This is a good thread. Hopefully it still exists until I work up the courage to contribute something.
Realizing lately that I don't really trust or respect basically any of the moderators here. So, good luck with life, friends! Hit me up on Twitter @DesertLeviathan
I'm awesoming everyones post that sang. Because that was probably the best out of 4 recordings, and damn I suck. So everyone who posted a song you're great.
and I wonder about my neighbors even though I don't have them

Hey, cough's finally clearing up. This is the first time I've done any proper singing in years, I'm just getting over some sort of throat problem, and the song's at the edge of my range anyway, but what the hey:
In fact I'd say the top one this is actually the first recording I sound decent in. Stardom here I come.
Yeah, I ended up having to pan the source track almost entirely to one side so I could actually hear myself. My first two takes were all over the place, tonally.

I'm getting better though. I never sing, this is probably the most singing practice I've gotten since middle school.
That's not bad at all. It sounds like you're singing pretty quietly, which does make it harder to stay on pitch. If you're somewhere that you can, try singing something really loudly. The more energy you put in your voice, the more control you have over it.
Part of it is that I live in an apartment. The other part is that it feels really weird for me to sing loudly. Like.... It feels like my body doesn't want to do it.
Perhaps I'll get the vocaroo app on my phone. I could totally sing loud in my car and not disturb anyone.

So the idea of singing a Disney song for here reminded me that I did that once and then never posted it. FIVE YEARS AGO I lost a forum battle to @Ten because his entry was better and also because I ran out of time and never finished mine. It was going to be a dumb ripoff of Charlie the Unicorn but the lip-sync, no matter how cheaply done, took way more time than I had. So I posted the first two scenes and lost. All the audio, however, was done before I started animation and it included a weird musical interlude (like the charlie cartoons always had).
Some classic Kermit for you. Might do another something later.
BTW: The android app for Vocaroo is hot garbage. It apparently neither prevents your phone screen from locking nor continues recording while locked, so I was going to do another take, but it decided to throw an add for some dating app at me when I tried to delete the old one. Uninstalled.
I think I don't know how to project. I swear i'm not timid, and this was me trying to sing louder. Stupid meat body doesn't do what I want. I need robo lungs. Or probably just more practice. That sounds like hard work though, I'll probably just take the robo lungs option.

I'm using the built-in voice recorder on my phone and then uploading it via the Vocaroo app
it works a lot better

Thought I should try something more in my vocal range. Clearly didn't work. That's the Decemberist's Legionnaire's Lament.

It turned out really good.
Here is another bad one to make up for it.

That's so mean!
Everyone keep singing. I don't care about how good you sound, I just like listening to others.

@Raijin Quickfoot I think you said you didn't listen to these recordings, but you're actually pretty good.
@Speed Racer Two Princes This awful recording goes out to you.
