Those were some great hunts. Once we got him down. We had no issues.

Later in the week I'll probably put up another room for him again. And at some point I'd love to take down Crimson as well as I could really use it's weapons.

The three-hunter fights we had were intense. The four-hunter fights we had were laughably easy. That's what Rodeo God/Glaive spam gets you. Take that, you stupid lightning-spewing jerk!

Although it turns out the parts I need to upgrade my duals are black Fatalis...

i need to find some time to hunt white fata, i need his gun bits because he makes like 3 of the best elemental guns in one.

I got all the parts for the lbg in 1 fight, his gear really doesn't take much to craft. I could make almost the full armor set after 3 fights with some leftover mats. I prefer the other lbgs though over his just for their utility but I guess it depends on if you are fighting multiple monsters in the same fight with different resistances. Against 1 monster I like the others just for the other rapid fire options like orcus rapid firing paralysis and slicing shot in addition to thunder, even though you give up a bit of raw damage.

Aside from a couple of weapons I just wanted the head and legs as better sub in for my edgemaster sets.

That mission is accomplished. I ended up making a very pretty status attack +2, edgemaster, critical eye +3 set as well as just upping the armor and getting critical eye +1 on my other edgemaster sets for free.

I do need 1 more soul eye for the sns and then some extra parts for the lance.

Just captured a Gendrome. Not as hard as I thought once I swapped to Greatsword. A lot of the recent-to-me stuff like Tetsucabra and him seems difficult at best with hammer due to lack of reach. Might just be that I've been using hammer less solo and am now out of the groove I was in.

Fun fact: when you joined the room, I mentioned that we were 2 for 3 in taking him down. The one we failed (thanks to me needing to learn to NOT GET HIT by his stupid lightning air strikes) was the only one where I wasn't using my para duals to supplement Entaru's SnS. I didn't recall the other Fatalises I've fought being vulnerable to it. Live Cart and learn.

I would just like to take a moment to say that Molten Tigrex is a douche. Any tips? He loves one shoting and juggling me out of nowhere.

i prefer a gunlance and guard armour for tigrexes. just sit behind your shield and poke/shoot when you get an opening. if you want something a bit more dynamic go SnS and hit and run between his legs.

I won't fight him without the Bio Master skill (HG Earplugs also handy, but that applies to most things). But if you're getting one-shotted it sounds like you have other problems?

Unless you mean in one series because if he keeps comboing you there is little you can do without blocking

He's basically a fight about openings. You have to learn to time when he's going to be standing still because when he is he stays still for what seems like forever.

The rest of the time just be mobile because he can combo when he's on the move and just cart you.

Capcom's Japanese channel showed off the cat game in a stream I'll spoil below too, but I hadn't seen this before. Looks like an arcade game with quick time events but done in a cool way. Maybe something they'll push out for cell phones like that one iPhone MH game from a while back.

So it's probably just bad luck, as I've definitely got a ton of Great Jaggi Heads now, but is bashing them in the face with a hammer not how you induce them to drop King's Frills?

E: So we're clear, I know about breaks and so far as I can tell I'm getting them on its head. The frill becomes tattered.

Wow. That is super bad (good?) luck. Frill is supposed to be a 65/70% drop depending on low/high rank when you bust its face. Head drop is only like 10-12%.

I mean, it's like 7 minutes a kill but it really didn't seem to want to give me the dang Frills all of yesterday. It seems like I'm less likely to get them off the lolJaggi during Expeditions than in the Caravan Quests, which I can live with, as well.

Also, what even is Affinity? I've got a better Greatsword option I could craft in terms of damage but not sharpness but I have no idea what -10% Affinity means except that maybe it reduces your crit rate?

Affinity is the crit rate. In MH, crits provide 25% additional damage if I remember right so a -10% affinity means 10% of the time you do 25% less damage.

I used to know the formula off the top of my head but I want to say that each 10% increase or decrease is worth 3 dps?

If memory serves you need 40% affinity for a 10% dps increase

Or basically dps changes by one-fourth your affinity.

I am going to try a room again tonight. It depends on what needs to get done around the house but I am going to try to shoot for 8pm est.

I bailed on the room because an irl friend popped up who I hadn't hunted with in forever so since no one was showing I went to hunt with him. I'll wait longer tonight.

This is all based on if I can get on at all. Things have been kinda screwy in that department lately.

That jerk is a nightmare in that one caravan quest. Couldn't make him leave via dung bombs even with the dungmaster food skill. Although I think I carted once before he showed up.
