It seems they don't understand what people actually like about their games.
Maybe the SWTOR devs can give them a few pointers. Right now they're more into single player content than the Inquisition devs, and they're deving for a fucking MMO.

Man, back into the Deep Roads is pretty much the last thing I want in more DA content. I was glad to be nowhere near it in DAI.
There were a few glimpses that make me think we're going to get an underground "world" that's more complex than just a Deep Roads trudge. That could be cool.
Honestly, I feel kind of bad for Bioware at this point. Inquisition was a massive improvement on Dragon Age 2 (which I did actually like), but it has been massively overshadowed by The Witcher. There's not much they can do about that at this point, but it kind of feels like the DA franchise is a bit cursed.
And its just a personal thing, but I'd hoped one of these expansions would add a city. The depth of a good city map would have added a lot to the mile-wide, inch-deep design of the original game.
Well, if we're getting a city, it's probably dwarves, and who wants to talk to them?

I was really looking forward to the new DLC, but of course it's the Deep Roads.
Bah.
My expectations are now recalibrated to a much lower level.
I dunno. I haven't played much of the previous games in the series, but I quite like the underground ruins I've seen in Inquisition. More underground dwarf architecture? Deep Roads could be kind of rad.
A few days ago I started to finishing up a game with a mage I had, and reading up on some quests got me interested in Lyrium and the story behind that! So I was thinking how'd neat it be to have a further deep roads dlc but I figured naaah everyone hated that from the other games, no way they'd do that. (I'm interested in it though)
Inquisition had so much hype building up to and on release - almost as much as Mass Effect 3 - but without nearly as much momentum afterwards. It might have been the ending controversy bullshit or whatever, but every DLC from Mass Effect 3 was big on content (and for the SP DLC, story) and people were waiting for that shit.
Inquisition's DLC news is like, "oh yeah we're working on a new one, please be excited" and then fucking nothing.
I think the big difference between the two in sustaining hype afterward was the multiplayer. People were still playing and talking about Mass Effect. Whereas once I was done with the DAI campaign (2.5 times thru), I was done with the game itself. Stopped playing it, stopped thinking about it, and moved on to another thing. The multiplayer just had no hold on me. At all. (Despite the much improved unlock system compared to ME3. I just couldn't bother playing long enough to unlock anything)
I wouldn't be surprised if ME3 MP still had more people playing right now than DA:I.

Also, Laidlaw has been tweeting about how the dungeon gets harder and harder as you go through it. Maaaaan... I may very well pass on this for at least a couple of weeks (if not completely). Sounds like a snorefest.
How does the Essense of Perfection work? I put it in a slot and it guarantees +10 stats... But it uses up the masterwork slot that something better could go in? Or is it consumed in the process and then I put in a different masterwork mat? I'm so confused.
Considering how causally crazy ass lore bombs were dropped in DAI, I'm rather optimistic about the Deep Roads expansion. There' all kinds of awesome shit they can bust out with that setting. Hell, maybe you get to kill an Archdemon at the end, why the fuck not?
I'm amazed you all are so down on the Deep Roads. I mean... if ever there were a setting to encounter the Hero of Ferelden, it would be somewhere in the Deep Roads.

I... actually really like the combat in Inquisition?
I think it's the best of the three games. Being an active participant in defense with a focus on timing-based damage mitigation options is super cool and interesting, super different from the regular "upgrade X to absorb hit" RPG systems. The two-hander parry is so satisfying hrrrrng
That said, I don't give a flying fuck about the Deep Roads. Origins burned me on that shit long ago. Goddamnit. It would certainly take more than just dungeon-crawling through goddamn darkspawn for it to catch my interest. It'd be as if ME3's DLC involved fighting hordes of Geth again. If I wanted to do that I'd go back to the first game!
To be fair, the only DLC that they had that was really worth the asking price was citadel
Man, you be crazy bruh.

One of the things I like the most in Witcher 3 was the serial murderer side quest in Novigrad. In some ways, it reminded me of the Mama Hawke quest from DA2.
I'd like to see more detective work in Dragon Age. Or maybe I just want more LA Noire. I dunno. It's hard to tell.

Hmmm, I haven't played since before JoH was released. Now comes the inevitable question: to restart my nightmare run or pick up where I left off. If I recall correctly the fight as the end of "In Your Heart Shall Burn" was awful on nightmare, not sure I want to do that again.

Yep. They reduced them to like two or three per character.
Which is annoying as some are missable.
That said I don't think they patched the item dupe exploit...

Ah, looks like I have been out of the loop. Good to know, thanks!

I just happened to see a Reddit post from the bioware dev about it when looking it up myself

"Silent sister" reads to me as "we didn't have to hire a voice actor". But ya know, that's probably a good thing. I never felt the chatter was particularly great in MP. I usually muted my TV, and listened to podcasts/audiobooks instead.
Silent Sisters have been a thing since DAO so there's that at least.
More importantly:
"We nicknamed Pala 'the silent wrecking ball' because her gameplay revolves around using Charging Bull to get into the middle of the fray and then wreaking havoc on all surrounding enemies. She builds guard on each hit, and a lot of her abilities can hit multiple enemies, so you really benefit from being surrounded."

I wondered if she's ever killed a wyvern.
Either way, yay... Finally a melee rogue that doesn't get wrecked at close range.

But charging bull has been in multiplayer forever. And is nothing like vanguard charge. That grappling chain that some rogues have is pretty similar tho.

The class is a rogue but they say it will count as a rogue/warrior hybrid.
Will eventually have the ability to open both kind of doors.

And thank god for that. High lvl shit is way too damn expensive in this game otherwise.

But I have Inquisition for the PS3 so my opinion on it ain't exactly relevant.
But at least you could skip parts of the Deep Road if you wanted.
