So far about 13,000 of the one million have signed the petition. Presuming those are all moms.
But yeah - judging from the trailer, which seems to miss the feel of the books completely, I don't expect the series will last that long anyway.

I kind of want to sign the petition just because I love Mike Carey's Lucifer so much and the TV show looks like it's going to butcher an awesome comic series
Not based off the casting, I'd say, but I'm sure I'm in the minority on that.
People say this all the time, but I can't think of a single Marvel casting job that hasn't worked out pretty well in hindsight. Even their "mistakes" (like in IM1 and Incredible Hulk) were more about contracts and personality conflicts than they were about the actor not being a solid fit for the part.

Portman was always a miss with me, partly because she looks like she doesn't want to be on set.
Bernthal's a really solid choice, just let him go crazy with the ptew ptews and the bazookaing of parkour people.
So, this is the day that I learn that Jon Bernthal and Frank Grillo are not the same actor. I had, up until this point, thought that Crossbones / Purge 2 actor, Frank Grillo, played Shane in The Walking Dead.
I misspoke/mistyped. Not saying I don't think they made a good choice in their minds, I've just never seen Jon Bernthal in anything and thought "wow, I want to see that guy act again." Personal opinion only.

I blame that on the movies not giving her interesting stuff to do, she's a solid actress.
And even then it's not the entirety of the movies, just most of it, because she really isn't given much to work with in terms of acting. e.g. In Dark World, when she arrives in Asgard through the Bifrost, she has that I JUST HAD MY LIFE'S WORK PROVED TO ME AND IT WAS AWESOME look.

I think Portman's totally fine as Jane. More so in the Asgard bits of Thor 2 where she really gets to spread out a little.
Her real problem is Kat Dennings just stealing the fucking show out from under her constantly.

So it looks like Marisa Tomei is going to be playing Aunt May in the next Spider-man movie. I'm okay with this. Any excuse to watch her is a good excuse.

I'm seeing a lot of outrage at casting a "young" actress in this role, but I'm having a hard time seeing a problem with the casting of a 50-year old woman as the aunt of a high school teenager. It uh, checks out to me?

I just don't like it being Tomei because it shows I'm getting old. It's like making Kelly Kapowski Aunt May, inconceivable!
edit: I do think she'll be good, that's no in question. But now make Tony Danza for Uncle Ben.
Portman is just a Perfectly Acceptable Supporting Character in Thor
Which yeah would be fine
except Kat Dennings is actually quite fun and her character has loads more charisma so she just makes Jane seem kind of dull
On the flip side, I hear a lot of people saying Dannings is annoying and is one of the worst parts of those movies, so your mileage may very.
This, a lot. I don't think Dennings was the biggest thing wrong with either of the Thor movies but she certainly didn't do anything to improve them in my opinion.
In fact, during my initial viewing of The Dark World in theatres, I reached a point where I was groaining at how hard they were trying to ham fist jokes into it. Especially since she was one of the main sources of comic relief and I don't find her to be very funny.

Luthor seemed pretty horrible in that trailer. Affleck seemed pretty rad.
Also, I haven't wanted to play a modern video game so much until watching gameplay cutsene footage with Classic TV skin applied. If only they'd forked out the cash to have Adam West re-voice act all of Conroy's parts for it...
Huh? What are you talking about? Fox is doing a pretty solid job on this stuff.
Very specifically Deadpool.
I still don't understand what you're talking about? Did you think this trailer looks bad? Because man, it totally nails Deadpool.
No. I somehow thought Deadpool was back with Marvel and they were righting the wrong that was Wolverine:Origins. I thoroughly enjoyed the trailer. Good on you FOX.
does it?

Ah, gotcha. But yeah, Fox was smart enough to let the Deadpool team basically write Wolverine Origins out of existence. Thank god.

That's the best trailer I've seen from Comic-Con this year. (I've only seen that, BvS, and Suicide Squad)
It looks like they're following the script which was leaked a couple of years ago. I remember liking it, though some references have no doubt been updated.

That script was fairly well received, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what they used it (with a rewrite or two).

Forget Lucifer, I'd watch a show on that detective who looks like Billie Piper.
Dare I get my hopes raised?

Was kinda hoping Eisenberg would go into the full Kevin Spacey Luthor and just shout "BATMAN VERSUS SUPERMAN" in that one bit.
Too bad Eisenberg's stuff looks bad throughout the trailer.
