These weapon designs are really cool too

I am more excited about this kickstarter than any previous

Well, maybe not Shadowrun, but there was some apprehension there as well

Everything coming from this looks pretty legit, and I like how upfront they are about "hey this is also to show other people that we've got the support, and will ensure a stable project."

Doesn't mean it will be one, of course, but I like the transparency.

$28 for a digital copy of the game?

    Fuck that.

    yeah!

    Fuck it!

Without knowing how long the game is or what it looks like or plays like or or how deep the systems are!

Stagnant prices forever regardless of how it impacts development!

    Get bent.

    Nah I'm good

Your willingness to cast aspersions one me based on how I value digital content just makes you look like a huge goose.

I don't understand what digital has to do with anything?

How does the format of delivery impact the price ceiling

You made a snap judgement based on essentially no information

I'm not sure what you expected

A snap judgment of "I'm not going to pay $28 for a game before literally any screenshots or hands on impressions or video exists" seems pretty reasonable to me.

It also doesn't imply that B&R thinks $28 is, flatly, too much for a video game of this sort, or any video game, for that matter. If you think $28 is too much to blindly pay for a game that does not exist yet, that is not unreasonable or unfair, or worthy of derision. I might describe it as "prudent."

the reaction was "28 dollars for a digital copy? Fuck that"

The implication there is that because its a digital copy, that's too much

if he'd said "28 bucks for a preorder", then yeah, ok

It's like you're vaguely aware that you're assuming things about B&R's opinion but you're not quite connecting those dots. You're inferring. B&R is not implying.

Because they mentioned the digital version doesn't necessarily mean that their opinion is related to the physical/digital dichotomy.

In the future, maybe seek clarification on people's opinions before going with your gut reaction and sarcastically implying they're ridiculous.

This whole backer achievements thing is real offputting though

It feels very much like something a marketing team would put together

Which, well, given that this was helped made by a company the specializes in making kickstarter, isn't that much of a surprise

I'm not a fan of rewards based on tweets made about the game, though

"for a digital copy" is an implication, dude

in fact its barely an implication, its a statement

I did imply that being upset at a price point with no information about the game itself is ridiculous though, you're right about that

My tone was shitty and for that I apologize

but the insistence of people that steam/small releases be 15/20 bucks has been, in my view, stifling to smaller games and seeing someone just completely write something off because its a little more than what they're used to with a dismissive "fuck that" was a trigger for me, sure

I think its too early to write something off based on essentially no information about the product other than the price point. That's silly to me, and I treated the idea like it was silly, because that is how I feel

    Indie > Sony Playstation

    Role-Playing > Nintendo 3DS

I'm always skeptical of the financial reporting stuff because there's a LOT of motivation to have a "full slate" to show investors. It's kinda hard to completely fudge that stuff (there's some legal liability if it can be proved that you knowingly misled investors, at least in the US), but I'm still skeptical.

I will continue to try to curb my enthusiasm until there's a real date out there.

The simultaneous release news is good, regardless.

Is there any kind of incentive for them to actually not break what they say in financial forecasting from an investor perspective?
