4chan is probably going to make Hitler win, citing his appearance in Bionic Commando.
Eh, actually that's too predictable for them at this point. I'll probably be like, Stephanie Meyer or something.
It's not like this is a simple vote where the most submitted option automatically wins, so 4chan can do whatever the hell they want, it won't really matter.

I think Nintendo's smart about this. the DLC ballot is open until OCTOBER, and they never said the criteria on which they'd pick a DLC. My guess is that they'll be able to see trends, and the necessity for an explanation of the choice will help too.
Now we get Fatal Frame V, SMTxFE is real (and is getting a winter release in Japan... nothing announced elsewhere I think), we get a crazy Yoshi yarn amiibo, 200cc mode in Mario Kart, and it's not E3 yet. We know that Devil's Third is happening, and also that Xenoblade X should be out some time this year, probably in the second half (it releases in Japan in a couple of weeks). Note that a lack of Xenoblade X info is partly because in Japan it's been getting its own mini directs. Another one is scheduled there for April 10th (19 days before release).
Sorry. For some reason I said cancellation but meant delay. My fault, hah.

Yeah Kotaku is trying to get Goku to win. I don't think thats how it works.
Why is everyone picking 3rd party characters that will never happen? :P
In my case, I picked ones that have A) historical ties to Smash, or Historical ties to Nintendo.
Even though it's not what Konami does with it these days, Castlevania is still a series I think of as being close to Nintendo. And I stand by my statement that Platinum should become a Nintendo 2nd party.
That said, with Kojima leaving Konami (or whatever the hell is going on there), the liklihood of Nintendo and Konami being buddy/buddy is much slimmer than it was.

Eh, almost every time they've rigged a poll the people doing it either discarded the results or went with the second place winner. It's just to show they can.
Can you imagine the factions forming on the internet right now? Smashboards forming up like an army, deciding on who they'll collectively back...various fandom sites for different characters sending their militias over to the page...
Why is everyone picking 3rd party characters that will never happen? :P
Exactly. Just stick to characters that might be possible and pick Captain Toad like any reasonable human being. I will also accept Inklings, Midna and Waluigi. Anybody requesting Ridley is just destined to get sad all over again.
Nintendo 64 and DS games on virtual console, finally. (I look forward to months of "Why aren't these DS games on my 3DS?" complaining.)
Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem looks like my jam.

Lucas confirmation for Smash wasn't followed by announcement of localized Earthbound 2 port for the North American eShop. Missed opportunity there.
No North American release date for Xenoblade Chronicles X. They're not going to talk about a game that's already out in Japan at E3, so the earliest we can expect a release date now is in a post-E3 Direct.
Sorry. For some reason I said cancellation but meant delay. My fault, hah.
See I was going to comment on that line in particular. Your mindset is that the delay means Christmas has been canceled, and you were hoping this direct would show that Christmas is back on. But E3 might give us that yet, patience.
I'd like to be way out there and have a multi-character character in the form of a pair of Advance Wars COs, and they use that to herald the return of Advance Wars to mobile as part of their partnership with mobage.
The Advance Wars characters would summon different kinds of AW units to do their dirty work, and clones of this base AW character would simply have summons with different speed/range/damage/etc, reflecting how the CO functions in game anyway.

Well yeah, like I said in the Smash thread, Simon Belmont is about the only 3rd party character I could *maybe* see them doing. But there is such craziness going on with Konami that I still think it's unlikely.

You mean Mother 3?
Nintendo's never going to touch that game with a 10 foot poll. Some important characters in the game are possibly gay/possibly trans (it's been a long time since I watched someone play it) and they don't want to be taken to task over some subtlety of their portrayal being offensive, or dealing with angry parents who don't want their kids being exposed to that sort of thing in what appears to be a colorful, cheerful kids' game (which, also on that note, includes some incredibly dark and depressing stuff).
I mean they just went through all that with Tomodachi Life without even intending to make any sort of statement, I think Nintendo just considers that a step too far for them and their image.

Nah. They won't touch Mother 3 because it's a *MASSIVE* RPG that would be expensive as hell to localize and probably not sell all that well :P

Hey what was that game where ant like aliens invade earth and you gotta take em out.. it was top down and the maps were seperated by force fields? It was like biohazard or bio contain or something hazard.. anyone know?
Edit: friggin Body Harvest. That was a good game. Maybe I'll vote for that guy.

B-but the fans already translated it and handed them their localization on a silver platter, and said "publish this!"
There are a ton of reasons why they will absolutely not use a fan translation - most of them legal :P There is probably also some Japanese stubbornness mixed in there too.
There are also considerations depending on *how* they would package the game. Would it be a straight GBA Virtual Console release? Would people buy a likely very expensive GBA Virtual Console title? (they aren't going to release that sucker at regular price if they put man hours into it). They'd also have to play test it, since they are not only emulating it (who knows if the emulator is properly emulating the game?), but also applying a translation patch. That's a ton of work/effort. If not VC, what is the cost of porting it to another system (i.e. 3DS, etc)? What about marketing? There are lots of hidden costs like that.
Edit: All that said, *if* we ever see it in English, I'm calling it - it will be part of some kind of compilation release sold at retail. Probably also including Mother 1, which they do have an official Nintendo translation for. (honestly, I am surprised THAT game isn't on the Virtual Console given they obviously aren't completely opposed to releasing Japanese-only games if they don't need to localize them)

If Nintendo released it here, I assume they would retitle it Earthbound 2. Or at least, Mother 3: Earthbound 2.
I doubt the content is a problem. The Magypsies aren't any more explicit than, say, Ghirahim or Yuga from the recent Zelda games, or Excellus from Fire Emblem: Awakening.
But like @Warlock82 said, virtual console games don't sell a lot, so they're probably not worth the expense of localizing them. But I feel like, if any game would sell enough it to be worth it, it would be that one.

There's...too many amiibos. And with retailer exclusives all over the place there's zero hope of owning the ones you want unless you're a keyboard samurai.
How is Yoshi's Wooly World coming out June 26th in Europe and Fall in NA? I could understand, July or August maybe, but I'm assuming Fall means mid September at best.
I really hope that when they announce Animal Crossing, that they truly make it an interactive experience. Make it much more online integrated. Continue the mayor idea from the first game only expand it by a lot. Stuff like that.
Yea with voice cha...
Couldn't even finish the sentence.
C'mon, this is Nintendo.
AC: City Folk had that terrible version of voice chat...so maybe they'll do it properly this time.
Probably not, it'll probably use the terrible speakers/mic in the gamepad. :P
AC: City Folk was terrible in general
Also Dover to do what you did from 9 to 5 is way more man than me, I went in for trial run and noped right out. I hope you land on your feet bud.
I wouldn't say [version of Animal Crossing] was terrible, just... too much of the same from [previous version of Animal Crosssing].
Extensive online integration? Persistent worlds? Greatly expanding concepts of previous games? Seriously, you guys are expecting way too much from a new AC.
I disagree; I think WW was a good progression from the original, and NL was a good move as well. CF just took a bunch of time-based stuff from WW and shoved them all into one spot.
