I'd like to see, and you can hate me if you want, classes withOUT restriction for weapons.
Sometimes I just want to run around with a M249 on all my guys....
I saw a kid get handed a JB poster by who I presume was his parents outside my store today....he tore it in half infront of his horrified parents.....There's hope for our youth yet!
Nah, I like classes but I hope the vehicle numbers are dialed back just a tad so not everyone is an engineer. 2143 with a squad system with some of the older elements from 2142. Plus Titan assault! Loved that mode! I was trying to figure out why I loved it but don't care too much for carrier assault, and I think it was the tight corridors. Carrier assault is a couple huge open rooms, but Titan assault was cramped hallways to the engine room, much smaller feeling than carrier assault and gave you that metro/locker meat grinder feeling after the open map battles.
I'm going to say futuristic since he's looking up at the sky and a shadow is about to cross over him

The teaser of the teaser announcement for the announcement teaser trailer.
Haha pretty muc what I thought. Silly meter is maxed on that 3 seconds of face shot

Based entirely on the guys coat and shoulders, it kind of looks like he's wearing an older era ww1 trenchcoat or something like it.
The lack of any kind of tactical looking shit like a vest and radio (which would be fairly visible) or whatever makes me think it's either A: pre tactical looking shit or B: some guy in a coat.
As for the shadow? I don't know. But uh, I think this is set in the past. Or I really want it to be set in the past. I don't think I can do Battlefield: Independence Day, man, I don't think I can.
It reminds me of the Matt Damon stare from Saving Private Ryan so Battlefield 1944?
I'm really starting to think it's a throw back.
Almost because I feel like Dice would go back and make a AAA blockbuster historical shooter just to take the piss out of CoD and their ever increasingly goofy future stuff.
That clip could be from practically any time period but the beige color of his uniform and dirt all over his face to me says more WW1/WW2 than anything futuristic. In 2142 everyone was wearing dopey helmets.

Am I the only person who hopes they go back to the more rigid roles for classes that BC2 had? Or at least announce a bad company 3 soon.
As for settings I honestly can't think of one that wouldn't feel overdone. We just have a shitload of games. Frankly hardline felt pretty unique in that regard.
One other reason I think the future setting is out is that at the end of the trailer they have a disclaimer that says "no weapon, gear or vehicle manufacturer has endorsed this game" or something like that. Could just be legal stuff but that implies they're using weapon and vehicle models based off real world designs, past or present. I assume you wouldn't need that if you had just made up a bunch of scifi weapons.

Nah, anytime they go to use a manufacturers name or names of actual weapons they'd need the approval of the manufacturer, so even if they're making up weapon names but saying theyre from an existing weapons manufacturer they'd need that weapons manufacturer's approval to use their name in the game.

I'm calling it now. Battlefield Delta Green style. You were expecting some kind of future ship, but here are some Old ones and things from beyond the stars!
Highlights from the campaign will be Innsmouth Massachusetts, Carcosa, the lost city of Pnakotus, and that time shit went bad in Cambodia

Make sense.
My thinking was more, "we have a *manufacturer name* rifle but we're not calling it a *manufacturer name* even though it is" kinda deal. I'm not really familiar with what actually requires that kind of legalese though.
Ww1 just seems like it would have to be a side game with the lack of variety in transport options and lack of armor until late war.
Static fronts aren't necessarily a problem though because some maps could simply be to cap and hold the enemys trenches in succession. And eastern front combat would be more mobile

Dammit. I was looking forward to today.

It's up. And I don't think it's WW1. Based on the 3 seconds of footage.
For the Instagram-challenged, which clip has the footage? Most of what I saw was Hardline footage (
I didn't see anything that would say one way or another....

Capcom pulled that off in the Street Fighter 5 trailer.

America vs USSR. No Cold War. Just war and cold.

Also this.
I'm hoping that they go more rigid ala bf2.

That's what happens when you see what was never meant to be seen.

Battlefield: Air Pirates. The shadow is a rigid airship lifting off.
Heard a rumor too that they might call it Battlefield 1... which is cool as fuck if it's squarely a WW1 game.
Hahah yeah sorry man, we'll be busy with that for a bit until the Beta is over. You're welcome to join.
