Does the full game let you customize your controls more than the demo? I know, the demo lets me assign anything to any button, and it's a little demandy to ask for more, but I was annoyed with being unable to assign the same action to multiple buttons; in the demo, I was required to assign "unassigned" to something.
If Kotaku was like this all the time it'd be the greatest website on the internet, holy shit. This review is like the Regular Car Reviews of video games reviews.
I've always thought the Bayonetta games were the pinnacle of the CAG genre. I love all CAGs alike as my children, don't get me wrong, I play as many of them as I can, it's my favorite genre, but no other Devil May Cry or any other game clicked with me the way Bayonetta did.
Until now. I feel like I'm having a crisis of faith here. I'm only in mission 3 and I am falling head over heels for this game already. I think the moment that really got me was in Mission 2.
When you fall into the pit and those 2 big fuckers with axes spawn, I just felt totally plugged into the game, dodged and played with them building up my style meter, and just instinctively got some awesome stuns with a devilbreaker uppercut to the chin in the middle of their attacks, as the music swells and swells because the style meter is rising.
Someone at Capcom has fucked and the Steam download doesn't include the exe.
I should probably just go to bed and see if it's fixed in the morning.
That sounds... intentional. Like a way to avoid people VPNing it early.
In a way that makes the game unplayable for people actually in the appropriate region at the time of unlock? Apparently it affected everyone that activated a CD key for the game on Steam.
I got to start playing because someone on the Steam forums uploaded the exe to a file sharing site.
It's fixed now, but it's a weird thing to have happen in the first place.
I'm being completely serious...never before have I seen a video that so perfectly explains my relationship with not only gaming but art itself.
Seriously. This is why Five Guys is one of my favorite restaurants. Sometimes you just want a disgusting fast food burger, man!

Question, can you replay past mission before beating the game?
Just trying to figure out if I want to be looking up secret mission/orb locations or not. If I can replay before beating than I don't need to. But if I have to get them all on the first try then I will deffo look them up.

Haven't played it myself, but you could on all the previous ones, and I'm pretty sure I saw a mission select option in a video.

Yes, go to the main menu and chapter select is available from there.
spent so much time playing bayonetta having to use stupid dmc style siderolls as dodges is giving me ptsd
also i keep trying to royal guard during the iframes but im nero and he doesnt have royal guard and i feel bad
That's why Nero is butttttttttttsssss.
Trickster (or Royal Guard if that is more your style) Dante makes DMC feel so much better imo.
No you are the butts.
I was always a Vergil>Dante>>>>>Nero guy.
But this and replaying 4 makes me realize Nero=Vergil>Dante I guess.
I think 4 lost me on Dante with Style switching becoming his core gameplay since I loved the individual style’s so much on their own.
Nero however feels....great. Just consistently great. He’s got two great hooks now and it feels like I’m slipping into a comfy pair of shoes.

Also...I should really switch Nero's shoot to R2 and his melee to Square as I don't drive myself crazy.

So I'm hearing the devs maybe kinda sorta dead dropped the version of the .exe that doesn't run Denuvo in a public branch on steam that was used for QA purposes. People have been running it and apparently they were seeing 20+ fps gains over the default but I don't know how true that is.

I had to do that for DMC4, but I'm not feeling the compulsion in this one. I guess it's because you get a magazine of charged bullets instead of just the one shot now.
But yeah, Nero feels great to control here. I like the Ex-Act timing so much better now that it's the end of the attack animation instead of some nebulous point in the middle like in 4.

Yeah...I tried R2 to shoot and on second thought I like Square better...
Wait...wait...charging your gun charges all the shots?

Charge the gun, get 3 charged shots.
I changed X to jump, and square to melee
I don’t understand the default controls

I think one control thing that I'm gonna try out is putting lock on one of the left shoulder buttons. I feel like that may be more comfortable for my hand to not feel like I'm getting a claw cramp trying to hold the shoulder button on the same side I'm mashing all the face buttons.
That might make Nero feel a bit better too for me since I feel the need to lock-on more frequently with him.

Watched a streamer play this last night. Looks absolutely rad as fuck.

OK, fine, it's back on my purchase list, because I felt the same way about Bayo

Oh...god I'm so rusty.
That said in my younger days I would have replayed a level until I perfected it or at least did very well.
Now I'm like..."Eh, I'll wait until I have all my moves."
The game is sooo good what am I doing at work. I have steady gsynced 90 fps and huge speakers it's amazing.
I feel mega rusty, for awhile I'm like damn Nero has so many systems and buttons to keep track of, maybe this new character is the new straight forward one?

Probably the live action cutscenes DLC.
Are the pre-vis cutscenes available as DLC, or are they exclusive to the deluxe version?

What is even happening.
Does jumping have some kind of evasive properties to it?
I don't mean simply moving out of the way, like does it have i-frames in the same way dodge rolls usually do?
My eyes did not see DMC4 but my hands, my hands KNEW.
Typically yes, you get a number of I-frames during the ascent of a jump. Can’t speak to this entry specifically, though.
