As it was pretty clear (to me, at least) toward the end of the previous Mutalist arc that the Infestation's collective hive-mind had almost completely dominated Alad and was now working him like a sock puppet, I figured that it wanted any cure research simply in order to destroy it.

It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

Quick heads-up: the syndicate medallions found in your daily missions are being doubled by the double resource thing, so you can get up to 16 per mission, rather than the usual 8. Boosters don't seem to have an effect though.
So... I just had zanuka show up in a mission, and when I killed it I got the detron blueprint and TWO of the receivers. It looks like the reward doubling is including rare things like the deathmark drops. So if anyone's looking to farm parts for those, now looks like the time...

AFAIK the assassins have always been able to drop multiple parts of their weapons (or in Stalks' case, multiple BPs). I think you might've gotten two receivers because RNGesus is mean like that.
So what does scanning actually give you? I noticed that it tells you what they're weak against and what they can drop, but is that really useful info when you could just open up the warframe wiki?

The codex provides insight into the drop tables for each mob.
This is useful because DE likes to mess with drop tables and the wiki is frequently wrong.
So what Warframe do you guys suggest I go for next?

Ash let's you literally flip out and kill people, Hydroid's got a bunch of good and defensive , if kinda Goofy looking powers, Frost is always solid for pure defense (if slow), and Zephyr's also good because you're all, "FUCK gravity, and FUCK bullets."
You can also look into the quest warframes, they can be a little easier to obtain, although you have to build their parts one after the other, which takes a while.
So what Warframe do you guys suggest I go for next?

Rhino is unstoppable at anything but very high levels, with a decent first power (excellent closing power if you like heavy weapons, and why wouldn't you?), frame-defining second power (Iron skin) that turns you into an unstoppable juggernaut and a combined AoE Nuke/CC power in Stomp. Have you ever wanted to go "Do you know who I am? I'M THE JUGGERNAUT BITCH!"? Then Rhino is for you.
Oberon is a pretty generic frame, but it works nicely if you have Energy Siphon. It's decently armored, it has a good AoE Nuke with Reckoning, Renewal is an OK power but Smite and Hallowed ground are sort of underwhelming. Smite Infusion turns Smite into a pretty good support power though as 100% extra radiation damage is pretty cool for your allies.
Other frames you might try are: Banshee: Self defense power with Sonic boom, damage buff power with Sonar, Silence is an absolute beast of a power (as it will stun everyone you run into, superbly combined with something that can rapidly finish off stunned enemies) and Sound Quake is a pretty good "I WILL DESTROY YOU" power. Nova: Fast, destructive, very destructive, really really destructive. Did I say it was destructive? Volt: Fast, makes everyone else fast too, can put up a shield that screens you from enemy damage and boosts your own, has a pretty good nuke power. Ash: You're almost as stealthy as Loki, but you have a badass AoE Nuke power. Oh, and you can teleport up to people and stab them. Very stabby, very tough. Zephyr: Like Valkyr it's a highly mobile frame. Both fast and really able to fly/jump. Unlike valkyr it's more range and defensively oriented, Turbulence is a highly effective bullet-screen and its 4th power is pretty much strictly CC.
P.S How can you hate Trinity? The only thing trinity needs to shine is a good weapon to kill enemy hordes since it doesn't have an AoE power. Energy Vampire acts as both an energy recovering power and a single-target stun power (and as a defensive power with its Augment). Link acts both as a defensive power and an aggressive one (especially with its augment that heavily cuts into enemy armor) and her final power is the big reset button (restoring shields and health of everyone on your team...also adds resistance for a short while if someone is heavily damaged).
Trinity is super powerful in Melee and a superb support frame. Equip with a whip and copter to victory!

I think I'll stick in another vote for Nova. Massive damage dealing capabilities and a member of the crowd control royal family. Great mobility power with Wormhole, disturbingly large killing power in the form of Antimatter Drop, and one of the bread and butter crowd control abilities Nova's Molecular Prime, which even doubles as a nuking power.
I think the double scan just gives you full credit (4 scans) after only two.
Faster scan might be useful if you're not on a frame that can stun-lock the target.
ah, so I'll probably just get faster scan then.
I actually ran into the Manic Grineer last night and it was pretty anticlimatic. he started giggling or whatever then choked on miasma... which segues into two frames I like:
Saryn: Saryn is fun. Not too many people play her, and Miasma kills all the things with a quick stagger and can be used while sliding or jumping. If you're into less "press 4 to win" gameplay, her Venom attack does well (assuming you can aim good) and then you can do her Contagion too for some melee stuff. Molt is neat too if you're fighting the rare fight where you actually get debuffs applied. It's also an explosive decoy.
IsaacVauban: Vauban is a good control character, if that's your game. If you fight against the infested you can pretend you're playing Dead Space too. He can catch things with his pokeballs and has bouncy springs for you and your friends to jump on. He also has an alternate helmet that's a beret.
Just... don't be Rhino number six billion and twelve. :P

I couldn't get used to Trinity I guess. But, honestly, that was because (at the time) I was running mainly Solo quests and none of her powers helped for a single WF. I'll probably do Rhino for the reasons stated here But Nova sounds like a lot of fun.
