Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't X-2 have a female only main cast?
I did say mainline. The sequels and spinoffs are not mainline.
Seems like an arbitrary distinction to me.
I think the sales figures and overall success of the sequels will agree with that arbitrary distinction, however.
There are tons of people out there who only buy the core numbered FF games.
In fact, earlier in the page I mentioned the survey I took for the demo. In the survey provided by Square Enix, they actually made a distinction along those lines in one of their questions. I think the question was "Why are you interested in Final Fantasy 15" and one of the answers was because it is a Numbered FF game.
I personally don't have a problem with Cindy's design. To me she seems like a cross between Kaylee from Firefly, and Daisy Duke. Does it objectify women? Sure. But it's hardly any worse than tons of other outlandish FF character designs.
To me, a bigger problem is that there are no full-time women in the main party. Not counting the MMOs, 15 is literally the first FF game in the entire mainline franchise that does not explicitly have a woman in the main party. And most people consider the White Mage in FF1 to be a lady, so if you adhere to the generally accepted interpretation of the Four Heroes of Light, then 15 is literally the only game in the entire series with no woman in the main party. And to me that's way worse than a side character with a ridiculous outfit.
Most people think the White Mage in FF1 is female because that's what their minds told them. Which makes for a very masculine female White Wizard. The character was explicitly androgynous prior to the PSP remake making the sprite look strongly feminine in appearance.

X-2 has two numbers! It's more of a numbered FF than most!

As kid, I definitely thought the white mage was a girl, and would always use female names (often of girls I was totally crushing on) for "him". Either way, I don't at all agree with the idea that because all prior FF main game featured a coed cast that all future ones must too, or else SE has done something wrong. I would be similarly unconcerned if the next game had an all-female cast. I want them to always and forever be making the games they want to make. It hasn't steered them wrong yet, IMO, so I'm happy to assume they'll continue to do right.

I would wager the reason they thought so largely had to do with the idea that robes and healing were a "female" thing at that time. It was certainly shocking to younger me when she turned into the White Wizard.
Well "shocking" was more "Oh it's actually a guy". It's a pretty interesting example of projection though.

The White mage in the remakes is a lot more androgynous. Depending on your point of view, almost all of them can be. You can't really explain away the Fighter or Monk, but there's nothing terribly defining about the Red mage or Thief/Ninja. And of course the Black mage is literally just a hat, robe, and two glowing orbs for eyes.

At least eight year old me saw it that way.
I played with girls when I was a kid. Why wouldn't they also go on amazing adventures?
Re: Cidney: mostly, I just despise the sentiment of the bit where they said that the fans thinking Cidney's outfit is too sexy and also wanting a female party member is "contradictory".
Anyway, I look forward to getting Celes in Record Keeper. I'll probably give her an elemental Strike and either a healing spell or a defense break. I'll probably swap her and Cecil around whenever I need one or the other Soul Break.
5* Genji Armor (IV)
4* Maneater (VI) (I have another one so I guess I'll combine)
4* Sledgehammer (XII) (goddammit XII has no RS yet!)
4* White Robe (IV)
everything else 3* or below.

Pft that's a damned good pull imo. My last 50 mythril pull was literally nothing but 3*. I'd have killed for any of the above.

Really? I was under the impression people were pulling 5* with fair regularity, though Reddit may be biasing me on that front.
Looks like a fair few of them are upgrades though, even at Level 1, so I'll probably upgrade them when I get more money tomorrow.
There's about a 10% chance per roll to get a 5*, and about a 20% chance to get a 4* (though this changes periodically). Your roll is a little above average.
My first two 11-pulls had a grand total of zero 5*, two 4*, and twenty 3* items...
Then I'll make her my Spellblader, while Cloud or Cecil (Dark Knight) or whoever uses Combat. I'm thinking the general setup will be her with Cura and an elemental blade, or Drain Sword if no elemental weaknesses are useful.
Cloud (or maybe still Celes) will be my Spellblader if I need to use Paladin Cecil for Rampart.

Huh, well okay then.
I need to do some aggressive curating of my inventory to stay under the limit. Whose bright idea was it to have the weapon/armor upgrade items not stack and take up inventory space?
I'm about 50 cumulative hours into After Years (PSP) and this is not a very good game but it's not a bad big meaningless dungeon if you ignore any of the parts where dialog occurs
You can buy more inventory space with gems or mythril!
Reddit had some super detailed numbers on the pulls. Getting all 3 stars from an 11 pull is really unlikely. Most people will have at least one.
Certain banners offer better odds, though; the recent banner with Wakka and Rydia's Soul Break weapons gave a 10% chance of a 5 star, while the current ones are lower.

5 more slots for $1. If I'd known that I wouldn't have done $3 worth. I was expecting inventory to be something like 50 or even 100 for a buck, since it should be plentiful. But 5 slots? Fuck you Squeenix.
I've spent $0, pulled 11 twice, not even finished half the elites and I have 45 extra inventory slots. If you play all the content, you'll come up with plenty of Mythril.
Also, the Weapon Upgrade dungeon on Hard is stupid easy compared to the Event on Hard (which is also rather easy compared to the SHINRA tower and the story Hard modes).

I've also not spent a dollar. I've done all the Classic and Elite dungeons, and every event since Shinra Tower. I've managed to do three 11 relic pulls, and each time I spent two Mithral to increase my inventory to hold the 10 new items. Since then I've spent 4 more, for a grand total of 150 slots. I also spent an afternoon cleaning out all the level 1 and 2 stuff I had no use for anymore (and could always replace, if it were necessary). I'm fairly comfortable with space now (118/150). As I build more sets of equipment for more worlds, or accumulate free Mithral for 11 relic pulls, I might get more space, but for now I definitely don't need more space.
The Weapon Upgrade dungeon on Hard annoys me, because most waves are 1 single monster, compared to the Hard Armor Upgrade dungeon, where every wave is two enemies. You end up with twice as much adamantite as scarletite. I had actually had trouble with the Weapon dungeon in weeks past, but the Celes event really got me to whip my FF6 team into shape.

Still, only one enemy makes it easier to use lower level characters. The high stamina cost is annoying, but otherwise it's very doable.
I spent the actual money because mythril is getting rarer for me now, which means time-wise it's more valuable than the dollar is. Not spending any more for a while though, I just need to curate my inventory better. I'm never going to wear most of it so best to feed it to the ones I will use.
I'd say combine. Has the potential to be a 5* when fully upgraded. Greatsword++ is comparable though.

Depends on your other FF6 weapon options. If you did the Terra event, you should have 4 Greatswords by now. Combine 3 into a ++. From there, definitely level one Falchion. That's two. If you have more sword uses, spread them out, otherwise go up to Falchion+
Ah shit. I think I must have sold or otherwise lost some of those Greatswords, as I only have 1 left.
I technically use 3 Sword users, but Terra's either going to be in the back with a Rod or using a Rune Blade, and Cecil's either going to have the Rune Blade or maybe the Dancing Dagger (both becaue of the Magic boost).

Oh, Dancing Dagger's good for magic? Pulled one of those in my 11 draw.
Come on gil dungeon, I need a ton of money to continue upgrades. 50,000 alone to combine my two Maneaters.

Poking around on the FFRK reddit, someone posted a thread recommending users do this:
Settings > About Device / Phone > Build Number
Tap Build Number section until countdown is done - enabled Developer Options
Settings > Developer Options > Force GPU Rendering - enable
Restart apps
Enjoy a faster phone - more noticeable on games / image heavy apps
Is this legit? Because the game is pretty sluggish.

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. Continuously resetting the Celes event for 60 minutes, I haven't seen Number 024 once. Hopefully complaining about it will change my luck (it won't). Who thought this was good design!

I'll probably spend $10 at some point in the near future, if only because I've really enjoyed the game and want to give SE some money for their work.

You could probably go both ways (giggity) on all of the sprites. They're pretty generic.

E: In 90 minutes saw him twice.
Realization: Aerith can use 2 star summons, including Dragon. That means she can solo the 5x Flan fight.
I'll probably spend $10 at some point in the near future, if only because I've really enjoyed the game and want to give SE some money for their work.
Arrow Keys: D-Pad, Z X are B and A, A and S are X and Y, Q and W are L and R.
Is anyone even using Tyro? He just seems like such a boring character compared to the other options.
Well, he remains the game's most heavily-armored White Mage.
I still don't get it.
I haven't figured out what this term means. They have used it in several different contexts.
