So how prepared would I be going into chapter 11 with two level 50 skells? I kinda ran around grinding and fiddling with frontiernav and I did the rotating fan trick a couple of times so I earned mucho cheese but I think maybe I might have overdone it>

You should be ready to beat the game at that point.
Are you playing as Gwin? That mission took me 5 minutes
No, still using my character. Two of the three components weren't that bad, except that other enemies would often aggro and tilt the balance (my team is only level 41, the bare minimum), it was just the three armored suids, where all three would engage at once. That would be a tricky fight even with a full squad unless you were overleveled or brought heavy artillery.
I'm looking forward to level 44 and what i presume is a Celica-related affinity quest, but i'm going to try to gun it for chapter 11 today (and then go back to the more mellow Wooly World for the work week).
The micro-guide I'm looking at makes no mention of it, so assuming that you said the option other than "I need 10 natural pearls" and still wound up getting her necklace, then no, you can't avoid it.
I can say that it becomes a plot point in the next affinity mission, at least indirectly.
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.
There's a bunch like that lately. Trying to collect this thing spawns a dude who's one level lower but your ground gear can't even scratch! But a roving level 55 asshole means you can't fight in a skell! Come back later!
I just want this game to be done at this point. I'd slam through the last two story missions and be done if I weren't still four levels away from getting level 50 skells.
(I've got enough money for two. Set up your research probes properly asap, and make sure you've found the sightseeing spots they're on.)
I have access to a full team of Lv50 Skells if I want to*. Just trying to get some final non-asshole affinity missions in before I dive in to the final chapter. Like "White Lifehold" and the final Defian mission, I might have to revert to my a-team to get this one done.
On that subject, if you take Repair off of her bar Irina uses Smooth Recovery a lot more often.
*I bought three of them in one go once Irina, Lin, and Elma passed 50. (I've had my own for a while now.) And still had about 500K left over.

That is waht happened. I simply asked her about her job.
I hated every single solitary second of chapter 11 to the point where I'm not sure I can be fucked to grind three levels to be able to buy level 50 skells and actually finish the horrific abortion of a story. Just ready to play something else.

Chapter 12 is doable with four level 30 skells. A single level 50 is recommended but not necessary.
You don't have to grind levels. Just kit up your party with Candid & Credible gear (for the treasure sensor ability) and go beat up some mechanical enemies like puges and zigs. They drop good level 30 and 50 weapons and armor constantly; you can get a bunch of good drops in like 20 minutes.
I've still got my party in level 30 skells (my main is in a level 50), but they all have GBusters, G2Busters, or Escythes so they make pretty quick work of enemies way above their level

I actually enjoyed Ch11, but I'm mostly over-leveled for the story missions at this point so I can get by a lot of guards unnoticed if I want to.
Which really means that I get to walk up to an unhealthy number of guards and greet them with an Assault Hammer to the back of the skull.
Chapter 11 hasn't been hard since i figured out how to get around all of the guards outside the fortress. I landed on the roof, immediately de-skelled (because there's some level 50-some guys patrolling up there), and then scouted around a bit until i found the entrance (it moves to a cutscene when you're close to the right door). Inside, it's pretty smooth sailing so far, level 41-43 enemies in decent doses, confined to tight corridors for the most part.

If it helps leveling to 50 can be done stupidly fast if you just go to the area in the bottom right of oblivia with the >lvl50 mech dudes. Just keep killing them and fast travelling back to respawn them. They die super easy and give lots of xp. Like lvl 45 to 50 is about 3 kills per lvl or so. Can be there in a matter of minutes.

Fun fact: Exiting your skell, and then hitting "return to skell" causes all enemies and blue crystals to respawn without having to go anywhere

I love "Return to Skell" so much. So much.
It's a treasure and monster respawner, a portable return point, a place of safety to return to during dangerous exploration... just the best.
SwashbucklerXX on
Want to find me on a gaming service? I'm SwashbucklerXX everywhere.
I don't own this (or a WiiU, for that matter), but I've heard the ending
is a legit cliff-hanger. If so, are there any announced plans for story DLC or a full sequel?
Yeah, there are a couple of major unresolved questions at the end of the game. DLC isn't happening, so a sequel seems likely.
Hmm....
Okay, thanks for the info. I'm trying to plan out future purchases, and between what you wrote and Nintendo maybe (fingers crossed) unveiling the NX around E3, I'm probably going to hold off. Don't wanna buy a WiiU if it's going to be supplanted relatively soon.

Focus fire down the regular mooks (RT + D-pad Up I think? Or maybe RB + Up) before the two bosses. That helped me a ton since they die pretty fast and otherwise are just doing tons of extra damage if you ignore them.

Yeah this general strategy has served me well in pretty much every boss fight but Chapter 10's (where I ignored the mooks since they were mostly irrelevant).
Rook is 32, Elma is 30, Lin is 29, and Irina is probably 25.
Oh yeah, I bet you can clear that. I feel like my 4th died instantly too (in fact I think it was probably Irina also ) Give it a try and see if killing the nobody guys helps. Worst case, maybe level Lin a bit more since she is your tank (I assume you are giving her tanky abilities)
Edit: Oh! In fact, get Lin to 30 and make sure both Elma and Lin have Skells. That will help a TON. Don't worry if they lose them - if NPCs lose Skells they don't consume the Skell Insurance (thank god, they are so stupid with them). At the very least, it's like having two extra characters since both the Skell and their driver have their own health bars.

Hell you might be prepped to build the Ares 90 if you're really careful

Sure no pro—

I myself am in Chapter 9, and man.
They kicked my ass too, kept trying and then they just didn't. I declined the level-down.
I wish I knew what I did right or wrong, the system is so unclear.
