pokers)
We'd like to thank everyone again for all your support and amazing feedback during the MechLab PTS this month!
We're excited to show you the changes we've made and the feedback we've integrated since the MechLab PTS ended. We think you'll like the changes we've made to the Warehouse in particular....
NGNG will be running through a sneak-peek of the release build of the new MechLab during this weekend's Weekend Update!
If you don't have a chance to catch that peek this weekend, you won't have to wait much longer...we're releasing the new MechLab overhaul onto the Live servers in the June 2nd patch!
The new MechLab is a huge improvement over the current system, and we will continue to make additional improvements and refinements moving forward. As promised, we are still going to provide a rundown on the feedback we received during the MechLab PTS, to let you know what we've already integrated and what might be integrated in the future.
The Public Test Forums have now been closed. With the new MechLab releasing in Tuesday's Patch, further discussions regarding the MechLab can be held elsewhere on the forums.
We have great plans to use the Public Test Server in the near future, so stay tuned!
2 LPLs, running around like a maniac at 99% heat the entire game = pain. Note the light mechs carrying the team.
Please also note Solen Eecev, who was whining and throwing out homophobic slurs half the match because he was stupid and ran into the enemy team unsupported. He was also convinced that we were losing the entire match...despite being only 3 of us left at the end, after about the halfway point it wasn't really close.
The Timber Wolves on their side were gloriously chewy- I was behind and above them for a while, shooting their front CT while our King Crab tanked.
G B Vandanburg, on the other team, gets an Honorable Mention. Low damage, but he was the one that chased me off when I was behind their team filling it with laser fire and no one noticed. He also tanked like a beast in that Zeus- by the time we brought him down he had no torsos and red legs.
Then immediately followed by this one, where I spent half the match out of ammo and running around trying to attract fire. AC/20 as the only gun does have some downsides.
Early tonight I was in my King Krab. In the middle of the map on Canyon, the teams had yet to engage each other. It was quiet. A blip on my radar behind me from an ally - a spider running around.
Well it runs right around one of those pillars straight into my waiting clamps.
Someone tell me why I shouldn't be a whale... Convince me!
Since you asked...
The game is still the same repetitive, slow arena shooter. There is no larger metagame, and although the current meta now revolves around midrange laser dps builds instead of pinpoint alpha, weapon/mech balance is still pretty bad overall. The PUG queue is as frustrating as ever despite VOIP (which, predictably, is primarily a vehicle for idiots to hurl verbal abuse at teammates) and the group queue produces matches that are usually three-minute wipeouts. There are more new 'mechs than there are useful roles for, and every indication is that PGI will continue to prefer issuing content that they can collect money for now rather than investing in the long-term health of the game.
Unless you really like playing 'mech pokemon, I would find another game to sink your money into, because collecting pretend robots is most of the game at this point.

I've actually seen very little use of VOIP in the pug queue, most players still use text chat to co-ordinate. Implementation of VOIP was a long time coming, though, and super necessary regardless.
I imagine premades would use it a little more effectively

It has ballistic torsos, which is even better.
Wait, what???
Last time I logged in you called me a girl. Do you take that back now that I have the shield next to my name instead of a badge?

Seriously, can we drop this sexist shit, @Konphujun
@Betsuni is a woman, not a girl.

That's promising

Dual AC20 to the center torso.
I AM AWAITED IN VALHALLA
Enforcer may have a chance. Maaaaybe the grasshopper. I might give the ENF a try tonight.
Does not compute.
because being a whale involves buying every active oosik the resistance 2 pack.

Come, let me play you the song of my people.
You like cephalopods and as such you shall not endorse cetacea.

Makes me wish I'd have gotten the maddog or timberwolf instead.
I've been loving my Hellbringers, man. 4LL, LPL + 5ML, 6ML. You can do a ton of damage, you get a shield side usually, and you get ECM to boot.

The AH was nerfed a while ago and the SRM4 specifics were removed and replaced with lesser generic missile quirks, fyi
and this is why I have a hard time making big purchases in MWO.
I can give MWO 80 dollars, and get a few mechs in the same game I already play.
or I can spend 80 dollars on a steam sale, and get 150 new games.
Or I can put that 80 towards upgrading my computer that's rapidly getting aged out.
