Has he been Fen'Harel in disguise all along, or was there an elf named Solas who was possessed at some point as he wandered the Fade?
If he is always the Dread Wolf, then why doesn't he know everything the Dread Wolf should know?
By the end, is there anything of Solas left (assuming he was not always a god)?
I'm thinking he was always a god. There are hints that the elven gods are just elves who were powerful mages, which fits with his personality.
But then why doesn't he know everything a god would know? Even a small-g god shouldn't be overwhelmed by walking in the Fade, I wouldn't think.
It seemed to me that the reason was that no one had ever walked physically in the Fade that way, not humans, elves or gods. Even gods had rules they had to follow, and the Inquisitor just managed to completely ignore them in a way no one thought possible. Its the kind of thing that would be even more of a mindfuck for an ancient god.

Jade Empire never held my interest long enough for me to finish it, but for its time the combat systems it used as this weird frankenstein beat-em-up RPG really felt like something special, and is something I feel could really translate well to a modern format.
That said, the KotOR-like structures and systems I grew out of by the time I got around to it, which was a bit of a shame but oh well
I remember being really pleased with it when I rented it a long time ago, but I don't think I'll play through it again. It seemed quite shallow for an RPG from what I recall.

He's basically the Dread Wolf all along, and even towards the end if you're friends with him, he hints that he knew WAY more than he lead on. 'It wasn't supposed to be this way' I believe is what he says. So yeah, he's been deceiving you and the army as a whole, trying to set things up to the outcome he wanted, and he doesn't get it. It's basically Corypheus on the other side working things directly, and Solas on the other side working things indirectly.
As for what he wants, I'm pretty sure he just wanted the Orb that Corypheus made. He didn't mind merging Thedas and the Fade together, he talks about it all the time. He just didn't want Corypheus to do it and mess everything up, he wanted himself to do it and merge it RIGHT. Whether that's actually possible or not, or perhaps Solas is just fuck crazy after thinking about it for thousands of years is up for interpretation.

Not quite.
Corypheus didn't make the orb. Solas gave it to him. I suspect Solas wanted the orb to weaken the barrier between the world and the Fade so that magic would pour back in and save the elves somehow, but when he first woke up, he was weak and apparently also kinda stupid, so he thought he could get Corypheus to do it for him. It... didn't turn out well. Damn Dread Wolf.

It honestly wasn't a bad idea. It was working perfectly up until the orb broke. Might've gotten a bit over-stressed when Cory and Inqui played tug of war with it.

I think the orb blowing up was part of the plan

The EA E3 press conference started with a trailer for the new Mass Effect game: Mass Effect Andromeda. https://youtu.be/uG8V9dRqSsw
I'm anticipating DA:I DLC mentioned here. Not mentioned at the MS event.
However, DA:I is coming to EA Access, so more people will be able to play it at no additional cost.
Edit: No Dragon Age info on stage, and the conference was INSUFFERABLE.
I think big expansions work for Dragon Age better than DLC.
Its fine for Mass Effect because Mass Effect has a more episodic feel to it...but I'd like a massive sidequest with more character interaction.
Doubt it'll happen though.
I thought it worked okay for Inquisition where all the zones had basically self-contained stories anyway. The DLC just feels like any other zone in the game.
Now DLC could definitely be done better than just "more of the same", and the self-contained aspects of the zones was a big problem with Inquisition. But the DLC fits perfectly with the design of the base game and was exactly what I was expecting.

True.
But I guess the thing was...Inquistion already had too many self-contained zones.
That was one of my major complaints with the base game.
Now, Jaws is probably one of the better zones but hopefully we get something that feels like it ties into the things going on.

Man...talk about this game dropped like a rock.
Either way wondering if we'll be getting talks of a new DLC soon. Bioware usually releases them around 3 months of each other.
There have been a lot of leaks about the next DLC but like you said, nobody is talking about it here haha. Supposedly some reports hint at it being the last DLC which is surprising given how much the other games got.

Well DA2 only got 2. It was super to also have an expansion pack but that got rolled into DAI.
Origins had a lot but many were of dubious quality.

I remember it having more but I guess I must just have been thinking of all the little dlc items. Hope this DLC is a good conclusion to Inquisition then! Can't say I'm too disappointed about the lack of DLC as it's hard to go back to Dragon Age after the Witcher.

Yeah...Witcher 3 kind of pissed me off cause it had more of the stuff I liked about DA2 than DAI did.

Two things.
1. Are they ever going to fix the amulet of power glitch or was that an intentional change?
2. No DLC for the 360/PS3 version? I'm guessing that means the sales were pretty low on those systems. Wonder if that means we'll at least get a skeleton of some of the things that didn't make it sure to system restrains in the future.
it doesn't help that the RNG is terrible. I heard that the LoH ring is pretty essential to, like, everything. But good luck getting accessories in general, instead of sub-lvl 10 whites
You don't actually need the ring, but you do need some form of heal on kill. The ring used to be the only gear that gave it, but they added a shit ton of weapon mod schematics, so you can actually craft it now.

I'll think about it more and see if I can't articulate my doubts better.
Jade Empire: Special Edition is on sale for $2.99 on GOG. It's DRM-free, and it comes with a soundtrack and digital artbook.

It's currently $14.99 on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/7110/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1
And it's not even available on Origin.

I got a survey about DA:I, asking me if I'd pay 14.99 for DLC (duh, take my money). So I'm taking that as a sign that DLC is a thing that will happen.
Something something, part of the problem

Though not quite as painful as W2->DA2
Highlights:
Seems decent, but... man. I really, really wish they'd say something about story DLC.

Meh, if the numbers were significant enough I doubt they would risk pissing off that many people to do it.
I'm guessing they were a pretty small chunk overall(and the MP numbers seem to support this) and the new save import made be a compromise.

Well its more for the people who have promoted their characters 100s of times and as such have super beefed stats.
Which I think will still be unbalanced but hey...platinum had crap balance too.
I can't even begin to imagine sinking that much time into multi, and I actually enjoy playing it. People be crazy.
But I've come to realize some folks just like the grind.

I think my Inquisitor enjoyed Cassandra and Varric's falling out a bit too much.
Apparently Varric approves.
