I'm over at my parents after I worked third shift last night and somehow the only other person awake here is my sister. Even the dog is asleep.

So Australians - is the Easter Bilby a real widespread thing? Because rabbits are pests and bilbies are cute.

I dunno? It was big in my state, but the company that pioneered them was founded in my state so I don't know how widespread the easter bilby thing really is. But in my experience, yeah it's definitely a thing

Dinner actually went pretty well. My mom only got weird twice before she left.

Now, as many of you may or may not know, I am a bunny dad. That is to say we have a bunny, therefore we were required, by law, to take the following picture. Apologizes that its mildly blurry but he never sits still.

We had deviled eggs for lunch, which seemed kinda sketchy to me but it's not like we're actually religious. Babysat my brother's dog most of the day since they were bringing my nephew to the in-laws, and then we went out for ice cream in 30 degree weather. Pretty good day today.

Dammit. Why did you all have to remind me of deviled eggs? I have all the stuff here, could make them tomorrow after boiling them today. Hmm...

I had a chocolate bilby every year as a kid instead of a bunny

My sister decided to come home for Easter. She was literally here for 24 hours before flying back to her school down in Texas. (She left because the school is Methodist and basically deserted on religious holidays.)

This particular sister (I have two of them) is my dad's favorite. So he got really excited she was coming home and decided we should all go out to dinner, then church in the morning (never mind that my sister hasn't believed in God for at least a year,) then an Easter Egg hunt (which he spent teasing/taunting us about not being able to find the eggs he hid specifically to our individual weaknesses,) then an early Easter dinner with butter my mom molded into the shape of a lamb (at my father's request,) before she left for the airport.

It was actually reasonably fun, even with Dad being Dad. My grandpa and brother came over, nobody threw a tantrum over not finding all their eggs (probably because with the exception of my youngest sister my siblings and I are all adults,) the dogs didn't get into any of the eggs, I got dark chocolate covered orange jelly beans, the best chocolate eggs ever, and Mom made potatoes au gratin, which is my favorite potato dish ever.

And I got back at my dad for the taunting. I went through his briefcase twice and moved all the papers in his office until he got uptight and started giving out hints.
