Damn, that new Ashe looks fun. I love not having to toggle the slow, and it'll be interesting to see how the scaling damage on slowed enemies from crit feels, since it's kind of a pilot for maybe getting rid of crit altogether for everybody(plz).
I like the new Q active, and it looks like she traded bonus gold on her E for having 2 charges and it being global? I'd say that's worth.
Bonus gold was pretty powerful though. The main things she gets is a burst steroid, and making her Q slow automatic. The ability to build crit as damage is also very interesting because it should open up more itemization options for her. I.E. normally its a bad idea to open into a avarice blade because 10% crit with no AD kind of sucks. But you might be able to do that when crit is bonus damage because its an item now with actual damage.
The only thing is that randomness when you have selection power can actually be an advantage. So this could be a slight nerf overall to her burst and fight. I am optimistic though
Her Q made me instantly want to play her, it looks cool. Can't crit slowed target but instead slows amp her damage and her current Q is moved to her passive. Seems a little flashier and more fun to play, I like it.
Her W is a bit weaker. It used to be that as soon as you were hit by 1 arrow other arrows would pass through you. Now you can really effectively body block it.
...I didn't even think about that right off. Holy shit.
Wait... how is this going to interact with Sword of the Divine?
Makes me wonder, I think it would be cool to have various anime/manga themed skins for the champs. Straw Hat Zac for Luffy in One Piece,
Konoha Zed homage-ing Kakashi, Black Coat Tryndamere shout out to old man Zangetsu in Bleach, etc. And so forth. It would be pretty cool for manga and anime fans.
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

I'm intrigued by the new Ashe but I'm unsure how strong a kit it is. Loses power off E, loses power off W, is her Q going to make up for it? Ashe was basically already a support ADC who just wanted to farm and generally got dumped on in most lanes and if she loses any more laning power...

Poorly. Hard to interact with an item that has been removed from the game.
Also SoTD never gave you any crit before you activated it anyway so I assume it would act very similar to how it did before it was removed.
The inability for newAshe to "crit" against a target with her first attack against them seems like a potential problem for trades.
Mainly a teamfight/pick thing than a laning thing since you usually had to waste it on creeps. The laning issue is that it used to be very easy to hit people in creeps with w. But the new w will have a hard time.

Depending on how you played with the waves you could still build charge on her autocrit between them or if the wave balance is being weird. Every now and again you can catch someone with that crit and get a favorable trade you so desperately need.

There is already a kakashi skin, it is silver fang akali or something close to that. I never really got into one piece or bleach so I can't really comment on those.
I haven't played league in a long time now. I'll only sometimes watch it on twitch. It definitely hurts my ability to figure out whats going on since I don't know a lot of the new items and jungle changes. I've pretty much gathered "build a damn cinderhulk and kill the giant bullfrog(wraith) with smite" from watching the lcs. I realize just googling patch notes would solve all of my problems, but honestly not knowing what's going on somehow adds to the experience. It's kind of how if you played pokemon as a kid you were like "sweet lets collect monsters and fight them!" but when you play it when you are older it is number crunching and min/maxing IVs/EVs. Knowing all the numbers under the hood just demystifies it and makes it less appealing.
Like one of the cooler moments for me while I was watching was when some ADC was playing kalista when I had never seen her before. Some fight eventually broke out and she just picked up her janna support and hurled her into a couple people so she could ult. The first thing I thought was "whoa that bitch treats her teammates like syndra orbs". If I had been playing the game I of course would have known that, but not knowing allowed for me to enjoy a flashy play more than it just "being another ult"
Gunna miss going shiv first on ashe and killing the enemy adc asap with the huge powerspike that gives. The passive change probably means shiv needs to be dropped in favor of phantom dancer.
Should be worth though, overall new ashe should be able to trade better than old ashe.
There were builds I used that in! Goofy builds, for certain, but BUILDS MAN!! You know Shyvanna could use it to guarantee both twin bite hits would crit in addition to two more attacks? She actually got four crits out of it! Plus the maximum attack speed means you could aa, activate it, twin bite to immediately reset the aa, then you would have two max attack speed hits follow the twin bite to also lower it's CD. You were getting four critical hits and five attacks in an insanely short window. It made for a pretty amazing combo if you could land a dragon's descent and flame breath on them first to set it up. It turned her into a dragon assassin.
Now this new Ashe comes along and it's not in the game? It's not fair.
Its not been in the game since, I think Sej got released.
I'm very excited for Ashe's new Q. And her slowing shot being passive I think will make her easier to play (no need for mana concern if you left Q on accidently etc).
But the damage off the new Q /seems/ really good. It'll help her do more sustain damage I think. And correct me if I'm wrong but volley gives a stack of focus ifnit hits 5 enemies. So if you hit several of the enemy team you'll be able to pop Q straight away for the as/damage buff.
Passive scales by level starts at 5%, was 23% at level 11. Probably scales 6/11/16 i believe.
Bonus Damage is a crit effect. You do (110 + Crit)% more damage to slowed enemies. If you hit a slowed enemy with shiv the entire proc will "crit" for the multiplied amount. This value is NOT capped at +200%
IE multiplies the crit portion by +50%. So if you have IE and Shiv you have 40 crit and do 110 + 60 % more damage to slowed enemies.
Q is +20% Slow always
Bonus AS: 20%+10%/level
Bonus Damage: .1 + .05 AD
I am not sure if the bonus AD "Crits" or not.
So initial reactions are
Shiv isn't any good early, you don't have enough crit to make the proc powerful yet.
You lack the burst of old ashe big time.
The slows are very strong when you activate Q.
Damage is OK/Good but itemization is wonky. You want IE of course but IE only provides 30% crit which actually isn't much better than completed item efficiency until you get another crit item (BF+pickaxe+2 crit cloaks= 75 AD, 30% crit). So you don't really get an IE power spike like other IE AD's do.
After that, all the items that have crit on them have attack speed on them... Which reduces the advantage of your Q.
I feel like overall teamfight DPS will be lower just because you don't get that first big guaranteed crit.
Edit: Additionally there is a perverse incentive in the 110+crit effect which makes buying crit on Ashe less effective than it is on other champions

Also, is it a coincidence that Smite comes out with an anime skin and then we get this on PBE?

You anime dudes are forgetting Neon Strike Vi for some reason.
I consider Neon Vi more of a tokusatsu/sentai homage than anime. Her recall is the main reference I think.

In terms of competitive play, new Ashe has 2 charges of a global vision skill which is going to be big. Like in solo queue you could use it to spot out the jungler trying to gank top lane maybe, but in competitive you can use it to scout where the enemy jungler is early game which will be pretty useful. Any weak laning she has can be overcome by 2v1ing.
It'll be interesting to see if say C9 brings her out next split, since they're the team that ran the Ashe/Zyra combo previously and valued her more than other NA teams at that point.

Nah, her recall animation for that skin is one of Franky's moves from One Piece iirc.
I know it's from Franky, I just think the overall design is tokusatsu more than a direct reference to Franky.

Woken up by the trash collector and I'm not interested in logging in to play any games yet. Maybe when I wake up again in another couple of hours.

Riot's gotten a bit too noticeable to do homages that are too explicit. The days of Deadpool, Yoda and Sub-Zero skins are long gone.
Who were these champs?
Also, it is entirely possible I have a different mental image of "iconic" Franky than others, to me it's the Hawaiian shirt and speedo/gold chain that stick in my mind. Others may have their own version of iconic characters. For me, I'm just saying I never saw Neon Strike Vi and remarked: Hey that's a Franky design!
