I love tha color scheme... Guess I need to do more Roc strikes, cause I'm stuck with the red/blue of Crucible.
Is there a decent looking Red ship? I'm using Shark Whisperer but that's got a little too much blue in it for my Red Mage.
There's a rare ship called High Water that's almost completely red (red with gold trim, i think) that I used. It comes up randomly on the ship vendor. it's this model but red, obviously. can't find a picture of the red one.

The High Water series is pretty nice, also most of the Spindle Demon ships, especially the white/blue one, I think I collected all different Spindle Demons so far.
The Teilhard War is the FWC ship, which actually looks like the Highwater.

The Icarus perk could be pretty cool with Warlock Sunsinger Angel of Light (also with the Airborne modifier in Prison of Elders), but I'm pretty sure its an ability for the Angel Tac (or whatever its called now) exotic Hunter helmet.
Edit: According to the link, Bungie removed the Vanquisher VIII and New Monarchy now has a new Autorifle... Low Impact? Great, everyone loves those, especially the Necrochasm.
The Pacifier X Machinegun, also New Monarchy looks badass though, nice impact, good perks.
Edit: According to the link, Bungie removed the Vanquisher VIII and New Monarchy now has a new Autorifle... Low Impact? Great, everyone loves those, especially the Necrochasm.
Would you still be able to acquire Vanquisher VIII in New Monarchy Packages?
Me and Cilla were chatting about how rad it is. Would be sad if new people can't get it.

I have heard of people getting Vanguard capes that the Vanguard stopped selling, so its possible you can. (I got 2 Vanquisher VIII in my bank just in case you cant, decent perks, but not fun if they cant be reforged.)
Regarding Fate of All Fools, I really hope its not been replaced with the 347 Vesta Dynasty as some people think, since Fate of All Fools looks like a really solid weapon and the 347 Vesta Dynasty has a dual selectable special perk, but both seems to suck, I dont particularly care about gaining armor+ or agi+ for a short duration.
Hmmmm all that stuff looks neat
Should I keep leveling dead orbit, or switch to future war cult?
If you like Handcannons I would switch to FWC, that Fulcrum gun looks pretty badass. Dead Orbits Exodus Plan Rocket Launcher looks nice for Crucible and New Monarchy's Machinegun looks good too.

I doubt that very much. Otherwise the Grimoire card would become unobtainable for everyone aside from the guy that received it as a gift because he was using Destiny as part of his post-brain surgery therapy.
The new Red Hand, the new Fulcrum, and the new Queen's Guard handcannon have it too
I'm very excited about the new vendor items you guys
The monarchy ones especially all look incredible, both looks wise and perks wise

i don't even know how to frame this question because i don't know if it makes sense or if i'm just overthinking an obvious answer but, like, since i didn't do any pvp until just recently, i'm like lvl 20 vanguard on my hunter and only 3 with dead orbit and 2 with FWC (and 2 with crucible)
i guess the only reason to level another faction would be if i want their specific gear/rewards, right? does it have any effect on like the end of match rewards in crucible (outside of the crucible faction itself)?
The factions all give care packages when you rank up with them past level 3, which can contain faction legendaries, unique ships and objectively most important, unique shaders.
Edit: oh I guess this wasn't really your question. Reading comprehension is good.
Still, I'm satisfied just being able to inarguably state that shaders are more important than any other loot in the game.

You are correct. It has no effect on your loot drops, unlike Vanguard and Crucible reputation. I'd concentrate on getting your crucible rep level up to 3, then you can potentially get exotics and legendary items from the Crucible.

Coolies. Yeah, I'm almost to 3 in the Crucible. Not really that tough a slog just doing the daily bounties.
Can I also say how much I'm looking forward to being able to use nothing but purple colored armor and weapons? Cos it is a lot. Missed the Queen's stuff the first time around.
I finally completed the Crucible portion of the Thorn bounty after ignoring it for months due to not being any good at Crucible. Ground it out from 0 today using my Warlock and goddamn Aetheon's Epilogue. Actually managed to get a 2.4 K/D in one match with 22 kills, which struck me as a clear indication the opposition was absurdly awful.
Part of me is concerned though that we'll in rather short order be out of vault space again, especially with being able to upgrade old stuff
I wonder if they realize how temporary a solution the increase was.
Making all purples relevant actually leaves us much, much worse off. If you're the type of person who packrats. Which I'm sure most of us are at this point.
It really needs a restructuring from the ground up, if adding new vault space is limiting system memory on the last gen consoles.
I don't have the foggiest idea how that infrastructure works, but I wonder if it would be possible to store sets of weapons in a "folder" that would take up a single vault slot and be saved to server space rather than system memory.

Guess I missed the news: are they getting rid of Vanguard/Crucible commendations? Did they say what will happen to the commendations we already have in our inventories?

Commendations are one more element to the upgrade path for your Guardian that we’re changing. Essentially, they’re going away. You'll no longer need them to acquire new weapons or gear.
If you have a bunch of them stockpiled, you can burn them for reputation. Gaining reputation will speed you toward your next promotion, thus earning you another reward package. To prosper and equip yourself with new stuff, just earn Marks!

So, tossin around an idea, but next week would anyone be willing to give this expansion a good show off and do HM Crota at some point in the week on PS4? I'd want 32 to be required, but would be totally cool with prioritizing people who still don't have a glowhoo, even over my own inclusion. It isn't my favorite raid, by any means, but seems appropriate to see the thing off by doing it one more time. I also wouldn't mind a shot at the Word for void burns.
It would be ideal to have an experienced swordbearer, though. I can try it, and will practice some just in case, though.
Just throwing out to see what general interest there is. Next Monday, not tomorrow, would probably be the most thematically ideal as a shove off for the xpac, but I imagine two days in a row of hardcore raiding won't appeal to most people. If you're interested, and know what day/time you'll be available, just post an @ me in the thread and include the time info.
For some reason I thought House of Wolves was a week further away than it actually is... oh well. It's a shame that I probably won't hit 400 Strange Coins before having to spend a shitload to buy the Shards to upgrade all my exotics, unless the Nightfall decides to punish me with additional coins on top of my weekly rewards.
I need another 5 Hadronic and another 26 Plasteel for the exotic upgrades, though I wouldn't mind adding another 50 of each on top of that to give me some room for upgrading new armour pieces.
I'll also be looking to do some Crucible next week, I need to earn 88 on my Warlock and 96 on my Titan to hit the cap, though I may run some crucible tomorrow as well. Maybe people want to meet up and do some Skirmish practice ready for Trials?
I, uh, may have just deleted that ship a few days ago to clear up some space. It was a good ship, though; bought it off the vendor very early on, before acquiring any dropped ships.
Of course, for a long time I replaced it with Eon Trespass, which is like it's sleeker, browner cousin:

I need to get quite a few marks on my warlock as well, so I'd be down at some point. Maybe not tomorrow, though, we'll see. I need to run VoG on my Titan first and foremost.
Also, I managed to solo HM Lantern run tonight for the first time on my warlock. It's easy to do on my hunter, but never could quite manage it on the lock. Feels good man.

So should faction packages be saved until after HoW? Will newer stuff drop from them?

I believe the prevailing wisdom is that you should "edge" your faction rep- get it just below the requirement. If the packages have already been generated, they will contain old/current items. The exception to this is supposedly the Cryptarch, since it doesn't roll the items until it has been opened, by necessity since they're engrams.

I really can't imagine this actually being an issue
we're talking about like seven dozen objects
why is your inventory being stored console side in the first place? why can't the console deal with fewer than a hundred items? it sounds like a made up excuse unless the inventory system itself is really needlessly complicated from a coding standpoint
I guess I can understand not wanting people to hoard things but just say that outright. don't give me bullshit excuses
I also assume you're just repeating what bungee has said since i haven't really followed the issue
Allegedly a voice of reason.

The information isn't 100% saved console side, otherwise you wouldn't able to play on current/last gen systems in the same family or manipulate your inventory via app or website.

Engrams content is generated within the patch that it dropped. Even if you open it in a new patch, it will only generate content from the patch it came from.

New Monarchy Faction ship, I still havent gotten any of the faction ships.
Yeah it is, I forgot who it was but I was clued in to watch for the rare ships on rotation at the vendor because a lot of them look fantastic.
Personally, none of those perks are particularly exciting to me. More chaff to roll off in search of the ones I might want. =\
On a more positive note, a lot of the new models look pretty slick.
