The Casino missions are not great. Like the casino has just opened and
it's already going out of business and then it's being taken over and then at the end they just fire that head security guy for no reason except what seems like the Texan being a bit racist. And the payouts are terrible. I think it's like 100,000 for the final mission. 100,000 barely pimps up the basics of one car, it's nothing.

The good things are that you do win free high end cars, I've managed to win all 3 so far, and you can make money much faster than anything out in the open world. I've gotten to $2 million in virtually no time at all, whereas the best moneymaker outside of missions takes hours upon hours to gather the necessary cars and then ship them out.

What's good for the best moneymakers in the casino?

Blackjack. It's still a crapshoot unless you're willing to game the system, but you can bet big and win fast on it. Roulette takes ages and your chance of winning is low, poker again takes too long. Blackjack you can complete a round in like 30 seconds. I'm not quite sure how random it is because the dealer gets a LOT of double 10's, but I had three wins in a row last night and made 150,000 in like 2 minutes. I lost after that but I did game the system with that and disconnect my console. It's not ideal, but making money is so slow unless you can afford to buy the Shark Cards. But 150,000 in 2 minutes is probably the fastest you will make that kind of money in GTA.

I read that there was some kinda bug with horse races, but I also heard that was supposed to be fixed.

It is. They've gone a bit too far in the other direction to fix it because the screen freezes now and you tend to have to back out and go back in to make a new bet.

Played a bit of blackjack. All I managed to do was lose a bit and then scrape it back, repeat a few times. Never actually got ahead by more than 50 chips (started on the low stakes table just to try to get a feel for it).

Are you on console? I'm on PS4, I basically press the PS button twice to flip to the Network settings and disconnect if I lose. I built up some capital first with some lucky wins on the slot machines so I started max-betting at 50,000. Playing straight, yeah you will spend hours barely winning.

Xbox One, yeah. Hmm, might have to give that a punt one of these days.

Mind you, between an MC counterfeiting run and finishing up the bounty hunts, getting the stone hatchet and cracking out that challenge, I was up half a mil in no time flat earlier. Productive sesh. Could've done without the couple of griefers who were hassling me while I was innocently trying to half-inch some supplies, but what'cha gonna do. They tired of it and buggered off in due course.

If you keep joining a new sesssion you'll eventually luck into one with noone else in it. Let's you get a few things done without the restrictions of a solo session. It's the best way for gathering cars for instance, you'll have NPC controlled enemies though so best to have a friend if possible.

IIRC, on pc you can force a desync by blocking the game's network access for a few seconds. Usually I'd free up access again afterwards so that new players could be matched with me. Most players in my experience on pc won't start shit with you so long as you both don't start shit with them or violate an exclusion zone of a city block or two. Maybe three or four blocks if you drive something alarming like an oppressor. Sometimes I could get some good bonuses from sales going from a mostly full instance of players existing in an uneasy armistice.

Nothing good lasts forever, and eventually a murder hobo will join and start raining on everyone's parade.

Oppressors are such a pain in the ass. As their name suggests. They just break the game, they're so stupidly OP. A griefer's delight.

I also caved on the other big Twitch sale this week - after checking out some videos - and bought a Stromberg. That thing is a lot of fun, looks great, is tough as old boots, and hits hard. And it's actually a decent car in its own class.

As I've discovered, an Oppressor is about the only thing it can't go toe to toe with (not least because that blasted thing can fire off missiles in such rapid succession that even the Stromberg with full armor upgrade isn't resilient enough).

I wish that there was an unarmed version of the oppressor that I could use exclusively for transport/tricks without drawing understandable ire from those around me.

I saved for a Deluxo, and the worst part is it's blocked from being used in a lot of missions, so it takes hours of grind to get, then you can only use it largely in open games, which unless you do want to grief people, just makes it a convenient transporter.

Similar for the Stromberg, it would seem. I mean, it's good fun, it's just not all that useful. And I was annoyed to discover I can't dock it at my yacht like a regular watercraft, so it just drifts away. That's a shame, it makes an excellent transport from shore to yacht. (The other way, I might as well just grab the helicopter.) Though it's not too terrible to just get to shore and order it via personal vehicle delivery.

Still, considering the sale prices for both the yacht and Stromberg, I don't feel too stung. I'd just piled up money for ages and not spent it. But now I'm feeling I need to get back to where I was and not quite sure how I'm going to do it. Mostly through the MC counterfeit cash factory and stocking up the CEO warehouse, probably...

I had two Oppressor griefers last night in two separate sessions, too. You'd think they'd get fed up of being down ten thousand every time they blew up the Stromberg, but I guess not. *sigh*
