I have to +1 the mid level ranges. 4-8 is my pubby sweet spot where the game really starts to rock. Forgiving enough for new folks, and no sneaking required. After running with an awesome group of 10-12 level folks on a rank 8 the stealth runs just aren't that fun. Nothing like watching a squad come together amid the chaos and explosions of hectic missions. By the time Laser Cannon got unlocked for them they were killing half the bug tanks with drop pods if I'd just keep big guys stunned. Something priceless about tank spawns being looked upon as an optimum time to resupply. Really, really, wish I had more commendations to give.
I really like level 10 or so even with randoms, although it can get frustrating. I actually find 12 kind of dull since really it's just a lot of running away and dropping distract beacons.

Who here is actively playing? Need to add some of you. Seems like the list in the OP is out of date/not being maintained. I'm on most days: Chace8625.

Same. When I log in, I'll check to see if some PA are playing, if I see some, their games are usually full so I end up playing with random peoples in public games.
Ok, that new commando launcher is a pretty skippy counterpoint to recoilless . Basically the guided grenade launcher with smaller blast but longer range and guided. Hits decently hard, 2 hits for the med melee bugs and ~4 for assassination targets on rank 5. Liking it more then maxed guard dog for sure, stun only seemed useful when dancing with bug tanks.

Kind of tempted on that DLC, but most of the time I'm playing this, it'll be couch coop. I assume it works like the ranger pack, where the other people playing with me on my system won't be able to access it? Not entirely a dealbreaker, but slows my enthusiasm enough to make it not an insta-buy, if so.

I've seen people coop it and all be logged in to the same account. At least I assume that's why I've joined games with 2 people using the same name. I could be entirely wrong.

Someone on GAF said that it's the same as the Ranger pack: only available on the account that bought it.
So @JusticeforPluto and I decided my turret wins the award for most TKs considering every time it drop it it kills at least 2 teammates. It's outrageously consistent... I think my GTA character programmed it.
So... I stepped on myself with my own mech suit. That's a thing that can happen.
It was pretty hilarious.
Happens all the time with the Tank. It's seems I'm really bad at making a full stop before getting out.
I think I'm only missing 2 Stratagem now (the missle and the Laser turret, both requiring level 10 mission). Still have a lot of fun with the game.
It seems we are pussing the bugs really far out on their territory. Wonder what will happen if we win all the way against the Bugs since it's a meta game. Will they disapear and we are left to fight cyborg and the protos ?
I really hope not, really hate dealing with high level illuminate. Bugs always having 2-3 times more players then the other factions seems pretty clear indication that balance is needed.
Yesterday it looked like it was a zone away, so looks like it should hit this weekend, I'll be around and ready to shoot things (mostly not you...mostly)
You get 48 hours to eradicate the bugs once they are gone only borgs and illuminates can be fought.

Yeah, capital city defences are 4 hours long, homeworld attacks are 48 hours.
I put a couple of easy missions into the homeworld attack last night. The 2xXP boost is awesome but I'm really not sure the attack will be a success, there's a LONG way to go.
Edit: Just logged back in and it hasn't moved a millimetre since last night. Looks like it's been balanced horribly because there's no chance whatsoever of it being completed. Still a good way to get a lot of XP if you're interested though.

There's some speculation that the Bug homeworld is ... bugged. Supposedly the event bar was moving much faster at the beginning, but now it's gotten stuck. Either they changed the requirements on the fly (seems unlikely) or it got bugged.
Anyway, looks like Arrowhead is working on some new free content.
Looks like they will be adding in some new enemies. The last picture on the page reminds me of the hydralysik (think that's the one) shooting its arm underground..... cant wait for new stuff, i've seen it posted on reddit but I'd like to see an underground brainbug mission for the bugs. Each race with its own special type of missions.

Yeah, the Bug homeworld assault seems to be a fizzle.
Edited to prevent confusion. The author did not mean to imply that Super Earth's intervention to protect pro-democracy protesters on the insectoid homeworld in any way constituted an 'assault.' Moreover, the political editorial staff wishes to remind the reader that Super Earth is currently in conflict with the undemocratic forces which have seized power in Illuminate space. At no point would it have been accurate to describe Super Earth as having been 'at war' with an entire species, let alone the (surviving) bugs.

If winning removes bugs from the war instead of resetting the war with them, I just might boycott the invasion as well. Found some awesome squads and run some level 12 missions on bug home world but if winning removes my favorite faction to fight.
Sega, Guibs, and I did several of the level 6 and level 9s on the bug homeworld last night. If the bar is bugged, then fair enough, though I still think there needs to be some incentive to do the 9+ dives. As it is, you can complete the whole thing and still not get any points for the event because they're based on stars.

I wouldn't be suprised if arrowhead just boosted the pool into needed to defeat the bug to make it impossible to do since it is happening too fast to them. I would,d not be suprised one bit.
Yea losing apparently only pushes us back one zone - which means probably another day until the homeworld event happens again. So if they are paying attention to the numbers they can see how much we get this time and tweak it to be doable but challenging for the 2nd attempt

It's a bit silly design if the bugs are going to get eliminated, since a lot of people do enjoy them the most. Also, I couch co-op'd with a friend today, and we couldn't get a lot of stratagems for him since the normal bug sector is unavailable.
Looks like the bug homeworld campaign was successful, despite the bugged progress bar, but the trophy didn't pop for anyone. For the first big event, that was pretty botched.
Edit: Here's Helldiver's director's explanation that was posted on Reddit:
Hey Guys,
Apperantly there was an issue on the backend that caused two events to start at the same time. We believe the progress bar was recieved from the one that the points didn't go to, but the effects were still counted and that's why you saw the second event after the first one failed. (So, for all intents and purposes, you guys did well against the bugs)
We're investigating why this happened, and it's a bit sad that it happened in such a crucial step of the campaign. The next event will behave better.
I kind of enjoy the idea that a race is eliminated after a defeat then when you beat them all it resets, especially as a new player who never experienced earth defense levels

Don't know about that. The folks I was with tonight could roll a level 8 cyber without too many problem, but got spanked hard by a L6 illuminate. As in, over 10 deaths and 3 HAV's lost before second objective. Those tracking spark things are just insane. Cleared two cyber world's with them and first guy quit in disgust at all of us having reinforcement on constant cool down at second objective slaughterhouse, other immediately quit at ship when we failed to orbit. Very much unfriendly to casual play.
Cyber without loads of AT is rough but generally doable. That illuminated faction is crazy brutal after L4 without pure stealth though. I like the concept of how the wars work but the factions don't feel balanced.
@Darkyth and @juicebox989 decided to do a level 10 mission. Every objective thay could be failed, was failed.
The Dark and I did a level 7 in snow. Right as we complete the final objective some guy joins, kills Dark by dropping on him, shotguns me, grenades are other random teammate, dies, then books it before we can report him. Sooooo salty over that.
I'm actually starting to enjoy fighting the illuminates now. The biggest tip I can give is that you want weapons that shoot a lot. I got really used to my shotgun + rocket launcher setup vs the bugs, but bringing the mini-gun + an assault rifle actually turned out to be the best bet. The more bullets you can spray them with the better. Also someone bringing a sniper rifle to fire back at the inevitable off screen snipers also helps. The biggest trick really seems to be getting through the illusionists shields before they have a chance to invert your controls.
I'll try justice for unstoppable rounds to see if it helps. Normally there are a fair number of allies and melee mobs blocking me from shooting them at range. Also, I thought shooting them just made them explode there.

Justice is indeed really nice for illuminated spark o' doom. Guard dog pack is spotty but will occasionally kill a patrolled before alert is sent as well. Most pubs are like watching moths navigate through a bug zapper though.
Starting to wonder if squad just needs to walk around on those maps spraying MG fire and napalm in all directions. I have more faith in that then pubbie stealth.
