Do the locations of NPCs (both the ones you can talk to and the ones you eavesdrop on) change only based on the general time of day, or are there more definite hourly schedules for them? If the former, is there any distinction between "early morning" and "morning", and "night" and "late night"? Either way I'm sure my desire to repeatedly check everything for changes after every important mission is going to really slow my progress in this game.
They only change from day to night. Day consists of early morning, morning, afternoon, and evening. Night consists of night and late night.
Be aware that playable NPCs have a more varied schedule thanks to their H2Hs. I somehow lost Irina for an entire day, which was baffling.
I've run into several of these by accident, but I can't find or overhear Lin's 3rd to save my life.

So some yellow text bubbles teach you things important for random missions. I met an NPC named Adam and earned a bomb defusing skill that was relevant in my next mission Always try to find these if you can
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

I just did that one. She's actually right on Division Drive, but you have to go up some stairs to find her.
Is it weird that one of my favorite parts of the game is just finding outfits that look the best on certain characters?
Like let's see... Elma currently has white glasses, an 'obviously-the-team-leader' red and white jacket with matching white jeans.
My main character (tall short haired black lady) has shades, a black leather jacket, and jeans with an understated floral print. She's obviously second in command, a woman of few words.
Lin on the other hand has black rimmed glasses, a cute hoodie, and jeans with sneakers. She's the smart techno-savvy sidekick who explains things.
And I could go on and on with the other characters. Like, when I accept missions from the mission board the primary thing I'm looking for is new pieces of clothing I can try out.
The affinity missions for H.B. spend most of their time pointing out his faults, which makes them worth doing.
The problem there is building enough affinity with him to go on them in the first place. It just now took me FOREVER to grind up to two hearts with Alexa, Murderess, and Phog (my current squad) and I like them*. I'm probably going to do Yelv, Boze, and HB in one group too just to see how close to murdering my own team I get. Although before that I'm going to run L, Frye, and... someone (I don't have the final character yet and I think everyone else is at 4+) because I really want to know the deal between Frye and Phog. Which I can guess, granted, but I want to see it play out.
Eventually I should also do Chapter 11, I guess. If nothing else clearing a new chapter usually unlocks a bunch of new quests.
EDIT: *Well, I like Phog and Alexa. Murderess I'm just using for her Arts.
I met this girl named Mia and sent her off on her own to explore the world. I have a fear that this will turn out bad. :?
Yeah that seemed like a bad idea to me too.
Although apparently she's the final playable character? I had all but forgotten about her, really. One of the random Blades mentioned her in conversation recently, though. I guess I have to clear Ch11 first.
I can see the affinity mission that unlocks him, but it requires a basic mission that never showed up (Or at least not since the moment I have been looking for it).
I've seen some people asking the same question. Some have suggested completing or abandoning some of the other basic quests you have accepted, continually checking the board to make it cycle in, and making sure your party doesn't have Frye.
I can't guarantee anything, but those may be worth a shot.

She's around. Check out the Seabound Coil Tree, I think.
I wonder if I'll ever get Phog. I'm level 35 now and the Backup Request basic mission has still never shown up on the board.
Where are you in the story? I was like level 15 or so when I got Phog (when I picked him up for my current run he was 17).
I just completed chapter 8, and have definitely been cycling basic quests and checking the board a lot. Maybe I should try dropping all the ones I currently have, I'll give that a shot when I'm playing later today.

Hmm. Yeah, just checked online about her. That might be my project tonight after FNM.
Yay, i'm going to have to grind Gwin affinity to get to chapter 11 :-/ Apparently the brief time i used him early in the game was only worth half a heart.
Man, Boot Camp is mean if you haven't leveled up Gwin right. Though the only one i really had trouble with were the Armored Suids, because they had to be fought all three at once, effectively with only three party members to boot. Needed to bust out the skells for that, and still had a time of it.
Though in grinding affinity and doing the quest Gwin went from level 15 to 25 in a few hours of play.

So the game just goes ahead and introduces
in an optional side-mission?!
Or does it?
Spoiler for that whole series of side missions:
So was he ever really a time traveller? Or was it just a long con?
If he really was from the future, what is the secret of Mira? How is it holding him back?
I want answers goddammit.
Obviously, it's a
his name made more sense when it was

And once I figured that out
Also I finally have Irina back. I was tired of lugging that jerk H.B. around.

It's a quest that requires Irina in your group near the hangar exterior in the AD. Check behind the Blade Concourse on the northern end of the AD.

So different characters in your party impact the appearance of normal quests? Or is it an affinity quest?

2: What's a good way to build TP during battles as a Raygun/Knife user?
Industrial district, day time, northish.
Get some +tp on hit augs. Knife builds tp kinda fast in the scheme of things. Make sure to weapon swap between autos.

I already did "Nine Lives," though, a while ago.
I've become OCD about Lin and Elma de-synching. They've been in the same party for so long that their EXP levels are almost identical.
Right? It's almost nothing but trouble. Although what it enables for the Orphe kind of makes up for it.
