If you're a bad Nova like me, I find that leading my combo with Pinning Shot (W) before Snipe (Q) makes it easier to not whiff the Snipe due to the snare from Pinning Shot. I'm sure it's not ideal, but whiffing half my Snipes isn't ideal either so it works better for me. You still have a second after destealthing to launch the Snipe before the 20% bonus from the lvl 1 talent wears off.
Leading Precision Strike with W also makes it a LOT easier to land. It took me a while to figure that out initially.
There any youtubers or streamers that you guys like to watch playing this?

Trickslyr is on sometimes and also works for Blizz I think?

Yeah, Trikslyr is a CM for Heroes. He's a cool dude. Also likes to play Minesweeper between queues.
One of my favorite streamers to watch is DunkTrain, who plays for C9M, but his streaming schedule is a little erratic as of late. His stream is really fun and laid back though. He has some really good insight into the game and mechanics and such as well.
I'll echo SolidJakeGG (aka Solid Jak Egg), fantastic caster, great streamer. He does a daily Heroes "show" called The Daily Quest where he goes over community-sent replays and analyzes them. Wednesdays are typically Wonky Wednesdays where he challenges people to play some WACKY-ASS builds, like DPS Li Li or full Support Tassadar. Good stuff.
bought uther today with gold, then got the lumberjack skin because WHY NOT BLIZZ TAKE ALL MY MONEY GOD
how do people usually build him?
I usually build him for stuns, HoJ cooldown on 1, mana on AA on 4, HoJ slow on 7, divine storm, blessed champ or shrink ray (depending how much healing/many melee heroes you have), benediction on 16, divine storm upgrade on 20. I've also considered speccing out for Holy Radiance, but haven't actually done it but once yet. No real idea how good it is.
Generalísimo de Fuerzas Armadas de la República Argentina
So I only played a couple games last night, one or two as Nova and one or two as Uther.
I think I like Nova better. What is wrong with me.

So I got Sonya as one of my first heroes, uh what's her deal?
She pretty much seems to have awful tank, awful damage and no mobility as well as a more restrictive mana mechanic. Compared to someone like Illidan she seems like a joke.
Rehgar is boss though, heal build and you spam all over the place all the time.
sonya is not a tank, she's a sustained damage dealer with durability
her damage is highly tied to spamming Slam, you want to take talents that make Slam better (well, you can skip the one where it increases the splash)
you're not wrong in that she's not in the best place, she's eaten some hits for no reason and hasn't really been supported since
Well that's the build I tried, and even if I can do 3 consecutive slams on a character she doesn't really do that much damage. A lot of other characters seem to have a much easier time burning down a target at the same speed.
The other character I bought with my early cash was Sgt. Hammer and oh boy, I sure painted myself into a corner with difficult heroes.

Sonya is one of the heroes that benefits from common competitive compositions having two supports to keep up a warrior. Or she can be the second warrior in a comp and go for more of a sustained damage source with more durability than assassins in exchange for less burst.
In solo games, she suffers since she closes on the enemy line really quickly but will melt fast under fire if not backed up by her team.

Others may differ, but I consider Sonya a warrior who isn't a warrior, but also isn't anything else either. Her CC is shit, her durability is too contextual, her damage isn't good, she doesn't offer meaningful team buffs / support.
If there was a game mode where you picked the enemy team's champions, I would put Sonya on every enemy team without any exception. One of my favorite heroes to see on an enemy team, and my very least favorite to see on mine, if we have no other warriors, because that's as good as any other no-warrior team.

Great! Just 10 levels to get the 4k back.
We never recommend purchasing heroes without extensively trying them out on free rotation when you're still building up your roster.
That said, there have been periods where Sonya was a top pick even if it wasn't as a primary tank. Her ability to spam slam mean it doesn't take a whole lot of tweaking for her to shoot up in power.
Playing Nova is god damn addicting and I feel horrible for it.
My last game was just a solo queue and I forgot how much Nova can help a bad team stay in it and how much she depends on her team.
There was a good chunk of the game, which was on dragonshire blech, where I held the top shrine solo for like 5 minutes. I was a machine. Killed the opposing Nova through her shimmer multiple times. Got Raynor multiple times. Even soloed their muradin with a full combo. The hardest kill usually was Valla because she knew how to look for the shimmer and would get me most times if I got just too close.
Their Tassadar finally figured out his d by the end of the game which made my long range decoys even more important to make him blow it early.
Nova when you are having a good game though really throws off the other team and changes how they play.
Sonya isn't horrible. You just have to treat her like a somewhat more (but not much) sturdy melee assassin. And slam can absolutley devastate is you get it in, killing 2-3 opponents isn't unusual
On another note.. man, I've been on a run with Sylvanas lately. Just again I had a game where the opposing team didn't focus on me, and I ended up with 2x the hero damage of other assassins ingame. They all had like 30k (raynor, valla, thrall) while I ended up with 65k
Sylvanas is made of wet paper, but if you're not able to deal with her, she can dish out out an incredible amount of hurt
Edit: And we also won that game, because hero damage isn't everything of course.

Once she hits 16 she is a team fight beast with the vulnerability on the dagger.
Also if you do the exploding minions it is even more fantastic for lane fights.

She is one of my favorites.
Cold Embrace + Splinter Shot is one of my favorite builds as Sylvanas. Go in with all 5 charges of Q up, toss out W, wreck two people at the same time.
Sometimes I'll grab Evasive Fire over Splinter Shot if the enemy team is real dive-heavy. Sometimes I'll grab Life Drain over Unstable Poison if we're lacking a Support, but I find myself hard pressed to give up Unstable Poison these days. It's THAT good.
I usually take this one, with evasive fire and the shade form- Reclaiming health is great, but avoiding death is pretty good as well. If you're not hit with AOE or nova's triple tap, you can almost always get away by stealthing.
with the wind and evasive fire together means you can usually get 5 withering fires in and almost always get away, forcing enemies on lane to use their well early.
I tend to run her with friends so my team comp is more planned so I tend to not take as many evasive talents. I run her more like this usually.
The slow is really fantastic with keeping up with people in a fight. I think people underestimate unstable poison. It is amazing at lane clearing of course. But a lot of fights occur in lanes where it causes a lot of aoe damage. It is a vicious ability most people don't notice till they just got hit for 800 damage.

yeah, I can see it really putting the fear of god into people in lanes, but sylvanas is pretty much a beast in lanes anyways. Follow through and Shade Form on the same tier are both also very good though, I'd say neither pick here is really bad, at worst it's a situational pick, at best they all can work for you depending on your playstyle
I really like playing Sylvanas. She feels powerful but it doesn't feel bullshit overpowered. When I don't play Sylvanas and pick Valla for example, I can usually punish a Sylvanas just slightly out of position pretty harshly.
So it feels like a high risk, high reward character done right to me. Absolutely my favourite hero right now, competing with ETC and Zagara for my favourite spot

If it makes you feel better, I picked up Diablo when he was considered super bad, and even today he's considered mid tier and very team dependent, so you're in good company.
And speaking of which, as you mentioned, Rehgar is legit as fuck. Helps protect bad teammates from their mistakes while making good teammates even better, offers solid support while also being competent 1v1, he's one of my favorites and is considered top tier in hero match, as well as being pretty solid in soloQQ.

Eh I'll be okay, getting 10k gold isn't that big of a deal. Sgt. Hammer seems really hard to utilize in random matches since she needs to be guarded so hard, her sustained DPS is high though.
Rehgar was pretty much the best, I could get out of the stupidest shit. Like you can just do everything non-stop and fight forever.
At first I was interested in three vikings, but looking further at them they seem pretty lame. They're no Meepo. Murky seems like good fun though, Abathur is just annoying what with his dumb monstrosity 1v1ing squishy champs.

TLV are probably one of the best QM heroes in the game right now. idk.
I need to bind a different push to talk key. That way my reflexive use of expletives when someone blinks/immunes out of triple tap killing them isn't broadcast. I suppose with context someone might get a laugh out of it, but I don't want to cause anyone grief hearing it.
That or try my hand at Nova's "other" finisher, but I don't know if I can call that living.

Hammer has decent escape mechanisms but they're on long cooldowns. You don't need to be guarded constantly but if your team absolutely cannot stick together and give you a buffer it's going to be a tough game. And you can never go into siege mode carelessly no matter how competent your team is. It's often better to poke in tank form from far enough you still get bonus damage but still maintaining mobility if you're not blowing up lane minions.
